I went out of my way to Cranford to check out this store (in celebration of National Thrift Day-- today). I passsed by around 4:30-ish pm and there was a notice on the door saying the shopkeeper would be back at 5. The notice said: "Stepped out to Laundromat and Post Office. Return 5 pm." It doesn't make sense to me to go do laundry during business hours? Shouldn't errands like that be done during the lunch hour if anything? But it didn't bother me at first I just walked around and came back at 5. And waited. And waited. I waited 1 hour for the shopkeeper to come back (until 6pm) and still no sign of the person coming back. After a while it was kind of hot to wait outside and I felt really weird standing outside for so long so I stepped into a café and watched from the seat. By the time it was 6, I couldn't even check out the vintage shops in other neighboring towns I was hoping to. All in all a disappointing day. It was just kind of unprofessional and disrespectful of customers' time and energy. In total I came, spent 90 minutes, energy, gas, parking money, etc etc just to come see this one store and waited outside the store for a significant amount of time kind of looking like an idiot...not a great impression. I was really patient waiting an hour and a half and I just don't want other customers to go through that. To be clear stuff happens and so I don't take it personally but it was just unfortunate. If I'm in the area again I'd still love to still swing by and try giving it another go.

The location in Clark Commons is connected to Carters, both are owned by the same company. I like…read morethe selection in Carters better but Osh Kosh seems to have lower prices, so you have a lot of options in this location. They also have a lot of the cute toys and accessories by Skip Hop in the middle of the two stores, which is another company owned by Carters. I would say the only problem I have is the store is a little cramped, especially when crossing over from Carters to osh kosh or vice versa. They have bins off to the side and it makes going through with a stroller a little more complicated. Also, the skip hop stuff being right by the register can be maddening for parents waiting on line with their toddlers, because of course your toddler wants to touch every stuffed animal and toy they see, but I also know that's exactly why it's there so I can't really fault them for it, it is a retail business after all! 4/5
