Framebridge is a pretty incompetent company. Not only did the first items I had framed take months to get back, but the frame quality was not up to par (there was scratches/chips all over.) I've brought the frame back to be reframed, however the frame came back with even more scratches. Even worse, Framebridge also damaged a very special photo while they were framing (which is questionable already) so I had to purchase that same photo in which they damaged AGAIN for the SECOND time. Luckily the photos were replaceable but I can't even imagine what I would do if they were not. Lastly, the frames are incredibly hard to frame as a gallery wall to be level with the photos next to each other (due to their hanging hardware, yet another headache.) Therefore, I would not recommend Framebridge, at least for not one of a kind items. The only good thing about Framebridge is that they provided me credit due to the issues and time wasted going back and forth for me to get them to fix their issues. read more

Ok, I'm sold. Bang the gavel, put a orange "Sold" sticker on me, ship me off via USPS. I'm 100 percent sold. So... it's funny cause I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts (How I Built This) not to long ago and heard the story framebridge. The funniest thing about that story was that the founder was like "people come up to me all the time and say, I had this sort of same idea." I am... totally one of those people. I was like, the framing industry is ripe to be disrupted. Why is it so inconvenient, and expensive, and seem like such a hassle. Here is our disrupter. I went into Framebridge with my vintage American Flag I wanted framed and I asked, "Hey, I just wanted to see if I could get an idea of how much it would be to frame this." I put it on the table, it fit into one of the predrawn boxes, and she gave me a prize. No haggling me, no upselling me matting, no waiting and waiting for an available someone to help me. In contrast, I was at Michaels and waited for 20 minutes for someone to give me a ballpark estimate of how much it was gonna be to frame it, and it was I think 40 percent more expensive. So, she took a picture of my flag from above, and then was able to digitally put a frame around my flag to show me how it looked. She explained to me that it was gonna be stitched on (which would cost a little extra), but it since it was fabric, it was the best way to frame it. She showed me an example of a jersey that was stitched onto backing and put in a frame. So I think it was 124 to have it framed AND that included it being shipped back to my house! So basically 100 dollar for a custom frame. Just amazing. I think the quote from michaels was like 220 or something. One thing that is different about framebridge is that they use a plexiglass type material on front instead of glass. They say it's anti-glare and that it's UV protected. The UV is what I really cared about, as I don't want to the flag to sunbleach in the frame. We're suppose to get our framed things any day now! I can't wait. So far everything at the store has been awesome. And the woman told us that they have a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee. So if I'm unhappy with the framing, I can come back and they can figure something out. Definitely would recommend this place. Can't wait to get more stuff framed- I have literally a pile I've been saving. read more

Second visit to get another item framed and use said credit resulted in their framing department slicing up my poster. I love buying prints from local shops and places I visit. The problem is, I never get around to buying a frame for them so they kind of just sit in the closet until I hopefully, eventually, get it framed. Enter Framebridge! Of course, we've heard of them through podcast ads and instagram and what not. But what I love is that they are local!! Woohoo!! Whilst on a shopping trip in Bethesda Row, I happened to find a parking spot right in front of Framebridge. I took this as a sign that I should go in and at least consider framing something. Their shop is small, but packed with character. I was guided through their sizing and frame options. I chose a pick from my phone and air dropped it to the associate. She then calculated the maximum size the photo and frame could be based on the picture quality. Next thing I knew, I was handing over my visa! There's something magical about a cherished memory being made prettier by a frame. Even though my idea of framing photos involves a trip to dollar tree and printing from a Walgreens kiosk, I happily paid someone ten times more to do it for me. Why? I don't know! But I'm glad I did. A week late the frame was delivered to my home and now hangs on my bedroom wall. And I love it!! read more

