Trying to find the venue felt like a fever dream - the inside of the building leading up to Rascals was just a maze of basement backrooms with barely ANY signage. It was very bizarre. When we finally found the actual entrance to Rascals we felt so accomplished. The cover was cash only, but they had an ATM right there. The space is BIG. I can see why it's such a popular venue for line dancing. So much room for activities! We got a drink & some change to tip the performers from the very sweet bartender & found a high top table near the back of the audience space so that we could have a good line of sight to the stage. It didn't take long for us to become chilly. It felt like it was 62 ish degrees inside, & since it's a basement venue with no windows, this felt really cold. Bring layers! Despite the crowd being a bit more subdued than what we're used to, the show still knocked our socks off. The acoustics were well balanced, the space allowed the performers to be creative, & you could see the stage from almost anywhere in the venue. I would definitely come back to Rascals for a special occasion, or maybe even to try their beginner line dancing classes, but I'd remember to dress warmly.

It was served over a bed of "angel hair." The angel hair was cut up in multiple small pieces... the way you would serve it to a baby experiencing pasta for the first time. I asked our waitress "why is the pasta all cut up like this?" She responded: "I don't know." Not only was it cut up into pieces...(who does that? ) it was also soggy and way overcooked. The meal was a huge disappointment. My other dining companion ordered the fried pork chop which was a special. It wasn't too bad... he reported it was tender... it came with mash and a side of corn that looked like it came straight out of a can of Delmonte. No frills there. It was clearly canned corn. My sister got the cavatappi pasta that came with shrimp ; cannellini beans and a veg mixed in and it was swimming in a sub-par sauce that was lacking in any seasoning. All the entrees lacked basic seasoning. I want to go to a restaurant where my dish is made to order. Hot and crispy cutlets; Al Dente pasta; corn that's not poured out of a tin can and entrees that are served hot! This place has gone way downhill. I was there several years ago my experience was very different. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant and it certainly wasn't worth the $300 dollars (including tip) that we paid. Entrees were 30 + dollars each! What a joke to be charging those prices for the sub-standard food we were served. We will never go back. On a Positive note, my sister was given a lovely birthday dessert plate of sticky toffee pudding and ice cream.

She was super friendly, helpful and was genuinely happy we were here. You don't usually find that in a neighborhood bar. They had a great brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays. We'll be back to try the smash burger. For now the homemade fried pickles were so good! The cowboy butter ranch put it over the edge. We'll be back!
