I wish I could give her zero star. This doctor and her assistants are difficult to work with. They are very reluctant to correct their error: If you want your doctor to make mistakes at your mri order, the assistant that will sound annoyed and offended when you call and tell them you need them to send an extend request for your insurance authorization since the mistake delayed the scheduling; if you could get ready for that assistant to be so impatient to talk more that she simply lies to you that the extension authorization is already there; and if you don't mind getting a number of urgent calls from St. Jude radiology and your primary doctor telling you the extension was not approved at all; if you now do not mind having to contact your insurance company to find out the doctor 's assistant did lie to you and when you contact the doctor again, she simply refuses to give the insurance company a call to speed it up like the insurance advised, now this is the doctor you are looking for. If I could give negative stars I would. She is a doctor of Gynecology and one would think that being such a sensitive matter, there would be some care and concern, but there was NONE of that. Never smiled. Never looked me in the eye. She acted like she was too busy to care and that it was an inconvenience to be there. Never explained why I had been referred to her. Never explained the after care and what to expect from the biopsy she took. NOTHING!!! After having further testing, I was never contacted to confirm the results that had been received by her office, but was just expected to wait 2 weeks to get them. When I inquired, I was just told they don't call patients about test results and to take care. huh? I have an extensive medical history and have seen a lot of doctors and can understand how everyone can have a bad day; however, I doubt she ever has a good one. My experience with Dr Franks has been healing. I would highly recommend this Doctor. I've been with her for 6 years now. When I go to her with issues, she listens and acknowledges my concerns. She explains my options and gives thorough explanations and recommendations. 3 years ago, I came to her with uterus pain. (I am writing this review on my husband's account) I truly cannot say enough BAD things about this so called doctor. I am shocked by some of the good reviews that are one here. For context, I am a nurse so I know firsthand how to interact with patients and practice bedside manner, both of which this doctor lacks. I saw Dr. Franks months ago for what I thought was a UTI or yeast infection (turns out it was neither). Dr Franks walked into the room, barely acknowledged me and sat at the computer without saying a word. She then proceeds to interrogate me on why I had not had a recent pap smear (which is not why I came in) I explained that I was not here for that and it clearly pissed her off. I tried to explain why I had come in and felt completely blown off. I also tried to share with her that I felt uncomfortable with an internal exam at this time and since all of my symptoms were external I would prefer if she just took a look. She did not listen to a word I said and instead went ahead with an extremely rushed and painful internal exam. When I asked her to stop, she continued until I was almost in tears. At the end of the exam she ripped off her gloves and raised her voices at me explaining that I was inhibiting her from doing her job and left them room. I was and still am appalled by her treatment of me. Every patient has the RIGHT to refuse any exam, let alone one that is vulnerable. I left her office in tears and called Providence to report her mistreatment. Turns out it was neither a yeast infection or a UTI which were the only tests that she sent in. It was completely external and thankfully I was able to get treatment from a male doctor at an urgent care. read more

I wasted my time coming to this office for a consultation and didn't even bother to stay so I could see Dr. Frank's after the little time I spent their dealing with her staff and her. Dr Theresa Franks is my GYN doctor. She's in charge of my yearly routine examination. I like the punctual of her office. I didn't have to wait at all. This is a horrible person to be a doctor- I went to my 1st appointment last week and as soon as enter the room she was so unprofessional - not a kind word came out of her mouth - I just don't understand why she is still doing this profession as a doctor. Dr. Franks was my OB when I was pregnant with my son. She helped alleviate much of my stress as a young first time mom. I was grateful for her calm compassion. Fast forward years later, I am having extreme uterine pain. She helped determine the cause and performed a partial hysterectomy, alleviating all of my symptoms. Through my sadness of this life event, she was wonderful. Supportive and considerate, and patient with all my questions and the time I needed to make my decision. I would strongly recommend her as your doctor whether you are expecting a baby, trying to get pregnant, or later in life, when you're dealing with feminine issues. read more

