I was looking for a reliable colorist in Edgewater, NJ, and chose this salon based on the positive reviews and which is 5 min away from me, expecting professional service. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I came in for a root touch-up and glaze, but the stylist assigned to me seemed unprepared and unsure how to mix or apply the color. The owner had to step in and guide her through the entire process. When the color was rinsed out, it was at least two shades lighter than my natural shade. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I pointed this out, the stylist insisted it matched, but the owner eventually asked her to redo it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The second attempt came out somewhat better, but still not what I expected. During the blow-dry, my scalp was burned twice. Overall, it was one of the worst salon experiences I've had. I paid $160 for a service that should have been straightforward, yet the results were poor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The owner should ensure that new customers are booked with experienced professionals to build trust and loyalty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Now, only three weeks later, my hair has turned reddish, and I need to have it redone elsewhere. Just got my hair done their for the first time. My daughters engagement party is the day after and my hair is naturally going gray and frizzy. Jennifer did my hair and I highly recommend her. Not only did she give me a great cut and style, but she listened to my wants and fears. As she cut, she asked me questions and kept me informed of the process. I felt so bad for her because I kept changing what I wanted. She was so friendly and reassuring. Best hair experience I've ever had in the 52 years of my life. Your time at the salon is enhanced by wonderful treats such as cappuccino, bottled waters , and even food on the day that I went as they were having a Thanksgiving event . Well deserved reviews. I'm new to the area and have been to 3 salons in 3 months. Most were okay but I hadn't found a stylist who I felt was willing to understand my hair, or that I felt I really trusted to listen to my concerns. After my failed attempts to find a salon using yelps most reviewed salons, or recommendations - I saw a photo of the Hair Den. It was beautiful! The reviews were great too so I gave them a call and left a message. The owner called back and we started chatting - she really is as nice as the reviews say. Just completely down to earth but confident too - the kind of stylist you know will tell you the honest truth about what will work and what won't. That's what I wanted! I visited later and had a glaze and haircut done. Even when I've gotten great haircuts I've gone home washed and styled my hair the way I do it.
