I would leave zero stars if that was an option. I had planned to go in to purchase at least a new tuxedo shirt for an upcoming event, or possibly a new tuxedo. I also needed to pick up a pair of shoes that had been repaired at a shop a few doors down. I parked in front of Frank's and was walking toward the shoe repair when a man yelled at me that I couldn't park there. I said that I was going to pick up my shoes first, then come in to his store. He was adamant that I could not park there. I returned to my car, drove around the block, parked by the shoe repair, got my shoes, and left. Anyone who is that angry and unwelcoming is not going to get my business. p.s. I got a new tuxedo at another store and it looks AMAZING with my shoes. read more

Simply put, Frank is a terrible business owner. My boyfriend and I have bought tuxedo apparel for our work outfits from him in the past. So, for context we've dropped some money here. We figured he could mend what we've purchased from him, so we asked and dropped off a few pairs of pants. He charged us $20 for 4 in advance. We waited patiently, but after a month rolled around, we started calling. When we called him, he had no idea what we were talking about. We were brushed off for days. It was obvious the pants weren't done. He kept saying he was "too busy with wedding stuff." Really? To sew up a few holes in 4 pairs of pants? I wonder why he even accepted our items in the first place. Finally, we told him we were coming that day and he said he was still working on them (WTF?!) so we took our time. When we got the pants we realized one of them wasn't fixed. We figured it would be appropriate to be refunded for that pair, but Frank disagreed. When we brought that to his attention, he yelled at my boyfriend. He told him that he is "not a bank" and that he actually should have charged him 80 dollars for the repairs. He raised his voice and acted super unprofessionally. He even tried to rip the pants out of my boyfriend's hands. It certainly wasn't worth the $5 to us so my boyfriend told him it was bad business and we left. I wouldn't recommend this place AT ALL. Do not waste your time and money. read more

We were in a rush to get a suit for a wedding, and this place was a life saver! Frank was able to get us the perfect suit with alterations in less than a week with a great deal. We couldn't find the exact beige/tan suit from larger chains in the area but found a good variety here. This place was a lifesaver for me! I hate getting dressed up but found myself in a situation where I needed a nice suit. I put off buying one for too long because I was dreading the whole process, not to mention not wanting to spend a lot of cash on something I'll rarely use. That was a huge mistake because buying a suit was way more complicated than I ever imagined. I apparently have measurements that aren't common because trying to find something that fit me was a nightmare. Macy's and Joseph Banks didn't have anything that would fit me. The salesman at Joseph Banks had me try on pants that were laughably too big for me. Nordstrom Rack had a jacket and pants that I thought were "ok" (not a feeling you want for something expensive), but they needed to be modified to fit me and their only tailor was out for an unspecified amount of time due to a family emergency. I was beginning to panic because I was rapidly running out of time. After some frantic Google searches about where to buy a suit I saw a suggestion about renting a suit. I knew renting tuxedos is common but I didn't know that you could rent a suit as well. I was skeptical when I saw the website for Frank's Formal Wear because it looks like it's from 1995 and the place had no Yelp reviews, but I decided to give them a chance and I'm glad that I did! When I arrived and told Frank what I was looking for I was very surprised that he didn't take any of my measurements. He just looked at me for a second and said he would go see what he had in stock. A few minutes later he returned with a handful of clothes. He handed me a slick looking black jacket which I loved and fit me perfectly. With that out of the way I next tried on the pants he handed me. They also fit perfectly. Are you kidding me? When I expressed bewilderment that he not only had my size but had found exactly what I wanted without measuring me he said, "That is the benefit of going to a master tailor!" I certainly agree with him! He also had a white shirt, which of course fit me perfectly. He picked out a very nice tie as well. STAY AWAY. Frank is a crook. He ordered the wrong tuxes for my best friend's wedding for all 10 groomsmen. His place smells terrible and so did our suits. I had to take it immediately to the dry cleaners only to find out a few hours later it wasn't even the right suit. We had to go to Men's Wearhouse and pay for a rush order to get new suits in time for the wedding. Now Frank is being slow and difficult to refund our money and claiming we all owe him 50 a piece for the rentals - outrageous. He is making some shady excuses and refused to take ownership of his own mistake in mishandling the order. We returned the tuxes and he is keeping the money hostage over the weekend. Ridiculous. This place sinks, is in total disarray, paper receipts, no technology - really it's not surprising he dropped the ball on the order. What is surprising is how this guy stays in business at all. I've bought a tuxedo and two suits from Frank and I have yet to be disappointed. Every time I've come to him he helped me pick a suit that looks both professional and is comfortable for me to perform in (since I am a musician and I frequently need to dress up for performances). The one hiccup I've ever had was when the manufacturer had difficulty finding my suit size and Frank had the suit shipped overnight to make sure I could still have it in time for the start of my school year. Nothing but good things to say about FRANK. Now i wasn't in a big hurry for my items, but we did order out some parts that came in quickly and were correct. Vest was a bit large but was changed out easily and without any hassle. He took the time to get things right and measured and sized everything quickly and quite well. Went here to try to rent a suit for an upcoming wedding that I will be in out of state (to be ordered through a large formalwear distributor that listed this place as one of the local options). I had all of the style numbers in hand for the suit that the groom specified, with the goal obviously to rent through this place, try on the suit when it arrives in a few weeks, and perform any needed alterations just before traveling with it for the wedding. Instead, I was charged $20 for measurements then afterwards told I could not rent the suit through Frank's, but must instead call another place near the (out-of-state) wedding with the measurements he gave me and rent there. Clearly this defeats the purpose as I cannot show up the day of the wedding there and pick up a suit that may or may not fit exactly right. This didn't seem to register and instead spent the time on the defensive trying to avoid escalation into argument while it seems he did not understand. Despite having catalogs on hand in the store for that same distributor, I was made to feel that my request for such a standard suit rental procedure was ridiculous and incorrect. Needless to say, I called another Tux/Bridal place in town that the formalwear distributor listed and was immediately serviced there upon arrival later that same day, measurements taken and exact suit with all the components ordered as specified, piece of cake (and will have here the week prior to the wedding so I can try on and adjust to show up looking good). Rather than be swindled like I was by this fly-by-night operation by ownership that knows better than you, look elsewhere in Tampa for better options. read more

