As a first timer at this venue recently, I'm giving it 5 stars. The seating area made sense. The stage is near to most seats/rows. We sat at Section 7, Row J and saw the artists in plain view. I think this is an awesome venue. I came for a Russ concert and purchased lawn seats for the event. It was spacious and chill. Lots of different food vendors and bar areas readily available. It wasn't complicated or overwhelming. For this event there were also closer paid chair seats. Since we were sitting in the lawn area, we purchased a small blanket for $20 as we didn't think to bring one - if you purchased a lawn area I do recommend to bring you're own blanket to save a few dollars! Parking in the area for the event was awful (because, Miami) - give yourself time to find a space. read more

Tip: There's an entrance near the box office! We arrived for the Cigarette after sex concert and seating was first come. Our plan was to arrive early to grab a great seat however Miami traffic is no joke and made us later than our planned arrival. When we got in line it was sooo long. Approached by a security personnel that shared the entrance by the box office and highly suggested we take that route to grab an excellent seat. Took his suggestion and we were actually one of the first few in the stadium. Grabbed a front row, center stage seat for our section and the view throughout the concert was amazing. My daughter was ecstatic!! This seat made her experience all the more remarkable! Staff was friendly and supportive of telling people to move to their seat when walking up in the front area which blocked our view. They had various food vendors there so food was no issue. Multiple bars serving booze and a margarita vendor mixing up some yummy frozen margs. Great place for the concert. Glad it was a late day one because it was so stinking hot!! read more

Miami's front lawn, and the site of more than a couple of outdoor concerts I've enjoyed including Ultra and most recently the "classical music" Hot Summer Nights. Late 90's Hip Hop counts as a classic since it's been more than 20 years right? The view of the buildings, the breeze from the bay, the occasional political demonstration and people watching meshes into the symphony of attending a show here. For non- Ultra Music Fest shows, there's some seats up front but acoustics are just as good in the lawn. There are always a bunch of vendors showcasing the standard concert snacks for noshing. Since they only allow small plastic / clear bags it's not that easy to sneak some bites in (maybe rolled up and hidden in your towel :) As I mentioned, I most recently came with friends to see "Hot Summer Nights", a nostalgia OD of Shaggy, En Vogue and TLC (my "future ex wife" Chili ;) They performed the tracks that made our 1990s summers and memories. On this particular Saturday - and something you can only get at an outdoor amphitheater- we were treated to the full moon rising over the water! The one improvement I would suggest is for them to have a DJ or even "canned music" between sets as there were periods of silence between the acts. As far as food, our group set down blankets near one of the bars where I enjoyed a couple of well blended & slightly sweet Captain Morgan mojitos. The sweet potato fries and chicken tenders with a Smokey bbq sauce from another vendor were also tasty! read more

I really enjoy going to concerts at the FPL Amphitheater. It's located at a great spot in downtown Miami and you have an awesome view of the city. You have seat options and lawn. Depending on the concert it might be more calm versus a more popular artist where there's not a lot of space to roam in the lawn area. Staff is mostly nice and there are lots of drink and food options, as well as bathrooms. You also usually have more than one area for merch which is a big plus! The sound is great as are the lights. The only downfall is if it rains, but of course that's with any outdoor venue. Definitely a great spot to catch your favorite artists! read more

Great venue for outdoor concerts. Sitting on the lawn could even be an option too here as it appeared really comfortable. If you're in the front rows, you've got absolutely clear view towards stage. Sound was absolutely horrible for Lauryn Hill though. Not sure if that's a stadium issue or not. The music drowned out her voice so bad one could not even distinguish the different songs being played. That part was a grave disappointment. read more

Until about a week or so ago, I'd never been to a show at this amphitheater and Bayfront Park. And now, having seen an awesome concert here, I never want to go to shows at any other venue! Klipsch Amphitheater offers everything that I want in a concert experience - intimate setting, great sound, tons of space, and concessions that are just a hop, skip, and a jump from the seats. Prices for drinks (and merch for that matter) are on par with any other venue. But most vendors take cards, thankfully (there's also an ATM on site if you're in need of cash). A friend and I saw Counting Crows a couple weeks ago, and the show was amazing. We got there after the 2 openers had finished, and were still able to snag an amazing spot on the lawn, just a bit to the right of the stage. We really couldn't have asked for a better view, with a nearly-full moon and the bay in the background, with all of Downtown Miami lit up behind us. The show was outstanding as well with great sound and a great performance by the band! I'm so disappointed that I haven't been to more shows at this amphitheater in my 10+ years in Miami. But I definitely won't make the same mistake going forward! We are definitely spoiled having such an amazing, intimate venue right at our fingertips, and to have great artists and bands like Counting Crows, Smashing Pumpkins, Sublime with Rome, and Nicki Minaj performing there! Of course, then there's parking. There's plenty of lots and garages in and around Bayside and the rest of Downtown, just know that the closer you park to the venue, the more you'll pay. The metro mover also drops off right out front, so that's a great option for those that live in the Brickell/Downtown/Edgewater area. If you haven't been to a show at Klipsch Amphitheater yet, it's time to change that! read more

