Unfortunately I do not care for the new neighborhood of her salon nor the arrangements in the salon. The atmosphere is horrible. Street vendors walk in to sell stuff to patrons while you are getting hair color. Sometimes male and sometimes female. Local security guards will walk in and interrupt her while she is attending to women patrons. I find it extremely weird and unsafe. And many other patrons have expressed similar sentiments. I am told they have to earn their living so she allows them to walk around bugging her customers. This is unacceptable. Next door smoke shops and bar are not an ideal place for a hair salon to be nestled in. In addition, a male barber shop inside her salon is also a very awkward arrangement. Some women customers have complained about foul language coming out loud and clear while they are getting hair treatment. Many young men visit this location - some are cops as well. Some women have complained these men start following them around. She does not have the sensitivity to understand what a salon environment should look like therefore has not cared to pay much attention to it nor plans to. Wishing her the best as I do not intend to revisit her location, it is not a salon. And hope she starts caring for her patrons' personal space and privacy. Not everyone feels comfortable to have local vendors walk in a women's salon and disrupt them.

But went to check out and she added another $80 for long hair and for a toner on the color. There was a sign behind the register stating this - not in the Groupon. I called in advance and she offered to give me the Groupon price if I showed a picture of it and paid directly vs her having to split the fee with Groupon. I agreed. Wish she'd mentioned the "up charges" so I was prepared. My "deal" Turned out to be the cost of what many salons charge $150 and I left a $30 tip (to the owner!) so $180. I get that many charge more than this for cut and color which is why I looked for Groupons to lower the cost . I was at the salon for 90 min. They were quick and efficient. Very friendly sisters who run the place. But it felt sneaky! I don't get the up-charge for longer hair (which was cut before the color) or that a small bottle of toner rinsed thru the hair costs $80. I know many who'd argue this- but be up front about it. Hair care has become so expensive this is why I go to Groupon. - next time I'll know to ask about additional charges.
