My friends and I ate at Francisco's on a Saturday early evening. we all agreed that the food was very good and they served generous portions. Five of us each ordered something different and no one was dissatisfied. I'm sorry to say the restaurant was practically empty and the waitress seemed less than cheerful though efficient. We we're in Henderson for a job, so we wanted to try something new. My work hadn't transferred my pay like they were supposed to and I didn't see until after we had ordered. We apologized and asked Katia, our server to cancel it. She told us we could come back to pay, not realizing we were from out of town. When we explained, she offered to take care of our entire check herself! There really are angels working here! On top of her generosity, the food was hot and delicious. If we ever come back to Henderson, we will be stopping by again, and hope Katia will be there for us to thank properly! read more

Third time in a year to visit this restaurant. The first time, we were seated and then forgotten. They finally brought out chips and ice water...and then forgot us again. After 30 minutes, and multiple eye contacts with the staff, we left the ten dollar bill on the table promising ourselves never never to come back. 6 months later, we decided to give it another try assuming it had just been a bad night. Few cars in the parking lot, one or two families at the tables. We waited for 15 minutes at the hostess stand waiting for somebody to walk by, to make eye contact, and hopefully seat this. No one ever came. We left promising ourselves, again, never to come back. Tonight, almost 6 months later, hopelessly optimistic that additional cars in the parking lot possibly meant a management change, we visited again. We were seated quickly. The waitress was polite and friendly. But the food was terrible. They served my daughter something they called a cheese enchilada. I believe it was Velveeta wrapped in a tortilla and heated in a microwave. It was horrible. I had the chicken taco salad. I suspect there was a quarter of a chicken breast diced up into the smallest pieces that even a fork found it difficult to stab them. The chicken was sprinkled over a shallow bed of lettuce with a few tomatoes but and dressing. I had to ask for dressing and I think I surprised them. The taco shell was more crisp on the bottom than it was on the sides. It was stale and likely had been out all day. While the service was okay, the food was far below acceptable limits. The price would have been reasonable if the food had been marginally edible. So I will conclude this review by saying... Unless we see a sign that says "Under New Management", we will not be going back. It's really a shame. There no good Mexican food restaurants in Henderson, Texas. With a little effort, this restaurant could be a top draw for the little town. Restaurant owners often forget that while it cost more to make great food and provide good service... great food and good service will bring in more people... who are, like me, willing to pay for great food and good service. Was in Henderson for a drive in the country with my wife and 26 year old daughter. We decided we wanted some Mexican food. We first stopped at another restaurant in town, but they were lined up out the door. We continued down the street and noticed Francisco's. There were only a few cars in the lot, so we thought we could get in and out quickly. Boy was I wrong!! Among other things the sign on the door said tables and menus would be sanitized after each guest. We were seated quickly and given chips and salsa. Then we waited, and waited, and waited some more. I was finally able to catch a server and asked for a menu. (By this time we had been there almost 25 minutes) She then told us we had to look at the menu online, and she gave us their website. That's fine, but it would have been nice if she'd told us that when we were seated. We went online to make our selections, then watched as the server walked all around, in and out of the kitchen, etc., but refused to make eye contact with me our my daughter who was facing across from me. She probably passed our table a minimum of 6-8 times refusing to look over. I was finally able to get her attention, (almost had to trip her) and she said she'd be back to take our order, but then again we saw her walking all over, but wouldn't come back. About 45 minutes after we went in, she finally came back and took our order. She was very friendly, but I can't understand what was going on with her for the first 45 minutes. We did get our food order approximately 5-7 minutes later, and actually the food was quite good, but that didn't outweigh the horrible service. In addition for about the first 30 minutes we were in the restaurant, all of the staff was wearing face masks (which was great) unfortunately they weren't doing much good, because the all had them pulled down to their chin, providing no protection. It was, without a doubt, the worst service experience in my 67 years on this planet. read more