Dear Bayfront Park Amphitheater, You are a true Miami concert classic. I have been to many different concerts here, from Ultra to Jay-Z, and most recently for the Thievery Corporation/Massive Attack show at the end of October. I have always enjoyed this as a concert venue because of the ample grass seating, the tons of people that can fit in here, and the delicious food vendors. The beers are pretty decently priced - I think I paid $8 or $9 per large cup of beer (more than a bottle), which seemed reasonable to me for it being a concert. The sound travels well throughout, which I guess is the point of an amphitheater, and the stage is pretty big, so with the right visuals, the people in the far back can see as well. What I have never liked are your 100-degree bathrooms that are located downstairs, almost underground. It's like a sauna in there and when one is kinda tipsy, the smell of hot bathroom can make one's stomach turn. If it's a beautiful South Florida day, then one is guaranteed a great time. However, if it's raining out, people need to prepare to get wet. You provide no real shelter from the rain for all of the people that actually fit inside, so for newcomers, ensure to check the weather and have a spare poncho in your bag, just in case. For those in the grass, bring a blanket to sit on and avoid the nastiness that is the actual dirt/grass/ground. Which reminds me of how pretty cool you are about backpacks and big purses. You do require a quick check at the door, but it's not too invasive. You seem to allow bags with blankets and cameras without any issues, and I've managed to bring in snacks and bottles of water/beer, tucked underneath my poncho and blanket. ;-) Overall, great times are always had and I have never seen a bad concert here. We had a good time in here. They have the stage and some chairs in front of it for whoever buy tickets with assign seating. The rest of the people can seat on the grass. You can take your own chairs and blanket or rent them over there. The light on the stage at night were beautiful and even though I did not expect it the sound was superb. The only thing i didn't like was the parking because I had to pay $25. Everything else's was good. It's a very fresh and romantic place ! La pasamos muy bien ahí. Bayfront Park has had a great venue for many years now and hosted quite a few memorable shows. Recently we saw Meghan Trainor and along with all the kids and their parents, we all had a great time. The venue itself has not changed all too much over the years, access to all areas is easy and the proximity to many other fun spots in downtown Miami is a breeze. There are plenty of food and merchandise vendors, and how can you forget the rental chairs vendor. Speaking of which, this is why I do give the amphitheater such a low review score. I wish they would allow folks to bring their own lawn chairs. They do not have to be fully standing, but the beach style that are low to the ground would be great. Instead, you are subject to an expensive rental, or the option my wife and I opt for, just bringing a blanket and sitting on the grass. This is not an issue, I would sometimes rather a chair is all. So yes, I am being bias and rating on a pet peeve, however, I am sure there are many who would agree and enjoy the venue so much more with options being open. Lastly, the employees do seem to be very friendly, somethnig I have seen on all opposite ends of the spectrum and music and sports venues, and so I feel there is a lot to be said for great service. I recently attended the Nikki Minaj Pink Print tour here. I got tickets on Groupon because the show was very close to my girlfriends birthday and she is a Nikki fan. It's difficult to review the venue and not the entire show/venue as a whole, but I will try... It's actually a relatively large venue as far as how many people were there compared to how small it looked when I first walked in. If you're 6'1" like me, you can see the stage from anywhere in the lawn area. If you're short, you should stick to the seating below the lawn. The vendors were OK. It looked like they had some decent food trucks. I had one item, a frozen lemonade. It was only $5 which was nice. It was also way to sweet. One major complaint that I really can't blame on the venue. It was extremely crowded and uncomfortably hot. The performances were so far apart that I thought I was going to die and we ended up having to leave the concert early because we didn't want our parking cost to double after the FOUR hours we budgeted for the concert. 4 stars for the venue. 5 stars for performances. 1 star for outdoor summer concerts in Miami. I would come again for sure, but preferably sitting downstairs or at least when the weather is cooler. read more

This is, by far, my favorite music venue in South Florida. Located right on the bay in downtown Miami, once you get through the vicious craziness that is Miami Traffic, going to a show here is awesome. Parking is everywhere nearby and you can usually find a spot in a lot or garage for between $10 and $20. Seems expensive, right? Then you think about how much it costs to park at the Arsht Center, or Broward Center, or at Panthers Arena, or Dolphin Stadium...get my drift? Not so bad anyomore, is it? As you walk into the amphitheater, the security is actually friendly! Yes, they're sticking their little prods all through your bag and you may get the occasional "extra friendly" pat-down, but they do it with a smile. They all understand that you're there to have a good time and want to help with that experience. Beer vendors are every 5 steps, but food can be limited. This last concert I went to boasted the ever-present Arepa cart, a hotdog cart, italian sausages, and burgers and chicken kabobs. We opted for the kabobs and an arepa (of course...I mean, come on...). They were great! Well worth the $8 price tag. What I love best about this venue is that no matter where you are, walking around the concourse, sitting on the lawn, dancing in any seat from either far side of the venue, the SOUND IS AMAZING! They have set it up so its perfect volume and crisp, clear sound everywhere! Seriously, you can't beat it. So if you see that a show is coming up there, don't hesitate. Great venue! The breeze made the summer heat bearable. There is enough room in the grass to not be cramped, or there is actual seating if you prefer. Good selection of the usual vendors, gyros, pretzels, burgers and beer. All in all, a venue I am happy to visit for my next concert. read more