I have seen Dr Franks twice. I agree with some reviews she not very warm and fuzzy but...shes a great doctor and I believe she is very knowledgeable of her practice. She diagnosed me and gave me a simple treatment plan and a problem i had been suffering with for a month went away within days. Sometimes you just need a doctor that understands what they are seeing, treats it and thats that. I had taken several antibiotics from other doctors that now i believe were unnecessary. She may not want to talk about your day or your family but she gets to the point and i respect that. Also unlike many St Jude drs she is very responsive on mychart and that is huge for me.Also they are very punctual which is a big plus. Dr. Franks is INTELLIGENT, talented, compassionate and thorough. She completed my total hysterectomy (and three other procedures at that time) in 2002 and I'm still delighted with the outcome!!!!! I saw her for follow-ups AND scheduled maintenance until I moved away in 2010. The ultimate kudos to her, is that I took my daughters to see her for the HPV vaccines. Unfortunately, my experience was not good. Dr. Franks seemed annoyed before she even came in. I was simply concerned about my recent weight gain due to post menopause. She told me I needed to exercise. When I told her that I already did 5 days a week, she responded, well then, you need to exercise 7 days then. I asked about my hormone levels because I was hoping to get some bloodwork done to see if their was any bioidentical hormones I could try, well, I never got to ask because she told me that I can't just give you a pill. I let her know that I wasn't looking for a pill. Dr. Franks then told me to go to an endocrinologist so they could check my thyroid. I let her know that I already see one. She told me to make an appointment then. It was as though I was a huge inconvenience to her. Huge mistake in seeing this doctor. I hope to goodness that I can find anyone else next time. Very sad! Why does dr Franks talk like that to me, so condescending. She pisses me off by the way she talks to me. I almost told her what's wrong with her instead I just talked a little louder and gave her some of the condensing back to her. She talks like I'm stupid, just reading the other reviews (specifically on vitals) on her, I guess that the way she is, maybe she should have been a court litigation attorney not a doctor. Dr. Franks is an amazing doctor. With anxiety and depression, I'm not an easy patient. She has such a quiet and calming manner and immediately sits down and talks to you and even makes eye contact. Saw this doctor when I was pregnant years ago but still traumatized by my experience. I am not going to go into personal details, put it this way Dr Franks is as basic as they get as a doctor. I had an absolutely horrible visit today. First of all, the staff up front are extremely rude and so is the nurse upon checking me in. She acknowledged me by my last name instead of saying my First and Last name. She was giggling with the girl at the front desk before closing the door to my exam room. From the start, I am feeling like this is not a professional office! When Dr. Franks came in I let her know how rude the girls were and she said with the computers down this morning, everyone is just a bit stressed? Did she apologize? Did she say anything to make me feel better about how rude her staff is? Nothing. I explained to her how much I loved the office in Yorba Linda, and she stated that she's just an employee of St. Jude/Joseph's Heritage and works where they send her. She also asked if we were going to have this exam or not as she explained how busy she was and needed to get back to her patients. At this point, I said that I will not be having this exam. I was about to make another appointment, but caught myself.. Why? Who am I kidding? The minute she walked into the office it was like she was pissed that I was there. This was my first time meeting her, she was very condescending.. acted as if I was bothering her by being there. she trying to explain to me in a very condescending irritated manner, the 2 cysts on my ovary..told me they were normal but scheduled an ultrasound for 3 months out, even though after examining me she told me she couldn't feel anything and they were probably gone...after the 3 month ultrasound, they had GROWN! Then I get an outrageous phone call from her telling me it's nothing to worry about (even though the radiologist is suggesting an MRI right away)...she was pissed that I wanted the MRI..and told me she would just schedule to have my ovaries removed!!! WTF!!! First you tell me that it's normal but now you're telling me you're just gonna take them out?!?!?! Ok Crazy!!! NEVER going back to her !!!!! read more

