I gave this guy a chance by letting him know that this wasn't my first time in Paris (in fact, it was the 5th or 6th time within a year), but he didn't get the hint. Host: The tip isn't included. Me: Tip? This isn't my first time in Paris... Host: Usually we give around a 10% tip here in France, but you don't have to if you don't want. Me: Just tell me how much you want as a tip... Host: 2€? After a long journey, I was dropped off at CDG, successfully navigated the metro, checked in and was starving. I looked up a few places on Yelp, hoping for a place that was English friendly to make my first meal in the big city an easy one. This restaurant came up and I packed my purse and headed out the door. The restaurant has a great vibe and does cater to single diners with no problem. The wait staff was also super friendly and super nice. They gave me an English menu and checked on me frequently to see I was doing ok. I ordered the Bjorn crepe. A delicious thin crepe topped with cured salmon, chevre chaud and crema. It really hit the spot. I also got a glass of their sweet apple cider, which was just the right amount of alcohol after a long, long journey. Their dessert crepes were also awesome. After a week in Paris, I began to crave something traditionally californian - which is to say I was really hurting for some kind of Mexican food. All the same, we dutifully found our way to Crêperie framboise Champs Elysées, knowing that we could fill our stomaches with our quota of burritos and quesadillas as soon as we were back stateside. That said, upon reviewing the menu, I could not help but order their "Empenada" crepe which featured spicy beef, onions, parmesan cheese, a sunny side up egg, tomatoes (similar to pico de gallo) and onions. My craving for "Mexican food" was satiated, and, more importantly, it was the best crepe I had in France and possibly the best meal of my vacation. My family thoroughly enjoyed their own crepes, which included desert options and the smoked salmon based "Bjorn". The only complaint was their limited beer options, which consisted of what were essentially fun sized heineken bottles. That said, come for the food. I brought two of my friends from home here based on the great reviews. It was very good! Everyone ate more than planned. We got there about 15 minutes after opening on a national holiday, so I was worried they weren't open due to the handful of people occupying the large space, but by the time we left the place was packed. I had a galette of egg, tomato, and cheese, and my friends had ones with ham & egg and egg & cheese. All were happy! The crepe itself was cooked properly, the insides were melted together wonderfully. My only personal complaint is that a little of the egg white on the top was not fully cooked, but the runny yolk was warm enough that it didn't matter. We ended up all ordering dessert crepes which were better than I expected! I couldn't tell if the whipped cream was from a can or freshly whipped but the salted caramel sauce was delicious and the crepe was beautiful. I got the duck confit, salad, onions, and potatoes crepe, and all the toppings were outside the crepe! I never had a crepe like that before, but it was delicious. I got the Framboise combo with an Empanada Gallete, a Pommes Crepe, and the apple cider. The Empanada Gallette had seasoned beef, caramelized onions, basil, an egg, and parmesan cheese. The Pommes Crepe had apple slices, salted caramel, nuts, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Nothing more needs be said. It was delicious. Oh so delicious. I wanted authentic crepes in Paris and went onto search all over yelp for some suggestions. We came across this place and was not disappointed. We ordered the empanada and the björn for dinner. The björn has smoked salmon on top of some greens with goat cheese and chive cream on a buckwheat pancake and the empanada had ground beef with sunny side up type egg and thinly sliced cheese. The empanada was okay but I loved the björn. It was really good. For dessert we got the banana crepe which included a crepe that had sliced banana drizzled with dark chocolate and a scoop of vanilla ice cream with slivers of hazelnut. So delicious! My fiancé loved the ice cream but I, on the other hand, thought it was too rich. The waitress was really friendly and was patient with our lack of French speaking skills. Our family really enjoys crepe, and since we are In Paris, our daughter insists we have to find a good creperie. Our kids ordered the Pomme, which has apple, salted caramel along with ice-cream.
