If he does not know why certain pain relievers help his patients, then he will NOT prescribe them, even though other doctors and pain specialists in California have prescribed the meds. To make it worse, he compares his patients to heroin junkies, he will make an analogy about someone coming into his office and asking for Methadone to treat pain even though he does not know why they need it to treat their pain. Methadone is for heroin junkies. If you ask for pain meds that worked before, then to him you are just a junky. Guilty until proven innocent. He does not trust his patients, and does not advocate for their health. As a doctor, he must "first do no harm". He harmed my girlfriend, seeing him caused a panic attack, he was awful and rude, it was depressing, and instilled hopelessness and fear in her, and regret we moved to Cleveland for the affordable housing. She will have to suffer in pain, let her body atrophy in bed, let her back muscles atrophy more, further weakening her spine, making her mood depressed and physical health worse. So sad, because she hurt her back being an RN, and now that she needs help, this doctor treated her like a criminal, and left her to suffer in pain. He made her feel like a criminal, a liar, an idiot. Leaving a patient bed ridden for 9 days will make them worse, people need to get up and move around, this doctor does not understand that, or just assumes all his patients are junkies, or maybe he wants them to get sicker so he can perform a surgery on them. She is an RN, with a long history of pain from more than one condition. But he knows better, he is an Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, so he can produce more doctors that cause harm just like him. We are considering moving out of Ohio because of this, and out of the United States if this is a federal thing, criminalizing pain patients. My girlfriend felt hopeless, powerless, and without care. He would rather you lay in bed for 9 days with pain, then give you medicine that has worked in California. He does not seem interested in finding out why she needs the meds, he is interested in finding reasons why he should NOT prescribe pain meds that have worked well in the past. He even talked to the other doctor in California, but he still does not know WHY the pain meds heal her, so will not prescribe, he knows better, what a smug and condescending doctor. Anything the patient says is, "just your opinion". He is a Doctor, as such, after a short visit, he knows you and your body better than anyone​ else, even though he did not even bother to look at, or feel her back. He causes great harm to his patients, and gets rich doing it. He knows a lot of things, but one thing he does not know, is her pain. If he could only switch bodies with her to understand. We cannot switch bodies, but we can have compassion, and trust a patient who is in dire need of pain relief, instead he leaves her to suffer, get worse physically and emotionally. He causes harm. People talk about how the medical care in Cleveland is so great. It's not, it is a system rigged to extract as much money from patients, insurance, and the government as possible. They will keep you sick, so they can keep you coming back for more appointments, and procedures, draining you of money, until you die or are crippled. Don't come to Cleveland. For the past two years I have suffered from chronic lower back pain. At times, it would be so bad…read morethat I would have difficulty walking for prolonged periods of time.  I have seen other chiropractors, however, none managed to resolve the issue; I would leave appointments with the pain subsided, only to have it resurface in a half hour or so. Not to mention, appointments were often rushed through and the quality of care poor. A friend of mine referred me to Dr. Alberty, and thanks to him, my lower back issue has been resolved - I feel like a brand new person! He has such a keen ability to diagnose and treat; he is very thorough during his appointments; and, he provides quality service. For those looking for a great chiropractor, I highly recommend!