The years I worked with her she always went out of her way to make sure every patient is well taken care from start to finish. Dr Franks educates all her patients regarding whatever matter is brought up at the visit, leaving no question unanswered. I have many family and friends that see her, and know they are getting the best care! She also ensures all her nurses are the best for her patients. Dr Framks has been my GYN for close to 10 years. I think she is an amazing doctor. I not only trust her for my care, but also for my 3 daughters. Dr Framks has always been on time for all of our appointments and she is very efficient and thorough. I love the fact that we can be silly during a pap rather than it being so quiet and awkward. .My oldest daughter had a mis-carriage last year and Dr. Frank's was there right by her side the whole time. She was available to take my daughter's phone calls before, during and after this difficult time. She even called to check on my daughter the day after. I am so incredibly thankful to know that she is there for me and my daughter's as she helps us navigate the hard parts of being a woman. I refer all my friends to her as well. This review is about Dr. Franks' office because I didn't even get to meet her. Here are my key points because the rest may be a bit long. 1) A subpar employee in the doctor's office reflects poorly on the doctor. 2) If you are a new patient, be familiar with your insurance policy. For example, apparently some insurance policies mandate that you wait 12 months + 1 day before you can get your annual pap smear. I found Dr. Franks through Cigna and online searches, and scheduled a 9:30 appointment for my annual checkup before the year ends. This morning I followed all instructions- arrived 15 minutes prior to the appointment time, brought all completed paperwork and patient surveys. The receptionist named Destiny took my paperwork, led me to an exam room, and asked if it had been 12 months since my last pap smear. I responded I'm not sure but I have test results from my old doctor (she closed her practice and mailed me my records) and can show her. Destiny looks at my file and notices that the last one was late December of 2014, which is not quite 12 months and a day. She says Cigna will make me pay for this out of pocket because it hasn't been 12 months yet, and that this could end up costing me hundreds of dollars. I wasn't aware of this, but I trusted that she knows what she's talking about. Destiny offers to double check, comes back and says I should reschedule because yes Cigna will force me to pay for this out of pocket. At this point I genuinely appreciated her proactive concern and agreed to reschedule to January. I left the building, get to my car, and call Cigna because this ridiculous rule made me miss out on my medical checkups this year. But Cigna tells me this is incorrect, they will cover the cost of today's exam/test results 100%. It was now 9:45a- hoping I can maybe get this over with after all, I immediately called the hospital from the parking lot and explained the discrepancy between what Destiny told me and what Cigna told me. They put me on a long hold (nearly 13 min) and say the doctor can still see me. So I rush back into the building and get to Destiny's desk. She comes out of the back door and is visibly annoyed with the situation and is adamant that Cigna will make me pay for this out of pocket. I tell her then why would Cigna tell me it's 100% covered, to which she says she checked with the doctor who has never seen this before, checked with her coworkers, and they all say the same thing. She has the SAME policy. She even made a show of calling her boss in front of me to confirm. Still confused and now feeling like an idiot, I asked can we call Cigna to double check? Response: she doesn't have the time right now- there are patients waiting and it is getting late (past 10a). What?! SO WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T YOU CALL CIGNA EARLIER WHEN YOU WERE FIRST "DOUBLE CHECKING"??? Destiny was adamant that I had it wrong, that the Cigna rep had it wrong, and that I can sign a waiver saying I understand I may be billed for this visit because Cigna will not cover it. Even though I'm pissed with her incompetence, I'm not willing to risk paying hundreds of dollars out of pocket for this increasingly awful experience, so I leave, get back to my car, and call Cigna again. Because SOMEBODY is wrong here and I'm not going to just let this shit go. The Cigna rep I got was the same woman I spoke to the first time I called. I gave her the update. She kindly explains that this (getting another annual before 12 months has passed) happens all the time and that it is odd that the hospital is so sure about what's covered in my policy when they haven't spoken with Cigna. She also offers to speak with the hospital directly and see what's going on and what she could do for me. At this point, I know today's appointment is not going to happen, but I want that lazy ass to hear from the insurance company directly, so I tell the Cigna rep that I would like for the hospital to be made aware of this. This lovely rep (Jillian) went out of her way to figure this out. First she confirms the billing department of the hospital is in agreement with Cigna on this, and that I should have been cared for today. (20 minutes passed) Jillian then had a 3-way call with someone else at the hospital and finds that this 12 month + 1 day rule is an OFFICE POLICY. What in the hell... By then another 20 minutes had passed. I missed work and wasted hours here because an incompetent employee doesn't know the difference between insurance policy and office policy and was too lazy to make a fucking phone call to Cigna. Sorry Dr. Franks, I'm sure you are as great as the other Yelpers say. But seriously, what a great hire. read more