We were in town for a goat show and there were only a couple restaurants still open at 9:30pm. We tried to order margaritas but the server said, "we don't serve alcohol, we are a Christian restaurant." After about 2 seconds of slight shock, I ordered a water and my friend ordered an iced tea. After a long travel work day my husband and I stopped in for our first time. We ordered the fried avocado appetizer, it was delicious, could use an additional shrimp or larger size shrimp but very yummy. We had the carne asada and the Rebeca's plate. Both were very tasty. This was one of our favorite places but service and flavor has gone down hill... We ordered a fried avocado and on top of no knife or small plates in order to share the appetizer the shrimp inside was under cooked and probably the reason I now feel sick. The steak quesadillas were completely bland along with the rice and beans. The waitress was too busy eating to fill our drinks or pick up the empty appetizer plate. We will never return.. read more

We stopped on our way to a ballgame in Hallsville. The parking lot was full so we took the risk to stop and try it out. The salsa tasted like Pace and the queso was subpar. We ordered quickly and sat there for about 45 min. The table next to us who had ordered 10 min before us got up and left after paying for their drinks. We paid for our queso and drinks and left. The portions are small, but full of flavor. The owner Francisco just happened to be our waiter tonight even through being pulled in all directions, he made sure we had everything we needed and always with a smile. The children's menu is perfect portions for kids and a great price. Prices are perfect for a casual night out with the family who wants good Mexican food at a good price. We came in on a Wednesday night before 7pm and had terrible service. I don't think I should even call it "service." We stood at the hostess stand for about 10 minutes and never saw an employee. Guests started piling up behind us and still no host was in sight. A young girl appeared. She had no uniform or name-tag so we weren't sure if she worked there or was a customer herself. She walked up and just looked at us with a quiet stare. The awkward silence was killing me so I said "we have three." She never uttered a word. She walked us to a booth. A few minutes later the same gal brought us chips & salsa. She didn't mention if a server was coming or if she'd be back. We sat there waiting for someone to take our drink order. Eventually we ate all of our chips. Thirsty, impatient, I started to look around for an employee, a server, a manager..Anybody? A group of 6 teenagers who came in after us was sat next to us. A young guy took their drink order, brought their drinks, and then came back to take their food order. He never glanced at us. We sat there watching him. WAiting for him to tell us someone would be with us. He never noticed. Our patience wore out. We got up and left. I don't think anyone noticed. Guests continued to pile in. The parking lot was filling up. I wanted to tell them, "good luck." We went down the street to Sombrero's and had wonderful friendly service. read more

Stopped in on way to cruise from Galvaston , 6 of us, had great service and hospitality, they even made me something that wasn't on the menu Huevos and chorizo tacos , and the tamales were excellent !!! A must stop !! read more

I have grown to love this place. The table side guacamole and Shrimp quesadillas are my favorite. A must try if you haven't already. Francisco is very friendly and passionate about pleasing the many patrons frequenting his establishment. I'm happy to have such a good restaurant so close to home. I enjoy running into Francisco at our local Wal-Mart shopping for his restaurant because I too grocery shop for my mother's restaurant in Henderson as well. It just gives me a warm feeling to see another local business owner out in the community amongst the many customers we enjoy satisfying. read more

Up till tonight I liked this Restaurant.. Tonight, my wife and I, went to have dinner. She had a taco salid and I had faj. natchos. My wife mixed up her taco salid and guess what she found.. A BUG! LOOKED LIKE A LARGE FLY LOOKING THING. I would post a picture on here of it if I could. We asked for the manager he he was so not caring about the bug. He just said the fly must have been flying around in the back. DUH.. But you should watch out when there are BUGS IN THE BACK. Guess he was use to people making a comment about it. Ate here last week on Wed @8pm, service was slow, food was terrible. Waitress stopped by several times to see if we needed anything else, asked twice for more iced tea, never got it. Asked twice for more chips, never got it. Had to track down another waiter to find our waitress to get a check., she was in the back of the room chatting with friends, apparently too busy to do her job, I called the next day to speak to someone in management, give them a chance to know about and hopefully correct the situation got put on hold then hung up on.
