I met a business associate for breakfast at the restaurant Always, I mean always, we have friendly efficient waitresses. We ordered Western Omelettes, potatoes, and wheat toast. We received what we expected. The coffee was good and you can drink as much coffee as you like. Our meeting lasted 1.5 - 2 hrs. No problem. Franconia Restaurant has been at its location for a long time. They do not turn over their staff. I see familiar faces all the time. I head here after golf with other golfers and enjoy lunch. Soups are good. They offer areas in the restaurant for meetings and banquets. On the weekends they offer buffet's. They sell fresh baked goods. How good are the baked goods? I purchased sticky buns to take Sunday to church during social hour and they were so good the sticky buns never made it. Yummy. Cash or credit accepted. Large parking areas. Enjoy! read more

I will start with one of the best breakfast items I have ever eaten: cinnamon bun French toast! The cinnamon bun French toast is honestly amazing, so simple but so delicious. I haven't ever had anything like this and I can't wait to get it again! The weekend breakfast buffet is what this place is known for , it is really good with everything you can imagine , including the cinnamon bun French toast! They also have a fabulous salad bar every day that includes a choice of 10 different soups and the soup is homemade and always impressive. My favorites are the broccoli and cheese, New England clam chowder and the beef vegetable. The burgers are really good ( pictured ) and the sandwiches are also great for the value. The prices are extremely reasonable so the sandwiches won't be enough for two but plenty for one, especially if you get the salad bar. I recommend the taco salad if you aren't in the mood for a salad bar, the stir fry is also very good , the Reuben us a favorite and today I had the chicken pot pie! All of the hosts and servers are amazing ! I visit here weekly and honestly look forward to seeing the management and staff because they are so nice. This is a great option for breakfast, lunch or dinner any day but the weekend brunch is one of the best breakfasts you can have in the area. My wife and I stopped here for lunch, while our motorhome was being repaired over at Bergy Truck. What a pleasant surprise! We were met by a very pleasant host, and then again by a very pleasant waitress and things only went up from there. The salad bar was amazingly fresh, our food was delivered quickly, very hot, and everything was very fresh. The rolls were light and fluffy, and the soup out of this world. This place is enormous and that, I don't think, includes the banquet rooms. I got the salad bar and enjoyed everything from salad to dessert. My vegetarian husband was really pleased to see all of the selections for him on the menu (not so much on the buffet, unfortunately) and enjoyed what he ordered. They even had dessert selections for him. Had not been in over six months after being treated poorly by a waitress who I can only assume was anti-Semitic when she say my Star of David and refused to wait on me. Sadly after that encounter and calling the owner my concerns were ignored and dismissed. Was back a week ago Saturday for the breakfast buffet, which was extremely disappointing. It was literally reduced to one side of what used to be a 360 degree layout of food. Selection was very limited, price was $15.00 which I think was ridiculous for cold eggs and bacon. Also saw the wonderful waitress who refused me service . Service was poor as a check was left immediately on our table after ordering the buffet. Repeatedly had to ask that used dishes be cleared worse table beside us put their dirty dishes on our table while we we up getting our food . Had to get a bus person to finally take dishes away! Stopped here for breakfast today. It was a nice country diner and quite popular with the local residents. I was solo for breakfast so chose a seat at the counter. I ordered blueberry pancakes which are one of my favorites. I loved that they cooked the blueberries into the pancake instead of just sprinkling them on top. I did order a side of scrapple which is a local side dish. It was cooked perfectly and was served with Apple butter. I've never eaten it this way but thought I would give it a try...it was really good. I found out later that this is a typical PA Dutch way to serve scrapple. Good to know for future visits. :) My only complaint was the slow service. I sat a bit too long waiting for someone to take my order. The food was delivered fairly fast once the order was placed. Went to the Franconia Heritage restaurant for dinner tonight. They were rather busy. When we reached the hoast's desk we asked if a booth was available and she replied, no but she had tables. We said Ok and she then walked away and left us standing. She cam back and walked past us several times, saying nothing to us. There were quite a few people in line by now and there was a group of five near the end of the line and she seated them immediately. After standing and being ignored for 10-15 minutes, we figured it was time to leave. We have been there often and were mostly satisfied it may be time to reconsider other places to eat. The Franconia Heritage restaurant is a complex that looks like it could serve bus tours of people. Huge parking lot. There is a loading ramp that goes upstairs,and there were people on it, waiting to be seated. There are upper and lower dining rooms. The food is generic diner fare (eggs, sandwiches, lover&onions). Didn't try the coffee. Most items are $8. Service is mediocre. We had a water spill. Busboy have us 3 napkins. Ultimately the matron came with towels and helped us out. There is even a gift shoppe so you can buy souvenirs from your experience. read more

