Parts of it seemed a little dated, but it overall looked clean and well-kept (especially the gym and daycare). While running the 5K, the ground appeared well-kept. I did spot a rather hilarious looking concessions trailer, but it didn't seem out of place and did a good job of providing the kind of ambiance I would expect in rural Kentucky. The weights in the weight room are never, ever, ever sorted into their correctly labeled spots (you can only blame other patrons up to a certain point--then you have to start asking why the staff aren't enforcing a sorting rule or sorting them themselves). 2. The wifi is spotty. 3. When equipment breaks, repairs take forever. One of the selectorized weight machines had a weight that stuck for months and months after I politely mentioned it to staff multiple times. 4. The men's bathroom by the weight room often has a very strong urine smell and the hinge on the stall door is not dependable. And handle on the sink in there has been broken for weeks. 5. The second hand on one of the wall clocks in the weight room is broken, and has been for a long time, which is frustrating if you want to time a lifting rest. (It's a small thing, but it's the kind of thing staff should handle without having to be asked by their customers. Plus, who wants to be "that guy" who asks them to fix their clock? I already asked once--now I'd rather use up my political capital asking about the wifi.) 6. Any time you have to do ANYTHING in the office, it takes forever. Reception and basic bookkeeping tasks move at a snail's pace. Again, all the staff are very nice, and overall things are not bad. However, there are some continual/recurring (and frustrating) problems that appear to be a lack of proper management.

The gym has loads of equipment for all different types of training like free weights, treadmills, machines, and is spaced out fairly well. The only downside with the gym is sometimes it will get too busy and there will be a wait time for machines, but there's loads of different variations if you need them, other than that it is amazing. The recreational center has more than the gym itself, it also has exercise class rooms like cycling and zumba, multiple basketball courts, an indoor track, and even a rock climbing wall with staff to help newcomers. Overall this center has something for everyone and I have personally loved my experiences here. I would positively recommend this space to anyone looking to meet new people or just fill time in your day.

It's a great way to get my head off the stresses from school and meet new people who have similar interests to myself. The faculty have all been nice from what I've seen and interacted with. It's mostly college students here at Kentucky. Most of the negative online reviews focus on the gym's layout, which is next to the basketball courts, and I would have to agree that this is probably the gym's weakest point. I don't like that there are two floors to the gym and that it is so crowded. But if you go at the right time, I'm sure it's similar to every gym. Other than that, there aren't many negative things I could say about it. I've enjoyed my experiences so far and plan to keep going to the Johnson Center in the future.

If you're looking for a good workout, maybe consider The Pavillion or even Planet Fitness before you go and spend 35 bucks a month on a gym that doesn't really provide anything special. Maybe if the money was invested into consistently making the gym better with more equipment and amenities, this would be worth the tag, but for now, it's not. I canceled my membership thinking that it would allow me to finish out my month, but it didn't. If you have extra money to blow, save it...

A new expansion just completed in September 2019 to add a functional fitness area in the back as well. Not only is it the best fitness option but the price is very reasonable. There are a couple of reasons for taking away a star though. Through no fault of their own, it can be VERY crowded if you plan to go around 4:30-7 as that is when most of the after work crowd is there. Some of the equipment needs to be better maintained, particularly the spin bikes. If you are someone who is very regimented, be aware that the group fitness schedule changes regularly. That can also be a good thing though to change up your activities.

I showed up around 6 a.m., and the place was nearly empty except for one trainer (Patrick) working with a client. Right away, I could tell this wasn't just another gym. WHAT A FACILITY. I was blown away by the cleanliness, the layout, the equipment selection, and honestly the overall vibe. The hospitality was next-level. It felt like walking into a place where people genuinely care about what they're building and who they're serving. If I were still in collegiate athletics, I wouldn't want to train anywhere else. Whether you're a competitive athlete, a weekend warrior, or someone just trying to get better every day, I'd recommend KYnesis without hesitation. They made me feel incredibly welcome from the moment I walked in. Bryson--you're clearly an exceptional business owner and leader. It was the day before my son started that we received notification that said director was resigning for "personal reasons." Take that as you will. As far as our personal experience, we did drop off and were able to take my infant son to his room (this is not the normal Covid policy: they wanted us to drop him at the door). When I walked in, there were two babies at the entrance of the room: one lying on the floor (not in a boppy or on a blanket, but on the floor), with an older child sitting up beside her, looking down over her, with snot running out both sides of his nose. I made a comment about the snot to both the director and the worker, the latter of whom was sitting across the room. It was the director that finally wiped the snot off as my husband and I looked horrified. We left, feeling like this was not a good fit for us, based on the the combination of abuse allegations and level of engagement (or lack thereof) of staff with the children. I returned at 1200 to pick up my son. I explained my concerns to the Asst. Director, who was apologetic, and waited for her to retrieve my son and his things. We were pulling him completely from the daycare. As I waited, the training she'd been completing on her laptop was still playing--and it was a recording, I believe, of a person talking to (I'm assuming) a group of Asst. Directors and Directors about "how to get more children in the door without having to hire more staff." This, I feel, sums up the mission of Kindercare. It showed in our experience. Again, we will not be returning.

I am biased with rating any place that involves Volleyball…read more I give good stars because I can play volleyball there. But this place deserves 2, may be 3 stars. They have indoor basket ball courts which can used to play volleyball occasionally. The place itself isn't bad but I have heard that the neighbourhood is bad. Many people have reported stolen things from their car. The restroom isn't clean either. So don't depend on that. It's good if you just come here , play your game (Volleyball or Basketball) and then leave. I am not aware of anything else that goes on where. By the way, we have volleyball going on regulary at Sundays from 1-4 pm if anybody wants to join. It is $5/time or ~$40 for an entire season which would be 3-4 months.

I attend volleyball here on certain days of the week. When we leave, they rent it to basketball players. The place is a bit warn down, but stull works for a great gathering place for groups/clubs. This building is the home of the Tubby Smith Clubhouse as well. Please note to clean up after and sometimes before your group.
