I visited in early May to have a few pieces framed. I told Graham that I was moving at the end of…read morethe month, but wanted to have the framing done beforehand due to their stellar reputation, and he said that this would be no problem. Because I was spending a large amount of money, he offered a package price including a digital scan of one of the pieces I was having framed, a sentimental image of my great-grandfather. About a week before the move, I received a call that they had either forgotten to order or misordered one of the frames. I clarified that I was moving at the end of the month, and again was reassured. In the end, I received the call that the images were ready on the last day of the month - my moving day. My husband had to drive back a couple of days later to pick up the framed pieces. I called Graham the next day, complimenting the framing but noting that I'd not yet received the digital image. He assured me that it was on its way. A few weeks later, I called again to follow up, whereupon he said that he had lost some images from his hard drive but was working to recover them, and promised to follow up via email. He didn't, so I emailed about a week later. I was told that the image was lost, but that if I wanted to drive back again with the photo, he would make the digital image then. I reminded Graham that I had moved, and asked if he would be willing to provide a partial refund instead of the digitization. He responded with a very angry email, noting that the digitization was a courtesy he had offered due to the large amount I had purchased, and thus he was basically doing it "for free" and should not be asked to provide any refund. The framing work alone was excellent, five stars. Three stars deducted for multiple episodes of poor customer service related to this order.

Mr Graham, who I am assuming owns this store, is a dishonorable, unprofessional, pugnacious,…read morerepugnant, and overall repulsive personality to deal with. I terribly regret "working" with him (in quotes because he did not actually finish the job that he is so clearly incompetent at). I had paid $750 for three 14inch x 14inch artworks to be framed, on October 15, 2024. I was given in writing that this would be completed by the first week of November. After the first week of November passes, I call them on November 8 to check on the status of the order since I had not heard from them. On the call, Mr Graham notifies me that the frame I ordered was on back order and he did not have the work done yet (mind you, when I had placed the order, they had called their supplier to check regarding the availability of the frame, since it was an irregular frame). He further informs me that the work should be done by November 11. Not having heard back from him on November 15, I once again called to check the status of the order. On the phone, he gets short and tells me, "I have four customers waiting in line, I told you I will call you once the work is done." They are willing to accept new customers without completing the work for prior orders. On November 18, when I call again to inquire on my order, I told him that I will be leaving on November 22 and would need it before them. He goes on to tell me, "it should be complete by end of day today, but definitely before the end of the week." My mistake for believing that. He further tells me that I will be offered a partial refund for the delay. Come November 21, his associate, Jezzelle Westmaas, calls me twice though its during work hours so I cannot answer and call her back within 30 minutes, twice. She had not picked up but I saw she had left a 2minute+ voicemail, with no words. I assume it's to inform to come pick up the frames, since it is close to 6 weeks that I had placed this order. On November 22, I go into the store to pick up the frames. Mr Graham says only two frames of the three are "complete" and that he did not have the frame for the third. In fact, they were not complete. They did not have any hanging mechanism on the frames. When asked about the hanging wire or hooks, he tells me, "it's going to take 10 minutes to install them." I let him know that if it needed ten minutes, it could have been completed in the near 6 weeks he had the frames. At which point, he informs me, "get out of the store, I am not giving you any money back." Unlike him, I had not raised my voice or been short with him during our conversation. When I am about to leave, he tries to tell me, "let me at least give you half the money back." Mr Graham -- after the way you spoke with me and told me to "get out," why would you expect me to speak with you any further, when you are clearly at fault? Just look at the manner in which he response to people in other Google reviews if you do not trust me. Later, he texts me offering a refund (see attached screenshot). Please, Mr Graham, don't worry about the refund as I have initiated a fraud claim with American Express for the full amount for incomplete service provided by you. To add insult to the injury, see the photos of the shoddy framing work that he was able to complete. The frames are dirty and unusable. I will be finding someone else to salvage this job. PS: if you do somehow end up at this store despite all the scathing reviews, notice the utter and haphazard disarray they are in before giving them your business.

I don't like hurting a business over one bad experience, and maybe that's all this was - but wow! I left Framing Depot without a birthday gift for my husband and feeling completely disrespected. I wasn't treated right - plain and simple. I've used Framing Depot before and had good results, so this came out of nowhere. I placed an order ahead of my husband's birthday. On the Saturday before (they're closed Sundays), I called to confirm pickup. I gave my last name, was asked to repeat it a few times - my name is tricky and perhaps the line was bad. Then I was told - with clear irritation - "Can you just spell it?" I replied, "Sure. You just had to ask." No doubt I was a bit annoyed with his tone. When I arrived, the mat colour was wrong. The owner pointed to the paperwork and insisted it matched the order. I hadn't filled it out the paperwork, and said as much. Instead of owning the mistake, he kept pointing to the paperwork, so I firmly reminded him I hadn't filled it out - I didn't work there. Once he finally acknowledged the error, he offered to fix it - but not until Monday, the day of the birthday, which didn't work for me. He told me I had an attitude - and that I'd had it long before I arrived - referencing the earlier phone call where I'd said, "You just have to ask" when asked to spell my name. He said, " I was there, he did ask!" It became clear I was dealing with someone who was already angry with me. I said I'd come back to speak to someone else, as the interaction was going sideways. He repeated that I had an "attitude," again citing the call. I reiterated I'd be leaving and would speak with someone else. Then, out of nowhere, he said, "You're not getting a discount." I hadn't asked for one though, frankly, it would've been appropriate given the error and how I was being spoken to. He repeated that I had a bad attitude, told me he was the owner, and said, "I don't give a f***." His words. I responded, "Clearly." He seemed visibly charged and completely unaware of how he was coming across. I wasn't scared, but it did occur to me that I was alone in a store with a man twice my size who was being irrational. I admit I had a bit of tone on the phone - in response to someone being irritated with me. But even if I concede I had an attitude, does that really warrant this kind of response? "I'm the owner and I don't give a f***"? I told him I wouldn't be taking or paying for the frame. He was in agreement with not continuing to do business with one another. He then tried to break it in front of me and managed to crack it. I left empty-handed and rattled. An aggressive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable behaviour from someone running a customer-facing business. But as he said -- he didn't give a f***.

Me being the lazy person I am, I decided to get it framed the night before his ceremony. I went to two different framing shops and they said they'd need a couple days to frame it so I just gave up. I passed by this shop whilst going home and decided to stop by. I told the owner about my situation and he put aside what he was doing to work on re-framing my grandpas prized heirloom. Told me to come back in 2 hours. Great staff, very friendly, loads of selections and very convenient location, located right beside Spadina Station. Professional and well maintained shop.

They had my contacts and said they would get back to me when it was finished but were very busy and it could be a while. Never heard from them again. Realized a week ago (Aug. 2020) still hadn't heard. Went to the store and found it locked and vacant. I paid more than $200 for the frame, and the painting is worth hundreds more. None of their contacts work now, so they've vanished without a trace. With my painting. Guess i'll never get it back.