At the end of the day, Frank does NOT care if he gets your order right or if he messes it up- to say he ruined our wedding weekend would be an understatement. Got ALL of the suits wrong- not what we ordered at all! We didn't know this until one of the groomsmen called my husband asking why he chose a suit that was so baggy- that's when we figured out frank messed up the order and then willingly started distributing the wrong suit as members of our wedding party went to pick them up! We ordered specific Ike Behar suits which were slim fit and modern, and frank had some old school Ralph Lauren suits instead. Frank did not care that this was the wrong suit at all- said a black suit is a black suit! Oh and he also pretty much blamed it all on my dad. My father is a larger man, and frank claims they didn't have the suit pant in my dads size so they had to switch it out with a different suit and that's how all the suits must have gotten messed up! We had frank call the guy who he orders rental suits from in front of us and we could hear frank reply at one point saying "oh you emailed me? I don't do email." We are assuming since he never responded to the email, the company made the decision to send all matching suits instead of just sending one different one for my father. Regardless, my poor father felt responsible for the whole mix up during a time when he should be experiencing nothing but joy! The fact is- Frank knew we ordered Ike Behar suits, and when the order was delivered to him he knew it wasn't what we wanted, and he still started handing them out to wedding party members anyways! Then he wanted to say that since people left with the suits, he couldn't do a full refund. He would still have to charge $50 for walking out of the store with the suit! Absolutely insane! How were other people supposed to know it wasn't the right suit? And I guess I can't forget to mention that out of the suits picked up, one was extremely dirty, and one smelled awful. We are still having issues with everyone getting their refunds, and it's 3 weeks later! Thank God for the amazing people at Men's Warehouse! They saved the day- literally took care of all our suit needs with the 24 hours we had left before the wedding. Frank scewed us and Doesn't want to take accountability! It's sad there are such awful people out there- avoid this place!!!! read more

Frank was asked to make some suits for my friend's wedding at the beginning of October 2015. The order was originally made in the summer of 2015. After failing to procure the appropriate materials in time to complete the task, all of the suits had to be rented from the Men's Warehouse. To add insult to injury, three of the groomsmen weren't paid back the money for the suits they paid for with Frank. I have called at least four times requesting my money back and he continues to tell me the check is in the mail. I've had it. He's a cheat and a liar. read more

Wedding's are stressful enough without having to babysit your incompetant, ignorant, arrogant and underqualified tailor. I could fill a few pages listing the dastardly and wildly unprofessional moments that marred the experience but would rather tell you to simply allow someone else to handle the most important day of your life. You're not going to want someone who can't hold a deadline, make an alteration, answer a phone, write down measurements or take any semblance of responsibility for their business and staff. Avoid the "I told you so moment" before your stuck spending your final pre-wedding hours hoping this hack can deliver you the pirate shirt from Seinfeld let alone the actual tux in size you requested and are paying for. If I were the groom and not just a groomsman, I probably would have had a stroke from the mix of frustration and raw irreverance. It's borderline comical. Have your party pay the extra 5 dollars for an actual professional. read more
