Frankie's was relatively empty on an April weekday afternoon. + Road course go kart ($7 per run): It's fun once, but there aren't a lot of turns and pretty much nobody passes each other because everybody is equal distance apart and flooring the gas pedal and going no faster than 20mph. + Shamrock go kart ($7 per run): The track has relatively sharp turns, and I had a lot of fun racing with another couple. Boyfriend got a bum kart that kept stopping and had to be restarted by staff. They were great and gave him another ride for free. - Go carts in general kept spraying tire bits on me while I was driving. Boyfriend got stuff in his eyes. + Almost everything is open, just stand in line and personnel will come assist. We wanted to play lasertag ($7 per person) but there weren't anybody else in line and boyfriend and I would have had to play against each other. We played a bum race game with little cars; boyfriend's car was manuevering on its own. He said all he did was controlled if it went forward. My favorite game is probably the light game that tests your reflexes. Maybe it would have been more fun if there were more folks to play lasertag with, the go karts didn't spit so much car bits on us, the go karts were all functional and the race game weren't buggy. Wouldn't mind coming back for lasertag or mini golf but we plan on racing with faster go karts next time! read more

I think they might be closed????? I had a simple question that wasn't answered by their website. So I called-- at least half a dozen times over the course of an afternoon. I started trying different departments so I chose different phone options- - speak to a representative, speak to the restaurant, speak to the general manager, book a party- - all of them went unanswered, the phone just rang off the hook. I came here on 1/2/21 with my bf and bff after having dinner. I hadn't seen my bff in a LONG time. We love going go-carting because it's decent priced ($8). We arrived at 8:30ish. They are currently closing at 10pm due to the statewide curfew . They had to transfer my bf and I fun card because we got them at the Charlotte location. The Process was simply and fairly quick. They do have to call the location to get the points and balance though. First thing we did was go carts. The one thing I did noticed is that they did not wipe down the carts after each race. I went to the Charlotte location a month or so ago and they were. My bf and bff requested that they clean their carts, which they did. According to them, one of the staff started to get an attitude. Personally, I wasn't tripping about them cleaning the carts, and neither was everyone else who in the race. However, i understand people wanting to be cautious. The race was fun We went inside afterwards and played some of the arcade games. We did do the Dark Ride Carnival. It was nice. Staff were wearing mask, somewhat. Less so outside staff than inside staff. It's an arcade, so you can guess how much social distancing is enforced. After a certain time, you do have to be 18. They had law enforcement at the entrance and they were checking IDs if you looked younger than 18. At 10pm, they cut off access to all the games. They stopped the outside activities about 9:50pm, unfortunately. My bff and I wanted to do another go cart race. We had so much fun here! We visited on a Tuesday afternoon and we were able to do a few rounds of golf and enjoy the spring weather. All the arcade games were well kept and functional, and the facility was clean. The only issue we had was that there was no staff at the mini golf desk, and there was quite a line built up until my husband asked the other desk to send someone over. The prices are reasonable and they also have a nice cafe that we'll check out next time. We had a blast and I highly recommend Frankies if you need a fun get away! read more

Loooked up places online in N.C. that would be kid friendly and Frankies came up. Location - In the heart of N.C. Triangle Research Center. Parking - Plenty of parking in the front lot. Venue - Large location with lots to offer, nice and clean, modern games and rarely any broken machines. Prices - My reason for the 4 star rating is that the games avg. about $1.50 a game that if you have a kid that likes to play everything you hit yourself with like $75 just on arcades plus cages, laser tag, go carts, and food. Your teens will love the go karts, batting cage, arcade games, laser tag and rides. Plenty of games for the youngins too. Fun house, rope course rides and more Mini golf fun for everyone. Ps, watch out for black snake who slithered in between golf holes, scaring my 2 yo granddaughter who screamed, Snake!!! Pretty sure he was harmless and just passing through, but he didn't yell Fore! Frankie's has really been the go to fun park most of the time. They have really changed the arcade and the only one thing that I dislike is the chill lounge because all of the TV's only play music videos and I believe those TV's are supposed to have on sports. read more

