Looking past the outdated, stale décor, Frank & Diannah's Arbor Inn serves up a memorable dining experience, playing to their strengths while spurning short-sighted modern day trends and instead focusing on comfort food that warms the soul. The interior is basically your grandma's house reincarnated. Carpeted floor, heavy drapes, wood-paneled walls, tiny lamps in every window. I suppose the design was on purpose to elicit warm memories buried deep within our subconsciousness? Hey, if we're reminded of grandma, we're gonna be happy and tip more! Not a bad strategy, to be honest. When it comes to the food and service, it was top notch. Yeah, one of the steaks we ordered was slightly overdone (asked for medium rare, came out medium well), but management addressed the situation admirably and offered free desert to quell our dissatisfaction. The other steak aside, my ribeye was cooked to perfection. So tender, so juicy, so full of flavor. It truly made me fall in love with the ribeye all over again and confirmed my belief that the ribeye is truly the king of steaks, trouncing both the lean, buttery filet and heavily marbled prime rib. If you're feeling in the mood for shellfish, but your craving has gone beyond the normal standard and you are now "selfish for shellfish," F&D's will still be able to satisfy your need. In addition to coconut curry mussels and fried calamari, they also serve up steamed clams with chorizo, a magnificent marriage of littlenecks, chorizo sausage, diced tomato, and shallots in a white wine, garlic and herb broth. And as always, with dishes like these, be sure to dip the bread in that leftover broth! Heaven. Oh, and those were just some of the appetizers. If you really want to go all out with the shellfish, try the Linguine Pescatore, where you get an assortment of shellfish served in a flavorful white or red wine sauce over a bed of soft, housemade pasta. Mussels, clams, and as an added bonus - scallops! Just an absolute delight. For the born-and-raised Berks-Countians (aka PA Dutch folk), there is an assortment of schnitzel dishes (no less than four the last time I checked). Anyone with a sliver of German ancestry, rejoice! Your childhood fav is on the menu. After my first and only visit, I immediately fell in love with this place. Great experience all around. To top it off, my old friend was working at the bar. I hadn't seen him in years before this. It was great to catch up. A special occasion brought me here. It turned into more special occasions and great memories. One trip was all it took. Now Frank and Diannah's will always have a special place in my heart.

    Epic delicious food every time!

Always a pleasure, always a charming experience. The owners are fantastic, the staff is fantastic, love the ambiance, and the passion that gets put into every meal they prepare. No mediocrity, as an amateur chef myself going out to dinner usually isn't very exciting to me, I'm a pretty good cook, the food here is always amazing, exciting, and flavorful. Highly recommend.

Food and service were great! Our waitress Katelyn was attentive and on point with the food and drinks. Both the main dishes my wife and I ordered was delicious. Will be back again.

The drinks are served up strong and service by our server tonight, Grace, was very attentive. Every time we come here we order the crispy potstickers appetizer and we agreed that their fried pickles are the best we've had anywhere. The dill dipping sauce that comes with the fried pickles is the bomb. My husband loves burgers and it's not always easy to find places that actually serve great burgers, but tonight he said "this is delicious!" Our server, Grace, was friendly, helpful and paid attention to the right time when to offer another drink or see if we want anything else. The music playing is a mix of genres so there's something for everyone and we enjoy it. They play it at the perfect volume. Loud enough to hear it well but not so loud that we can't hear each other talk. And, the outdoor patio seating is dog friendly! Reading some of the other reviews, I am baffled that people are leaving three and four stars when they have nothing but raving positive things to say (awesome, fantastic, etc) about the food, drinks, ambiance and service. That makes a place worthy of a five star review. Do yourself a favor and visit the Liberty Taproom!

We sat outside because last year this is where you had to sit to get the rum buckets. This year outside bar was closed & they had to get them from inside . Had we known this, we would have preferred to sit inside as 2 of us have hearing problems. You can imagine our reaction when live outside music was being set up. Ok. Fine. It was not awful as the volune was kept at a reasonable level. Our problem was when the singer stepped aside & brought 2 little girls up to sing. We are in a public restaurant & should not feel obligated to pay attention & listen to children while WE are trying to enjoy ourselves & celebrate a birthday. Note to the parents: if you want everyone to shhh & pay attention, rent a PRIVATE venue.

Personally, I ordered the scallops wrapped in bacon for my app and the Pappardelle Ragu. My main meal was superb! The bread was served thickly sliced with a touch of oil. I had the house salad, which was fair. Some of the lettuce seemed wilted and snotty. My scallop appetizer was good, but the scallops had a very slight fishy taste, which was disappointing. Others in my group also enjoyed their meals. One thing to note - the drinks here are incredibly overpriced. A special cranberry martini was $18...a shot of Jim beam was $13. The drinks were of good portion, though. The desserts were also way overpriced. A slice of cake was $12...not worth it. For 4 of us, the bill was over $300, without the tip!

Got 3 tiny mushrooms with hard mozzarella cheese and mushy crab filling. Caprese $12. Super bland. Now to Dinner. Out of Prime Rib, out of Scallops, out of several other things. How is that possible. That shows it's poorly run. Wife got the Chicken Marsala, bland and had a hint of egg taste. Tagliolini alla Marea Special $39. Eggpasta with Naine lobster, gulf shrimp, scallops and lump crab meat. Since they were out of scallops, of course they offered extra shrimp. I laughed and said how about extra crab meat. I was told I'll have to ask. What's there to ask? You're out of scallops and shrimp are not equal to scallops. The dish only came with 3 shrimp, no extra lump crab meat and 2 fingernail size pieces of lobster and of course no scallops. And, yes, that's right, super bland. The only good things was the bread and salad. Way over priced

They lit the fire and turned on the music for us, which was a nice touch. Overall the ambience was very nice and they took care of us. It's rare I order seafood from a landlocked state but the menu was small enough that you either could get steak, seafood, or a wrap. I went with the special of the day which was a flounder with rice pilaf. The flounder was good but the salmon was much better, would only recommend the salmon. The rice pilaf was good as well as the broccolini. The mashed potatoes were fantastic and the roasted vegetables were what you'd expect. Also had the ice cream cheesecake which was odd and wouldn't get again. Bill came out to about 120 for 2 glasses of wine, 2 seafood entrees, and a dessert. Overall, had a great dinner.

If you're looking for a bright and airy place to grab a bite, this spot really delivers on the atmosphere. The dining area is clean and filled with natural light thanks to the windows on two sides, which makes for a very welcoming environment. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit, contributing to a pleasant service experience. One of the absolute highlights was the salad bar--it was fresh, well-presented, and offered an excellent selection, including classics like macaroni and potato salads, pickled red beet eggs, and even stuffed grape leaves. It's clear they take pride in that part of the menu! (A +) While we did encounter a few hiccups with the hot entrees--my wife's hot turkey sandwich and mashed potatoes arrived cold, and my broiled salmon was unfortunately quite overdone--I get the sense that this kitchen has a lot more to offer. The menu is quite extensive, and I suspect they really shine when it comes to their more traditional diner fare. (C) It's worth noting that the pricing is very competitive, feeling even more affordable than many other local diner-style establishments we've visited lately. While the decor feels a bit dated and the atmosphere skews toward a more mature crowd, the restaurant has a great foundation. (B + to A) I'd definitely encourage folks to give them a try. They have a solid operation here, and with more focus and care in the kitchen, I think they'll continue to be a staple in the area for a long time to come. I plan to head back eventually to see if the kitchen improves and how the other menu items hold up!