I met a friend here based on her recommendation so I was not sure what to expect. It is a massive place and the restaurant area is very outdated and blah. I was not there for the decor so I can look beyond that. The food was decent as it was breakfast. Service was kind of slow for there being very few people there. Perhaps they are short staffed. I have not been to this restaurant in a long time and remember it being very busy and the food being good not great but good. Tonight I went to Heritage with my mother who lives in a large development down the street, it was dead couple of people here and there, mind it was still early (4:30 pm) Mom kept says that the place is busy on the weekends, and that people don't go out that early. She goes to dinner along with the rest of the community at 4:00-4:30. We went to our table and was seated across from another couple who was just served their dinner, I could tell by their expressions that it was not edible and they pushed there plates away and told server that neither of the selections were satisfactory.. I should have left after seeing that. My mother ordered something easy, turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy. I was stupid to think being an hour and a half away from the ocean, they would have Jersey little necks.. it stated "20 steamed clam" so I asked our server if she served any or knew anything about the clams .. I was told " I don't know, I hate seafood" why did I order the clams? Well, I did because there aren't any seafood offerings in Wisconsin. They arrived and (being in the food business and cooking all my life ) well I am pretty certain they were from Asia (Vietnam) . They were filled with sand. They usually come in a bag frozen and come out of the freezer and into the pan. Mom got her dinner and the potatoes were brown, not white like they are supposed to be.. burnt or in the steam table since lunch.. asked server if they are supposed to be brown and was told "Yea .. sort of " do you want any other type of potato? I then went up to the soup and salad bar to find two soups broken from the soup kettle heat .. salad was well stocked and fresh. Since I live 5 minutes down Allentown Road, I've been coming to the Heritage with my family for years, since I was little for many occasions. For a while, the Heritage was more than a restaurant. I don't remember too much of the banquet rooms, the bakery or where they sold furniture, I was only there a handful of times. The gift shop more so, it's a nice little shop to walk around. Unfortunately only the gift shop, banquet rooms and restaurant remain, and since the restaurant is where I go the most, this is what the review will be about. The restaurant itself is nice. Plenty of parking, good prices and it is split between two dining halls you can go to when you walk in. Plenty of seating including booths, tables and window seating. Accommodates large groups well. The food itself is fantastic! The menu for all meals has variety, but the highlight has to be the different buffets, especially the breakfast buffet which is my favorite. The dessert is also great, between the desserts from the buffet and the items on the menu. It's been a great tradition coming here with the family, and I look forward to coming back much more in the future! read more

And it really does have something for everybody--breakfast, lunch, dinner, and just about anything you'd expect on a menu at an American restaurant. Recently I tried their BBQ brisket sandwich, and it was good. There's enough meat on there that makes you feel you're getting what you're paying for, and you can't say that at a lot of places. They also have banquet rooms and a gift shop, although the latter has limited hours (closes most days at 5 p.m.). Where it's located, people may get the impression it's an old-fart place, but it's not that way at all. Everybody is welcome and they make you feel that way. Their menu, again, has something for everybody 7 to 70, so you really can't go wrong if you want a good meal at a fair price. When I say 70, yes, they have a Senior Menu too. read more

Breakfast is very good and the portions are a lot. I love the quartered potatoes and you get 4 slices of bacon. My husband had a western omelette which he said was good, they definitely give you big chunks of meat and vegetables. He may try the buffet next time. My SO and I love the heritage! We are both vegans and we were so pleasantly surprised to find out they have an extensive gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan menu! The food is always really good and service is nice. It's a really comfy environment. Even before we went vegan we both ate here and always loved the comfort food. The buffets have good variety and the dessert is especially good. The only downside is that the non vegan food can be pricey for what you get. The vegan menu is really cheap though! $5 for a big burger and fries! We once ordered drinks, meals, dessert, and an extra side for only $15 (on the vegan menu) If you come here I highly suggest you ask for the healthy/vegan menu. Cheap and good food! read more
