Laid to rest was an acquaintances father, sturdy and gentlemanly the kind soul that he was, he left his earthly body at the celebratory age of ninty four. The man who received us was very fair and frail with the flaxen hair of a Nordic man, his mannerisms were well enough and spoke beautifully, more nobly than his job - assumingly not the owner As the parish priest spoke, I drifted back to the pillars defying the notion of any possibility of being called upon as if sitting in class, yet he did. Something about Star Wars, father and son, God the father and Jesus - I'm beginning to think that my desire to listen in most situations is rapidly eroding, even with men of the cloth. I'll need to address this sooner than later. Easy to locate off the Cross Island Pkwy upon exit as, as my buddies 2016 Mercedes-Benz S550 navigational system took us on a local, displeasing scenic route on our way to the wake. Our funeral director, Joseph Camolli, was beyond helpful and professional; his attention to the details of an otherwise overwhelming process made for a truly memorable tribute. We are thankful to him, James and other staff members for their attentiveness and services including a thoughtfully selected addition to the casket. The facility was clean with a convenient, ample parking lot; easy accessible throughout for physically-challenged attendees. One suggestion would be an upgraded / stronger wifi/router signal as in these times streaming services will become the 'new-norm'. The young man from the funeral home who directed our loved one's service played the piano and sang like a pro--he was gracious, empathetic, and quietly dignified. They took extra care to find a preacher from my relative's country to lead the services--that was such a thoughtful touch. Please move away from money grubbing funeral homes like the one in Canarsie that everyone goes to -- they don't care about you nor your family member. Harmony proves that you can provide an important service to your community without emotionally nor financially blackmailing families to pay for unnecessary costs. Their prices are extremely fair and their service and attention to detail is top-notch.

Didn't offer hand sanitizer, masks or anything for COVID safety. They did give me a bottle of hand sanitizer after i asked with the promise i wouldn't put it on their fine wood tables (im not kidding) The woman who seemed to be in charge argued with my grieving mother about pictures she swore we never gave to her. Two seconds later one of the employees brought them out right as they were having the conversation. No apology. Didn't even feel the need to vacuum between the days we went. I think they have lost their passion for this work. Go elsewhere

In life, our father always sought to provide for us and take care of everything. Before he passed…read moreaway, he even made preparations with the church, the funeral home, and the cemetery. Now it was up to us to take on the responsibility of making arrangements for his headstone. Clayton's Funeral Home recommended Stone Unlimited, and we are so glad they did. Stone Unlimited is located near the cemetery, so one day while visiting the grave-site we popped in to ask some questions. We weren't sure what we needed to do or what to expect. We met Marcy, who was wonderful and sat with us even without an appointment to walk us through everything. We had a lot of anxiety from the realization that we now had to figure out how we could ever create something that properly memorialized the patriarch of our family. She knew it was an emotional time for us and was very patient, explaining how the process worked, what the cemetery rules were for headstones, and the cemetery's design approval process. She took her time and explained all of our options without overwhelming us. Over the next hour and a half we talked about things like color, etchings, images, and the ways in which each of those choices could affect the chances of our design being approved. Over the following weeks we bombarded her with questions and revisions, both in person and over the phone, and she never made us feel like we were bothering or inconveniencing her. She was fantastic and was able to create a design that incorporates all of the things that were important to our father: his faith, his Irish heritage, and his career in the NYPD. A design that his wife of 56 years and his 6 very opinionated kids could all agree was beautiful. Marcy estimated it would take about 12 to 16 weeks for design to be approved and the stone created and put in place. Even with an early rejection from the cemetery and some redesign sessions prior to resubmitting, they still were able to set the stone in place just 12 weeks after our original conversation. The care and attention to every detail from Stone Unlimited during this difficult time was amazing. When the completed stone brought tears to our eyes, we knew that we had put our faith in the right people. We cannot recommend them enough.

When it came time for me to request a Death Certificate I was told that I would have to order it online. That was very strange and very unprofessional to me. I was told there were 3 of them and another family member had them. I was willing to pay what ever the cost was. A very kind person that worked at the cemetery told me the funeral home gives out 15 at a time, for families that need them to close out banking accounts and for insurance purposes ect. I am totally shocked by the behavior of the Under Taker Michael Lanza who takes pride in his website to tell others how sympathetic he is to grieving families and just shook me off by telling me to order on line. In a time of mourning and grief I would have hoped for him to be more helpful and understanding. People that are in mourning don't deserve to be treated like that. For this one reason I do not recommend this place. I was not trying to go behind anybody's back. I was friends with my ex-husband for over 40 years and I held his hand till he took his last breath so you know nothing about me. How dare you say that about me, you need to respect your elders because one day you're going to be there too. I'm glad to hear that there's no friction in your family. With a personality like yours, and a lack of respect for people, seems like the only reason you are employed there is because of your family. Good luck to you in the future. P.S. FYI I do not have any grandchildren. so wherever you're getting your information from is false. Looks like you're having a lot of fun going back-and-forth with me. Family oriented, sensitive to the needs of family and loved ones, kind and courteous staff, and on site notary services on site for that needed paperwork no one ever wants to deal with. Prices are reasonable. On top of the fact they have completely free notary servíces on hand for the general public. Such a great place to have.

From my first call with Phil, he made sure we felt comfortable and cared for. When it came time for decisions about Mass cards and a dress (amongst other things), we were presented with a wide choice of options to make sure it was personal to our family. We were able to hold a morning wake with a small service at the end before the procession which was very appropriate. The Deacon was eloquent. I made some sandwiches to ensure my 85-year-old dad had something to eat, and Vinny was nice enough to run back and forth to the refrigerator whenever we asked for these and waters for our guests. Joe was our hearse driver, and he was excellent at waiting at the correct traffic lights so as not to lose anybody on the way to the cemetery. His Consecration prayer at the gravesite was perfect. I hope I don't talk to these guys too much, but I absolutely know where I'm going if I need compassionate, thorough funeral services.