I had been to the one in Greenville but that was a couple of years ago. I am new to the area and wanted to bring my daughter for the afternoon. We started with some food. The staff was friendly but didn't really know their food well at all. The cashier didn't say thank you. The food was decent though, she got a plain burger and it was two patties which was surprising. The fries were great but the portion too small for the $3 price tag. The place is a ton of fun! I think they need more deals though. Games are expensive and attractions like the "fun house" which include a physical activity component shouldn't be $8. I understand if the kids would stay there for an hour but we all know they will do it once and maybe twice if you're lucky. She actually wanted to do it twice so I made out on that deal. The attractions outside are reasonably priced. $5 for the "Sidewinder" and the go karts which we didn't do this time are $7. I think the arcades could be cheaper too. Games should be $1 or $2 max. We had a good time and will be back to try driving the go karts. 06.09.18 Back and right near the entrance a new VR game is located. $8 but it was so worth it! I think the game should last a couple of minutes more but graphics, control and experience beats the one at the mall. I did it with my daughter and she had fun too. I'd only suggest for the instructor who did a great job explaining the gameplay to remind everyone about proper language too. I had to tell the boys to speak properly. You would think with all the reviews talking about the rude service that it would have been addressed by now. This was our second visit to the park. Our first experience almost everyone we came into contact with was very unwelcoming and rude. We thought maybe everyone was just having a bad day and let it slide. We went back today when it wasn't busy at all and the service was worse! The girl at the ticket counter barely said two words to us. The one at the mini golf station grunted at us. Seriously, she grunted. She didn't even bother to tell us where we pick up the clubs. We realized they were off to the side and grabbed them. Inside we looked for someone to help us with virtual reality. My son walked up to the laser tag desk where the kid was laying his head down half asleep. His response, "Someone should be over there." Then he put his head back down. Seriously? What an absolute shame. It's such a great facility with so many fun options for the whole family and these employees make it miserable. Tried leaving VM with GM and Ops Mgr but voicemail was cut off & call disconnected. Hoping they received the message. Recommend NOT using any headset games due to lice infestation. The mini golf courses are great. There are three of them, it's very clean and the decorative buildings on the side are really nice adding to the feeling. The water effects are nice, although the water has an odd turquoise color. Background music too. Some parts a bit shaded, which helps during summer days. Some benches along the course for those who get worn out putting. 18 holes for each course and they are quite difficult for someone like myself who plays about once a year. Some people have really high or wild expectations for an arcade. This arcade has a lot more than the typical arcades you usually see. This arcade has laser tag, dark ride, VR, go karts, bumper cars, amusement rides, mini golfing, and bowling. The best part is that everything is literally entered through the same swipe as if you were playing a game. This makes it super easy and efficient rather than going to the kiosk to buy separate games/tickets. The best attractions here are the mini-golf, dark ride, and bumper cars. The mini-golf had many varieties of slopes rather than flat paths. The dark ride was an unbelievable 4d experience that rivals universal studious where it combined competitive interactive shooting with ride simulation. The bumper cars were highly dynamic granting you 2 levers for controls of going right, left, back, and forward. All in all, a really well-rounded arcade with stuff for everyone to do. I must say that the COVID precautions aren't great, however, as I didn't see much sanitation going on. read more

I got turned around at the door for being 23 and my lil brother's guardian. If you aren't a parent, they won't let you in. I have 2 parents sick with COVID-19 and I am caretaking my brother. Are you telling me that I have to look like a parent to have fun? I can buy alcohol but I can not take my brother to frankies ? Fun, fun, fun for everyone! Seriously. I went with someone else in their 20's, and we had such a fun time! I recommend mini-golfing outside - it's $8 per person for 18 holes, which is a pretty good deal! Plus, the setup outside for mini-golf is a sight to see. Inside, there are a multitude of games to choose from. I don't know if I just haven't been to an arcade in a long time, but the tickets are no longer printed out but instead counted on a card, which you have to pay 50 cents to activate. This card is also how you pay for different games and you just keep reloading it with money. The games generally range from 50 cents to $2 (which I thought to be pricey compared to spending my childhood at Chuck E. Cheese paying about 25 cents or less per game). I have not seen anything cost less or more. Although I do love to see the overflow of tickets coming out of a machine, this method is a lot more convenient and environmental-friendly! In addition to the arcade games and mini-golf, there's also laser tag, outdoor water activities, go-karting, and a little restaurant/bar inside. Frankie's is such a fun place for kids and for adults! My boyfriend and I went there for a date night recently. They have a bar and a little cafe. We had some beers and shared a quesadilla which was so good! You load money onto a little plastic card and then use that card to play games. The card also stores your 'tickets' so there is not a lot of paper waste as you play the games. They have all of the usual games and then some nice surprises. We really enjoyed playing a version of bowling that uses a ball that is much smaller than a bowling ball but larger than a ski ball. They have go carts and laser tag. They also have a 3D gaming experience that my boyfriend absolutely loved. They put a helmet and goggles on him and gave him a gun. He said it felt like he was in the game. We had a blast being kids again! We will definitely go back for another fun night out. read more

