I thought I had walked into a new business in Wakefield because I had recently noticed the sign, but the owner (Jim) said that he'd been there for 18 years!!! I asked him if he sold used laptops, and he did not, but then he mentioned that they're easy to find online and proceeded to show me some viable options under $200 online. This led to a conversation about my laptop that had died and he said that he could probably fix it for less than it would cost be to buy a used computer of lesser quality. I brought it in and by the end of the day he had fixed my computer and gained a loyal customer. read more

Super service! A blast from the past for getting timely repair where the owner is looking out for you. I called Jim at 2:30pm on a Friday and asked if he did data recovery. He said of course and when I told him I would drop it by that afternoon and expect it a week later Jim said there was a good chance he'd have it that afternoon. Sure enough, by 5:30 he had all the data from a dead machine on a memory card. I saw him deal with four customers during the time I was there and he treated them with total respect and tried his best to educate to current best practices without being pretentious. His pricing was really good too. Bring your dead and down trodden there with confidence and he will make things good. Thank you Mr. Frame! read more

Great service. I came in the morning and my pc wasn't working, after troubleshooting for 3-5 hours, they were able to get it completely fixed and good to go. Very friendly and cheap and will definitely go back if I have any more issues. read more

I wish I could give 10 stars for a review. My computer was dead with blue screen and totally useless. I was in the middle of a project when a power loss caused me computer loss. I brought my computer in,,,,SAME DAY.. I had my computer back. Not only was Jim Knowledgeable but he was beyond honest and I found a decent human being, who I recommend to everyone! read more

I went in because I was in the area and my new laptop has a loose key. Their was a single guy sitting on a stool. I asked if he repaired the key or had a new retaining clip. Right away he said I would have to replace the entire keyboard. I responded can you just fix the key? He said no it's too small, I said aren't you computer guys and repair computers....., anyway he wasn't rude and referee me to another place. I am just annoyed he couldn't take the time. I watched a couple of you tube videos and ordered a replacement online. Once it came it it was repaired in about 10 min. Maybe because they would of had to order one and it wouldn't be that big of a job for them so why bother, I don't know. read more

This is the best computer repair shop I have ever used. I have been a customer for 5+ years. What I like is the pricing is very, very reasonable, the work they do is done correctly the first time so I don't have to go back, and the work is almost always done the day I bring the computer in so my downtime is very limited. Other shops have kept my computer for days or even more than a week to do the repairs and this is a non-starter for me. When I am purchasing a new computer Jim Frame helps me figure out what to buy in terms of how powerful the processors should be, how much memory the computer should have and what the graphics card should be. If there is a problem that he can't fix he will tell me that before I am charged anything. My experience is Jim Frame is candid and honest and has the technical chops to keep my computer running in top form. read more

I was having issues with my gaming rig and after hours troubleshooting myself I wasn't able to fix my issues. I brought my rig into Frame PC at noon on a Saturday and after a few hours the issues were fixed and my PC was running better than ever! Affordable price and intelligent staff got me back gaming easy as pie! If issues ever arise again I definitely know FramePC will be my first call. read more

I have gone to several computer repair shops and Frame PC is my top pick. There are a bunch of reasons why: 1. I trust his advice on both repairing my Dell laptop and also giving me free advice on what computer I should buy. Although a computer is central to my work I don't know how many rams of memory I need, or how big the hard drive should be or any of the other issues when purchasing a computer. The owner, Jim Frame, knows all this and offers free advice on what to buy! 2. He has always repaired my computer correctly the first time. Whether this is a dead hard drive or malware that I got on my computer. 3. You deal with the owner. 4. Fast. This is essential for me as I have to have my computer to work. No computer no work. I simply can not wait the 3-5 days many computer repair shops take to get my computer back to me. 5. Price. Remarkably, he is inexpensive. 6. If he can not help he won't take your money. As the one star review says, he didn't think he could help so he didn't take the job. For me that is a reason to go to a shop not avoid it. read more

I cannot imagine why the first review was poor. I read the Google reviews and visited Jim at Frame Computer. WOW. He listened to my concern and immediately tested my computer. Bad monitor and not worth fixing. He explained how temporarily I could hook my laptop up to my SMART TV with a wireless keyboard and HDMI cable, so I could have use of the computer. Then he proceeded to go through the best type of laptop for my needs, the important components, and suggested top models. He spent an entire half hour with me and didn't ask for a thing. Nevertheless I left him with a nice payment for his time and went on my way with a treasure trove of tech info about what to get in a new laptop and malware/security protection. You need to come here. Absolutely 5-stars, hands down. I'm probably going to contract with his business for a few hours of tutoring soon. read more

A friend recommended Jim at Frame PC, telling me he was honest, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. He's been my computer person since 2015. I call him when I get a computer virus and he fixes it virtually, cleans up the mistakes I've made and advised me on a new computer (and transferred the data at his incredibly reasonable hourly fee.) I call him for other computer issues too - he's taught me how to make a mailing list - something I had frustrated myself over and spent hours trying to do on my own. If you live in or near South County and have computer issues, I really recommend that you check Jim out. read more

We highly recommend FramePC and have used him for issues with our business computer for over five years. He upgrades and cleans up our computer as needed and will even do remote access when it isn't convenient for us to take it to his office. Jim at Frame PC has been a Godsend. I've been a customer since he opened his doors. He is always there for any questions. His work is exemplary. If the problem is such that "fixing" would cost more than "replacing" he will tell you, rather than soak you. He is a gem. I highly recommend FramePC. My husband and I have used his services for over seven years. Jim Frame updates and cleans out our desktop and laptop computers as needed. He has even sericed my desktop remotely when I couldn't get to town. Jim's prices are very competitive and he provides same-day service when needed. I was vacationing in the area and had a laptop catastrophe. The guy who runs this place waited for me after closing time to help me get up and running and didn't even charge me extra. Turns out I had a damaged bootloader or something like that and he fixed it in like 20 minutes and I practically had to twist his arm to get him to accept any money. read more

I hesitated when I first went there years ago because it is a small shop. He has saved me numerous times from crashes recovering my data every time. (I don't back up often enough.) He was also helpful when I bought my last computer in making suggestions about what I needed and which were easiest to upgrade or repair. Honest and reasonably priced. read more
