You may think of Dr. Bengelsdorf and his team as strictly providing cosmetic treatments, but I had a crazy and serious infection in the middle of my back around a Sebaceous Cyst and my old dermatologist had told me "I could do something about that, but it will just come back" ...he never informed me that it could turn into a serious infection. Well in 2017 I was alone in Franklin in the midst of a hectic relocation from Pennsylvania - with no doctors, no dermatologist or anything and barely knew anything about Franklin in general, and I felt a serious pain in my back and saw a huge red patch about the size of my wallet in the middle of my back and didn't have a clue what it was or what the hell to do about it... Terrible experience, the first time i went I got the BBL WITHOUT NUMBING (I wasn't offered this) the lady offered me numbing at the end of my service for my next appointment but I was in so much pain the first time literally cringing every second of it and she didn't stop. She should have offered the numbing solution for this appointment as well. Someone should have. This is the norm at most places that offer skin laser treatments. I talked to several friends who have done it at other places and they all were offered numbing products. Also for the next appointment I called more than 24 hrs earlier to reschedule an appointment and got charged $100 just as a rescheduling fee. I will not be coming back. read more

During my consultation I was able to speak freely about my skin concerns as well as things I'd like to do as far as Botox/laser treatments. Dr. B is a perfectionist and did this new Botox technique (mind you I'm a frequent injectable flyer...been getting it done for 10+ years) and I'm sooo happy with the results. Very distrusting business. It took me two weeks to get an appointment for a facial treatment. I had entered my credit card in order to secure the spot. On the day of my appointment I accidentally forgot that I switched my purse the day before and I left my wallet in another purse. After filling out the lengthy survey questionnaire I realized I didn't have my credit card with me. I immediately told the receptionist and asked if they could keep my drivers license and a bunch of new valuable gift cards I found in my purse and let me give them my credit card number after i get home. She said no without any hesitation. Then I remembered I also could pay by venmo after she asked me if I remembered my credit card number by heart and of course I didn't. Even though they should have my credit card on file since I gave them the card information in order to secure my appointment but she said they didn't. I asked the receptionist if she could ask someone to take my venmo payment she said " No and it's our policy. There is no way we can keep your appointment unless you have your credit card available before the treatment." She didn't even consider it but told me an absolute No when I offered to let her keep my drivers license and a bunch of valuable gift cards (two brand new $50 Amazon gifts card I purchased the day before and a bunch of others that I kept in my purse) as collateral before I call her with my credit card information. I left and will never return to this awful place that only cares about collecting prepayment and shows zero trust in their customer or respects the time I spent driving there, waiting in the room and filling out so much paper work when there is no financial risk for them at all. read more

Two days ago Dr. Bengelsdorf at Franklin Skin and Laser (http://www.franklinlaser.com) removed an infected cyst from my 13 year old daughter's leg. He walked us through the options and carefully explained the pros and cons of each approach in a way that we both could understand them. We agreed on the best approach and then he began to prep. We walked out of his office, cyst free. Everyone working there supported us through every step. My daughter, who was understandably nervous, told me that the nurse, Deana, made sure that she was comfortable and helped calm her, while still assisting Dr. Bengelsdorf. My daughter also said that Dr. Bengelsdorf was very, calming, and very nice, and that he talked to her throughout the procedure, letting her know what was going to happen. In the meantime, the receptionist, Trina, and the manager, Sarah, both supported me while I waited. Then, the next morning, after my daughter had a chance to rest, we went back to the office. Dr. Bengelsdorf taught her how to pack and dress the wound. But more importantly, his words gave her the confidence she needed to care for it herself. Last night and this morning, she wasn't afraid, she knew what to do and she knew it wouldn't hurt. She was so proud of herself because she cleaned the area, changed the packing, and dressed it all... by herself. They explained everything, they were incredibly supportive, there were no unnecessary tests, and my daughter feels confident taking care of herself... an extraordinary experience. The staff was nice, but I got coolsculpting that did not work. Honestly, my before looked better than my after. I work out with a personal trainer and eat clean. So, I did everything I was supposed to do. It did not work on me. I guess I was not a candidate for it, but I wish I would have been told that before the procedure. read more

I saw Dr. Bengelsdorf for help with removal of cherry angiomas on my face, neck, and chest / decolletage areas. I also requested assistance with acne scarring on my face around my mouth/chin and with one particular scar on my chest. I found Dr. Bengelsdorf to be minimally professional, but when it came to helping with scars, he shamed me for my weight, saying he could not help with my acne scars on my mouth and chin because "Look at your jaws - I mean, they're just hanging there." Despite my shock at that statement, I went against my better judgment and allowed him to treat the one scar on my chest. When it went badly, he would not treat it further, despite the stitches he himself put in being the reason for the inflammatory response. I ended up having to go to a plastic surgeon in Franklin, Dr. Ted Behar, to fix the mess left behind by Dr. Bengelsdorf. I would never, ever see this doctor again, for any reason. read more

I purchased a bikini and full leg package from here and at first i really liked this place, until i also visited nashville laser spa. After visiting NSL, i have to say that my visits were absolute TORTURE at franklin skin and laser. they started my laser BIKINI package out at either a 14 or 16, and if you dont know how painful that is, well i basically left in tears. not to mention the fact that the first few treatments i got from them i left with huge red welts all over my legs and bikini and it itched like crazy.and until my last two treatments i just had to grit my teeth and bear it. Then when I had my first visit at NSL, it was great, they started me out at a low setting and it worked just as well as when I was getting "torture" treatments. On my last visit when i asked them to turn the laser setting down at franklin skin and laser, their idea of turning it down was turning it to like a 20. Now after all that money and pain I went through my legs, nor my bikini are hair free. I would not go through it again if you PAID ME! I will be sticking with NSL from now on for all of my treatments. they are nicer, they dont torture you, and they have a hair free guarantee. so even if you buy a package there and your not hair free after all seven treatments they will give you free treatments for two more years. read more
