not sure why I came back, food seems too just get worse. And of course I get stuck with the same waitress from last time, Shes slower and of course the phone was ringing in her pocket again! It's a shame this place is like how it is. From some reviews they say how good it is, they're wrong. This time I got a lunch sandwich thinking it would come with fries or chips, nope just a single sandwich on a plate. for 9.95 I was hoping more. Theses prices are so high for what you actually get, its horrible. I wouldn't be suprised if the health inspector shut this place down aswell. Rust on all the metals at the table (salt and pepper and sugar containers) There was food stuck in the crevices on the booth I was sitting in. I told the waitress about the table having crumbs on it and she didn't clean it after I said something. Avoid this waitress if you come here, it's seat yourself. She goes through the specials, has a phone in her pocket and she's one of the bigger waitresses, I think she's pregnant. If you come here good luck, I won't ever be back. If you don't know about this place, you need to. This is the quintessential small town family diner. Complete with a big old counter, cute and cozy little booths and just an old timey feel. All the food we have tried is good and fresh, you can sit at the counter and watch them cook it. However, their specialty is their home made banana bread French toast. We have to come back for it occasionally because we get a craving. I don't know of any other place that makes banana bread French toast. I really hate doing this... bad service, employees cleaning around us and asking us to switch tables to clean. Undercooked omelet which I didn't think was possible, served with home fries I am pretty sure you could play hockey with or crack a tooth if you prefer. The scrapple had to be days old, I didn't eat anything but a few bites of the scrapple that made me feel sick and the bagel. The cream cheese for the bagel was also disgustingly placed on a creamer dish rim that was dirty to begin with. I was asked if I'm still eating the untouched omelet, or if I needed a box, both questions I answered no to. I wasn't asked if I'd like anything remade or taken off the bill, but instead the waitress jokingly said "ohh not feeling it?" And walked away... I was then charged for everything and paid for food that was obviously not even touched other than to cut it open to see it was either slimy or undercooked. At least I know to check this place off my list of restaurants to go back to. And to the chef/owner, just be cleaner.. you're going to get people sick, or worse. And instead of asking customers to get up and move so you can clean a table that was already clean when we sat down 3 minutes prior, maybe wait till the customer is done eating or close the place an hour earlier if you are rushing to get out of there by 3pm on the dot. 30 dollars for an omelet and pancakes and the worst experience ever isn't a good look. I LOVE this place. Stopped in today for lunch with my mom. We got the chicken salad special, it was amazing. I am extremely picky about chicken salad and this was outstanding. When we sat down the waitress was very nice. I ordered the Broiled Scallops and crab cake. When I got the crab cake it was slimy and undercooked. My husband ordered the daily special Prime Rib Medium. His steak was very overcooked and dry. My sons French fries were cold. We ate as much as we could while we waited for our server to come back. I waited for the waitress to come back and check on us and she never did. I got the attention of a waitress who was not ours and she finally took my slimy crab cake to our waitress. We waited 25 minutes. She never came back to our table to check on if I wanted anything else to eat. I finally asked to see the owner/manager. 10 minutes later he tells me he has the best crab cakes and I am mistaken. I told him I refuse to pay for food that would make me sick. I said I would pay for the scallops that were ok and I ate. I left this restaurant hungry. I'm very disappointed by the treatment of this establishment. I will not be going back. read more

I was working nearby and needed a coffee to go. I stopped in to Souderton Family Restaurant and after I got my coffee the waitress said $3.50. $3.50 for a coffee to go! Next time I will go to the top of the hill and get better cup at WaWa for $2.12. read more

Very disappointed! We ordered patty melts with American or provolone cheese instead of swiss. They charged us .50 to change the cheese on each sandwich. Won't be back if that's the way they're going to be. Seems like nickle and diming to me. read more

Place is a diner type restaurant where many of the locals eat. We only go for breakfast but they have a large menu of options that are reasonably priced. Love the granola pancakes with fresh fruit. Staff are super friendly. They have done some updates to the decor but don't go in expecting fine dining. read more

My family has been going here for about 20 years. Fantastic food, really friendly home-town service, where they want to you to feel at home. Pancakes are like no other and the owner goes out of her way to accommodate ANY and all special requests. She makes her own soups and gets a lot of her ingredients locally. We drive from Bedminster (20/25 min.) to get there, and pass a number of similar places along the way. Worth the trip. read more

The food here was good, local family type restaurant. We couldn't believe how large the breakfast menu was! Almost any Omelette you could ever imagine. The breakfast potatoes were probably the best breakfast potatoes I have had in a really long time, cooked perfect and nice and crispy on the outside. A good local mom and pop breakfast place. Nothing fancy, just good cooking from a local place. If you sit at the bar/ counter you can watch them make the food. The breakfast rollup was a huge hit at our table, vanilla pancake with blueberries and whipped cream all rolled up with Yogurt whipped cream and berries on top. good home cooked food. read more

We were driving through Souderton just past lunch time and saw this restaurant. Moved to the Montgomery a couple years ago so we were always on the lookout for new restaurants to try. We were not disappointed here. Soups are home made and delicious. My burger was hand formed and tasty, my wife had a hot sausage sandwich which was interesting and good. Our waitress was friendly and followed up after the food came. Breakfast does seem to be their speciality with syrup sitting next to the ketchup in all the booths and at the counter. It's not fancy but who cares. You can't beat the breakfast...eggs, bacon , hash browns, and oh man, the pancakes. The coffee is your average diner coffee but hey it's basically a diner. The place is clean and the staff is incredibly polite and friendly. I pretty much come to work early once a week just so I can have breakfast here. Reminded exactly of what a diner is supposed to be. Extremely friendly service with a small town America feel. The food was quick, tasty, and best of all cheap. Looked like a husband and wife team working the grill right in front of the bar. We sat in the dining area which was clean, cozy, and quiet. I've been to diners where they went with cheap, nasty coffee, but not here. It was hot, dark, and tasted wonderful. Can't believe it took me this long to get here but I'll be back soon and often. Best diner I have been to in the Bucks-Mont area and I have been to quite a few. Only complaint was that the regular ketchup wasn't Heinz but I'm not taking off a star for that. read more

Went this morning for breakfast and it was wonderful. The server was very friendly and professional and everyone else was very pleasant as well. Don't know what the other reviewer was taking about. The breakfast menu was huge and the food was great. Got the Colorado omelet with homefries and my husband got the hungry man. We were both very happy with our meal and whole experience.
