However, after speaking with the gentleman who helped me, he recommended a white frame to highlight the painting's bright spots. I'm so glad that he did. In the end, Framer McGees set the painting in a white floating frame. It's beautiful! The turnaround time was a little under two weeks and I was able to hang it on our wall as soon as I brought it home. Pricing was more than reasonable for the quality of the work. As soon as we find our next piece of art, we'll be bringing it to Framer McGees.

Framebridge is a pretty incompetent company. Not only did the first items I had framed take months…read moreto get back, but the frame quality was not up to par (there was scratches/chips all over.) I've brought the frame back to be reframed, however the frame came back with even more scratches. Even worse, Framebridge also damaged a very special photo while they were framing (which is questionable already) so I had to purchase that same photo in which they damaged AGAIN for the SECOND time. Luckily the photos were replaceable but I can't even imagine what I would do if they were not. Lastly, the frames are incredibly hard to frame as a gallery wall to be level with the photos next to each other (due to their hanging hardware, yet another headache.) Therefore, I would not recommend Framebridge, at least for not one of a kind items. The only good thing about Framebridge is that they provided me credit due to the issues and time wasted going back and forth for me to get them to fix their issues.

Enter the purchase of LA BLOB- after years of obsessing over this movie poster, I finally pulled the trigger and bought it. When I unwrapped it, the entire poster took up my QUEEN BED. I was completely overwhelmed and asked a friend (artist and framer) where I could possibly take such a thing. He responded immediately with Allen framers. Harry worked to find me a wonderful frame that would complement the poster and helped with the install. He worked with my budget and had great suggestions about what would make the poster look good and what I should consider for resale value. This is a great, professional, efficient and friendly framer. That counts! I have been immensely impressed not only by the high quality of their work, but also by how they respond quickly and efficiently - recently a 1980 work of mine from the Cuba Series entered the process of being donated to a museum, and the donor (a) wanted it professionally cleaned and (b) reframed, as the original 1980 frame had received multiple injuries during the last 40 plus years. Time was an issue, but I emailed Frames by Rebecca, gave them a description of what kind of moulding I wanted, and the size, and the fact that there was an urgent need to have the frame done in a couple of days. As we say in the Navy, they "turned and burned", created the frame, and now the painting will be on its way to Miami on Friday. Please support your local framer and go see them - I give them my highest possible endorsement!

She…read moresold the business a few years back, and while the new owners are pleasant and seem willing to try to make their customers happy, each job I've given them ended up with some error in them. In one case the framer promised to make a photocopy of the back of the artwork (it had some information written on it) and attach the copy to the back of the framed piece. He wrote the instruction on the order form, but whoever made the frame neglected to follow it, and now that information is lost, unless I have the frame disassembled. In another case, I brought in two pieces, and the assistant attached the supplementary info from Piece A to the back of Piece B. These things never happened when Rebecca ran the shop.

Knowing that I need frames for at least 5 paintings I stopped by to look at what is available. Right of the bat I was told they work by appointment only. I told the lady ok, can I just look at the wall of frames and see if anything interests me and I want to make an appointment. Because if I don't see anything I like then what is the point to make an appointment and drive back here from where I live. So I found a frame that I thought was interesting. I pulled out my phone to find a picture of the painting that I was thinking to match it with. The lady cam up to me and said no pictures please and asked me to leave and make an appointment. I was shocked as it is not like I need her help to determine if it would work for my painting. She had no clients in the store and while I am seating here in the parking lot writing this review for the past 15 min no one came in for the appointment either. How do you do business with people like that? Seems like she just didn't care. All I can say it is probably not her business because otherwise it just wouldn't make any sense. The flooring store next door has an amazing customer service btw! Learn from your neighbor!
