Nice tasting (flight) room in Bethlehem. Not a bad selection of wines. Vineyard a half hour drive away. Wish they'd do a traditional tasting instead of pouring the whole thing and letting you go on your own. They also pour the flights in plastic cups. We were pleasantly greeted as soon as we walked into the tasting room which is very small but has a nice big picture window to Main Street where you could order a glass of wine and people watch. My friend and i opted to stand at the bar and each ordered a tasting. Between the two of us, we tasted 12 wines and honestly none of them disappointed us and we kind of think of ourselves as wine snobs . I am especially dubious of "flavored wines" such as what they call Beach Bum, Cake and Carnival but they were actually very fun and delicious! Our pourer was wonderful, she was very knowledgeable about each of the wines and was friendly. We ended up buying 6 bottles for a discount but as they ship we know we'll be buying more online. We were here from Las Vegas and spent two days traveling through Pennsylvania and New Jersey enjoying wineries. Franklin Hill Vineyards was the highlight of our trip. Kimberly, our wine server (I'm probably destroying her actual title), was attentive and so professional! She knew exactly what I wanted from just a few short questions, and gave us a taste of her personal favorite, the "Red Head", that she told us tasted like crème brûlée (it did!). And, she remembered me (AND MY WINE TASTING SAMPLES) the next day!! We enjoyed it enough to come back the next day! Great experience! We are originally from Ohio and ventured to PA for a friend's wedding. We were immediately greeted upon entering and during our pretasting conversation were given the scoop on the area along with several recommendations of where to eat, get another drink, etc. The inside was very clean and they did a great job with only allowing two parties in at a time. While waiting in line we were acknowledged and did not feel ignored. The tasting is set up as a flight to go and there was outdoor seating available to sit outside and enjoy the wine, scenery, and company. We will definitely make the stop next time we are out that way on a visit. read more

Great store with very friendly staff who are inviting and welcoming. We bought a bottle here last year on a whim and absolutely loved it. We aren't from the immediate area and have searched local state liquor stores and couldn't find it. So this year we returned and bought a case. We also got a few new wines to try over the holidays. The staff will let you try any of the wines but really spend their time trying to point you in the right direction based on your palette. Let them guide you and you won't be let down. Parking is a little bit of an issue during the holidays so try to get in before 6 if not your going to have a little bit of a walk. On the positive side you will get to enjoy all the Christmas lights and little shops they have set up in town. read more

I came here in October during quarantine, to try the wine. I LOVE that they offer flights, so you can try all the wines, and decide which ones you like best. The girl behind the counter was super friendly, and accommodating. I ended up leaving with 6 bottles of wine, and my friend left with 18!!! (Mostly Christmas presents.) I'm a fan of sweet wines, and the cotton candy, cake batter, and so many other wines really hit the spot. Can't wait to go back! read more

We came here after finding out they were offering a Girl Scout Cookie wine tasting! So fun, right?! It cost $12 to pair 4 different cookies with 4 flights of wine. The pours were super generous. I loved the Sir Walters Red and Trio. RedHead and Breathless were not for me, but they paired well with each cookie. (The full bottles are on sale and are reasonably priced!) The space is small - there is a main bar with a few table seats. It's good for a small gathering with friends. Definitely recommend for a girls day out or drinks with mom! read more

I was initially excited to visit this "winery" after seeing a majority of positive reviews. Upon arriving I quickly realized that this place is not a winery in the traditional sense. It is a 50 square foot room with 4 tables located outside for customers to enjoy their drinks. The main positive thing about this place is that it is located on the Main Street strip that has about a hundred different places to dine or drink. Flights consist of 4, 5.5 fluid ounce drinks for $15. "Glasses" of 9 fluid ounce wines are $7. They also sell bonafide Caprice Sun pouches of wine that are 16 fluid ounces for $15. The math simply doesn't add up. To top off the financial inconsistencies, they don't allow you to purchase a bottle to enjoy on one of the 4 tables they have directly outside the establishment. Now to get started on the wine: please for the love of all that is holy - do not order any of the "sweet" wines. The "pumpkin spice" wine is an unholy creation that should have never seen the light of day. Moreover, the other sweet red wines are all too sugary with no actual flavor. They straight up tasted artificial. The service itself was okay; the girls behind the counter were nice enough given the circumstances. The white wines we got were decent enough; it might've been the only reason I'm giving a second star to be honest. TLDR - there are plenty of other options on Main Street to better spend your hard earned money. read more

It's kind of small inside so it did feel a little cramped once the place started filling up. I first found out about Franklin Hill Vineyards at Oktoberfest and have since been there a couple of times for a few bottles of wine. Their store on Main Street is super cute. You can try any of the wines there before buying a bottle for free and they have a pretty wide selection of wines to choose from. I personally liked the Fainting Goat (a sweet red with black cherry) and the Redhead (a red with a vanilla aftertaste). The best part about these wines is that they don't break the bank! About $10 - $12 for a good tasting bottle of wine. The service was also great. The ladies that I spoke with were nice, knowledgable, and very patient as I tried making up my mind. They also have other wine gadgets and accessories at the store, and if you are thinking about buying a bottle of wine as a gift, they have cute bags, too. read more

We stopped by Franklin Hill Vineyards after seeing their sign for daily tastings. The tasting included a selection of 5 from their list of white, red, blush, and ciders. The wines were alright, none in particular really stood out to me. Also, I was not a fan of doing a tasting out of tiny plastic condiment cups, while standing. The also don't change cups when switching from white to red. I guess for a $5 tasting I shouldn't complain too much, but this was just an over the top low budget tasting. The shop is located in a mall like setting, kind of cute and they have wine accessories for purchase. There were two ladies working, the one who hosted our tasting was alright, kind of low energy. Meanwhile the other lady at the register was a lot more enthusiastic and would regularly interject to answer our questions or provide more information. Franklin Hill really needs to step their game up with some stools and perhaps a wine glass for the tasting. I would have even opted to pay a bit more and have a souvenir wine glass to take home, as many places offer. We did buy a bottle of white to take home, as something to remember our Bethlehem trip/Franklin Hill by. Overall, worth checking out if you're visiting or nearby, but other than that I probably won't return if I'm in the area again. read more

The girls who worked their were very friendly and nice. However one was eating while we did our tasting, kind of strange. I could do without drinking the samples out of a plastic shot glass. Every single winery I have been to uses a glass. Its part of the experience. The wine itself was okay. I tend to gravitate toward the sweeter wines. Their sweet wines reminded me of a kids fruit juice or candy, just wasn't my cup of tea. I ended up having some of their catawbe (sp?) wine at social still and really enjoyed it but didn't see it on the tasting list. The tasting is three dollars for six samples. read more

Other than the long unpaved road, the vineyard was awesome. Beautiful scenery and great friendly staff. We were able to taste the actual grapes and were invited to come see their press process. Tasted some amazing wines and left with quite a few of them. Definitely worth the trip! read more
