The styles are geared towards prom and pageant with a heavy inventory of bling style dresses. As another reviewer (Jacqueline F.) mentioned, if blinged out is your thing, this is your place. The dress style they cater is youth focused. I'm not saying this store is not for older folk but depending on style preferences, it may or may not be what you're into. Although my mom didn't find a winner, I will say the dresses are beautiful but I'd like to reemphasize with a disclaimer, they are prom and pageant focused. I can't seem to pinpoint their 2022 entry level pricing but on average, most of the tickets I saw tend to run in the mid $400s. I didn't see a dedicated parking lot. They're situated along busy Dempster and we found free street parking around the corner.

When we asked for help, she dismissed us without a second glance--as if we didn't belong. If it hadn't been for a remarkable salesperson named Bella, we would've walked out on the spot. Bella was calm, respectful, and incredibly kind to my daughter. She treated her with dignity and care during a difficult and deeply personal fitting process. It's important to note: very few places still offer this level of specialized help. Bella did it with grace--and was then openly mocked by the owner in front of us. That a younger business owner would belittle a more experienced and clearly valued staff member, especially in front of customers, is not just unprofessional--it borders on workplace harassment. When I got home, I looked up reviews- multiple sites. The pattern is undeniable: customers repeatedly praise the staff--while calling out the owner's outrageous behavior. And disturbingly, she often responds to reviews by insulting the customers themselves. One person described how a disabled individual was ridiculed. Sadly, this has become more common. A boutique in Northbrook called Such a Deal became notorious for shaming young girls who didn't match the owner's preferred body type. That store eventually closed. Max's in Highland Park also developed a reputation for demeaning its customers. While it's still open, the backlash permanently altered its client base--and its standing in the community. To Bella: thank you. You were the only reason we stayed. You treated my daughter like she mattered. You deserve better.

Not only did she recommend pieces and bring them to me in the fitting room, but she went into detail on what and how I can wear each piece for different styles and looks. Since that first experience, I have been back to her store every other day picking up items one piece at a time because her items are chic and unique, high quality, and very affordable. I got a smoking hot red jumpsuit for under 100 dollars, unreal! After my next couple visits, I had an email in my inbox from Grace thanking me for shopping with her and that she really enjoys talking to me while I shop, and now we talk almost every day! She keeps me up to date with what she has coming in and when, sends me pictures so I know what I want to try on during my visits ahead of time, and is always willing to put items aside/hold them until I have a chance to come in. When the package arrived all of the items came and surprisingly, they were unwrinkled and looked really nice. He tried on the clothes and everything fit very well. There was time to ship things back and get them shipped in time for the wedding, but there was no need to return anything because the tuxedo fit well and looked great. I'm sure that he will will look great at this upcoming wedding! I highly recommend The Black Tux at Nordstrom!