I wanted to frame a unique cocktail menu that I brought back from my travels so I did some research and Framebridge started to pop up in my facebook feed. I saw that they recently opened a retail location in Bethesda near my office so I decided to check it out. The store front is small but very bright and modern. You can make an appointment but I just dropped in. Someone was available to help me so I didn't have to wait. They have a lot of frame choices in the store that you can hold up next to your art and see what you like. I find that very helpful. It took me a while to decide on something too and they were very patient with me. You can add a mat(5 color options) which is included in their fixed price. The fixed price also includes shipping and hanging hardware. For extra $25 you can also do "float mount" which makes it look like the poster is floating in the frame. I did my cocktail menu that way and was very pleased with how it looks. I also used their online app to frame photo from my phone and also dropped off more posters for them to frame. Each time I'm very happy with quality of the framed pieces and the quality of the frames. They will also frame pretty much anything you have - a piece of quilt, t-shirt, tassels, baby shoes, etc. The only thing I have a little bit issue with is how much bubble wrap they use to protect the pieces when shipped. I get it's necessary but if they can come up with a more environment-friendly way to pack the pieces would be nice. But this also speaks to how well they pack the framed art, not a scratch on them, in perfect condition. read more

I've been buying some art prints for a house we're renovating in Baltimore, and I needed some custom framing done. This Bethesda location is the closest Framebridge store to Baltimore. So I planned a hike at Great Falls and then stopped by this Framebridge after to get two prints framed. Their framing options were great, and the prices are very reasonable. What really made me love this visit was the customer service; Framebridge staff really walk you through the whole process and your options. I ended up with two framed pieces I really love. FYI: Framebridge uses acrylic, not glass. I have no issue with this, but they kind of hide that on their website a bit, so I didn't know until I got there. I left my art with them after paying for the frames I wanted made and received my framed art prints less than two weeks later! They look great! You can also do this all online if you prefer (by requesting a tube to be mailed to you), but I really loved the process of coming into the store, especially for my first time using Framebridge. All in all, I was really impressed by the process, the customer service, and the quality and look of my pieces! My least favorite thing about this shop is the location. Bethesda Row is crowded, with tons of people, shops, chain fast casual restaurants, etc. And we had to park in a garage (in and out of Framebridge so quickly we didn't have to pay for the parking at least), but it's still a hassle of a location in my grumpy opinion (although would be convenient if you were doing other shopping in the area). I'll be back for more art framing despite the location, but I think I'll try early morning next time! read more

My experience with Framebridge has been weighing on me for almost a year. When I happened to see the five-star ratings I decided it was my responsibility to share my experience so that others will have a more complete picture of the service experience with Framebridge. In January 2020, I decided it was finally time to have a one of a kind piece of art from South America framed. I purchased it on a trip in 2005. To get it home, I had to remove the canvas from the stretched frame and for fifteen years it was carefully hanging on the wall with tacks. With some holiday gift money I decided to take the plunge and get it professionally framed. I knew because it had not been stretched for fifteen years that it should not be re-stretched. I also knew it should not have adhesive applied to the back. I went to Framebridge with realistic expectations--simply a more protected way to display the piece. When I consulted with the people in the Framebridge store about my request--no adhesive, no stretching or folding of the canvas--they said no problem and wrote those details on the order. Well. NONE of my directions were followed. The canvas was attached to a board using strong adhesive and the art was folded around the board at 1/4 to 1/2 inch into the painted area, cracking the paint, covering many of the painting's details, and folding the canvas. Destroying a painting that I had loved for fifteen years. The story of my nightmare is long, very long. Many trips to the Framebridge store, tons of emails and phone calls. Going to lots framers and art experts around town--many would not touch it because of the damage done, others quoting thousands of dollars and many months of work. When I finally found a framer who would remove the adhesive and re-frame the piece, Framebridge paid for the repair, but not for the cost of the reframing. This new framing, of course, was much more expensive because of the damage. Now a formerly much loved piece of art brings me sadness each time I see it on the wall. Once proudly displayed, it now hangs on a seldom seen wall because I don't want the reminder of the lost time and money, and the reminder of such a negative experience. No longer do I see the lovely Ecuadorian market where I purchased the piece from a local artisan, but intense regret, hours of time on logistics, and the sad looks in the eyes of art experts. If you have something that is irreplaceable, go somewhere else. read more