Saw Modest Mouse and Brand New in concert at Bayfront Park Amphitheater on Friday night. They had some food trucks set up, but I only had a few drinks. Quality Bayfront Park Amphitheater is a pretty good venue for a concert, but it has a few issues. It was not the best concert I've seen, however I believe many of the problems would carry over to other events. Quantity It is a fairly large venue so even though it was a popular concert you could still find space. It is separated in seated area and then the lawn behind it, with the lawn definitely being the more popular choice with less space. Value The ticket prices tend to be pretty standard for a concert. The shows held here tend to be a level down from the star studded affairs at American Airlines, but still draw large crowds. The drinks however were definitely expensive, however that can be expected for a concert. Ambiance The Bayfront Park Amphitheater finds itself right on the water in downtown Miami. The stage is surrounded by a section of seats, with a large lawn area right above it. Some people in the lawn area also purchased seats, but most tended to stand. Around the lawn was a ring that did have some covering, so in case of rain you could pack under and stand a little dry. On the right end were several food trucks. Each side of the venue had several tents selling drinks and basic food items. It is venue that definitely helps to be taller because of how most people tend to stand. There are also several barriers that can obscure your view, which seems like a poor setup. The venue does give spectacular views of the buildings in downtown Miami, which are incredible, especially at night. Crowd It may have been a result of the actual concert, but it definitely was not the best crowd. Many people seemed disinterested and it kind of impacted the show. I do believe that other concerts may draw more passionate fans, but it did have a sobering effect that many people were not into the music. The crowd also skewed younger, which may also have had a negative impact. Service The only notable interaction I had was with the security guards who seemed to be on full alert. In the past I do not remember security being so thorough, but it was a bit comforting knowing how cautious they were being in light of recent events. Parking There are a bunch of parking options depending on how much you want to pay. There are lots, meters, and garages all nearby and the more blocks away you park the better the deals became. There is also public transportation options if you are willing to walk a bit to the metromover. Extra The Bayfront Park Amphitheater is a decent music venue. In the end if it is a show you want to see it is a perfectly good place to enjoy. However, weather definitely plays a role so in the summer expect to sweat. My only suggestion would be to choose lawn over seats, not just because it is cheaper, but it is a more enjoyable experience. read more

Came here for the Marilyn Manson/Smashing Pumpkins show. It was my first time coming here and I was pretty impressed. I showed up about two hour before the gates opened, mostly to grab a bite to eat before the show. There is plenty of parking nearby for a standard price. Since it's outside and the sound travels, I got to hear Manson during his soundcheck so that was pretty cool. The venue itself is cool. I was the in the back row in the first section (The one closest to the stage) and I was blown away by how close I was. Just a far bit of warning, if you have a lawn seat, you'll want to get there early cause it fills up quickly. The venue itself had standard beer and food stands. Beer was $10, water was $8. Food wasn't memorable and was pretty much the same food you'd find at a fair. Overall, this is a great music venue in Miami. So long as the artists I like keep coming, so will I. read more

I have the photos somewhere to remind me of what an amazing time Ultra was in 2005. Rejoice, all, for Ultra returns to Bayfront Park this year. I cannot bloody wait. Agree with what Sabrina said about the bathrooms, especially during Ultra, but here's hoping the renovations and extra sponsorship dollars might have helped things along. Ugh. Front row seats for the first time in my life and this crappy venue puts a stack of giant speakers 6 feet front my face, totally ruining the music and the experience. The throb of the bass is so powerful I feel like my guts are flipping around inside me with every note. What a lousy, amateur setup. Visiting Miami for a conference 2 weeks ago, came across The Bayfront Park Amphitheater hosting ArtOfficial. The venue was open air concert style, the Bay water behind and roving stage lights out front. Most importantly, the band "ArtOfficial" was inspiring and energizing. I loved their song AO Cadence, and of course Vitamins & Minerals. I generally listen to inspirational music, jazz, world-beat, or rock... and I'm well into my 40's but the music seemed to flawlessly incorporate all of the above and more; including unmistakable Latin and Hip Hop. Together, the venue and the band made my Miami experience unforgettable. read more