Frankie's is tons of fun. I found it by searching for mini-golf on Yelp, and the reviews were encouraging. I was not disappointed. As far as mini-golf goes there are three courses. We only played once (Course #3). The course had some puddles on the greens and soggy turf because of the lots of rain we've been getting, which was a little disappointing, but somewhat understandable. As far as the play, the course is of medium difficulty and just a little repetitive. It really is lacking major elevation changes, water hazards, and more fun obstacles. The only obstacles were some fake rocks and a few fishing pier type wooden posts. The course is beautifully landscaped and there are benches between most or all of the holes to rest while you wait for the folks ahead of you to putt. We also tried one of the go-karts (Shamrock track) and had a fun time with that too. The arcade was in good order, most everything we wanted to play was in good working operation. The one big downside was that there were no discounts or packages for any of the games, golf or rides; it's all a la carte. With three mini golf courses at $7 a play, they should have an all-day pass option or buy 2 rounds get 1 free or something. At least some kind of rewards or punch card would be cool! C'mon, do it Frankie! Anyway, there was plenty to do and with it being so conveniently located, we left the other courses and tracks for the next time we come back. read more

I came to play mini-golf with the family -my daughter came to try to get me to drop another $20+ in the arcade - but I was able to say no, as hard as that was. First, I'm not a fan of this type of "amusement park" and the arcades/go-carts phenomenon. Let's play some mini golf and just try to relax instead of having my senses drowned by all the flashing lights, bells and whistles. The mini golf course we chose was okay, but it was falling apart. The mortar between the bricks was gone in several places. Also - ants - lots of them on every hole. Little bitty ants, and yes, it hurts when they bite. Overall, it wasn't great or horrible, it was okay. Each hole is designed so that a hole in one is possible and I was starting to get my green face on when my bride scored two in a row. I got two later on, but I just need practice to get back into the form I used to compete with on these types of courses. The course was actually pleasant to walk through, quiet enough and depending on the time of day, provided enough shade to not need sunscreen. read more

You can get a beer or other adult beverage, though, and on a hot summer day, it can be refreshing to sit in the A/C for a bit. Both were first-time experiences for them. It was raining, so we weren't able to try the putt-putt. It was too early for me to try the bar, but I wouldn't mind going back to this place for a kids birthday party. We blew through $75 in 2 hours. Some attractions, like the jungle gym, cost $8, but then you get a band for unlimited play time. Have been to Frankie's many times when my children were younger but this was my first visit on a Friday night without kids. Played 1 of the 3 putt putt golf courses. Courses are very well maintained but it was crowded and play was slow. Average difficulty. Also experienced the Dark Ride XD - a 3 D combination ride and video game. That was a lot of fun and would be suitable for most ages but have to be 50 in tall to ride. Frankie's has both inside and outside activities and a sit down cafe. There are go karts, bumper boats, thrill rides, ropes course, arcade games, video games, VR game and laser tag. There are also some outdoor seating areas. It is one of the nicest amusement centers that I have been to and was busy on a Friday night with a variety of age groups. read more

Didn't have a chance to try any food but I'm sure it's on par with what you'd find at a high-end bowling alley. Not that that is a bad thing. My 3 boys were invited to two birthday parties this Saturday. The day began at Frankie's at noon. The 6 9 and 10 year old had a wonderful time. So good the next party was a small family get together that I had it moved to Frankie's. Then came our issue - the 6 year old was the slightest bit to small for the outside attractions. One he could ride with an adult. I was the only one with him and I am not in a condition to ride. Ryan, one of the workers, came from behind and offered to ride with him. A good time for all. COVID precautions: None of the employees were wearing their masks correctly - a handful were not wearing them at all. I would say about 40% of the guests wore their masks correctly. The go-kart attendants were wiping each car seat down, but didn't wipe down the steering wheels/safety straps. The lines are not spaced properly for adequate social distancing. Helps that everything (except getting the game pass) is outdoors. Not the most unsafe, but could have been better. My advice is to go close to when they open so that you can avoid the crowds and take proper precautions. Giving 2 stars because the mini golf was a lot of fun. read more
