Driving back to Boston from CT on I 90 and decided to pick up a Christmas tree. Had no idea where to go so googled "tree's near me" and Fran's popped up. What a great place! Lots of trees propped up in stands so you could see what each looked like from all sides. Reasonably priced and lots of wonderfully helpful people to help. The flowers at Fran's are beautiful! They have a huge variety of plants. The staff were extremely friendly and helped us decide which flowers to buy. Their flowers are more expensive than Home Depot's but quality is slightly better. They also have carts you can push around so it's more convenient. There's a parking lot with plenty of spots. Without a car, it might be difficult to get there. Overall rating: 10/10 read more

Fran's was a long-time fixture outside Building #19, on Rt 27 in Natick. With the renovation of that shopping center, they have moved near the SE corner of Shopper's World. It's very easy to find them when travelling westbound on Rt 9, but it can be a bit tricky finding them from inside Shopper's World itself - but they're well worth seeking out. Super friendly service, great products. FYI - they are what I would call more of a garden center with a small amount of terrific produce (plus the very thoughtful presence of a container to shuck your corn into, when it's in season) - not a place to order a bouquet for a wedding or a funeral. But, if you need something to plant in your garden, or a decorative basket, Fran's is the place to go. read more

I had such an extraordinarily positive experience at this (new to me) garden center today, that I felt compelled to write a review. They have an incredible selection (pineapple sage? amazing!) and everything I was looking for (pretty vine, lantanas, morning glory) and so much more. Location is fantastic, too! The best part was, after all these not so great experiences elsewhere, my experience at Fran's wasn't just up to my standards, but way beyond.... Everyone -- the entire staff -- was so welcoming and helpful, pleasant and friendly! Thank you Fran, and everyone else there today. Fran's is a great place to pick up potted flowers for your garden and/or hanging baskets. I bought 2 Martha Washington plants for Mother's Day and my Mother-in-law and Grandmother-in-law loved them! Aunts who were at the party asked where we got the flowers because they were beautiful and others hadn't seen that type of flower before. (Aside from the flowers being pretty, my Mother-in-law's name is Martha, so the name of the flowers sold me.) The prices at Fran's are reasonable and the staff is helpful. read more

A hidden gem. This is my number 1 stop when looking for plants - perennials and pansies in early spring, annuals and vegetable seedlings in late spring, more perennials in late summer, chrysanthemums in early fall. He carries all the basics. Good variety. For instance - he has I'm guessing 20 varieties of tomatoes. The varieties that 90% of us grow. If you are looking for some obscure variety, this isn't the place to go. The prices are great. Very reasonable. The staff are helpful. Fran himself is a wealth of knowledge. read more

With the world as it is today, everyone is focusing on gardening and flower bed experiments. This makes it a struggle to find quality online and locally. Fran's Flowers knocked it out of the park. Customer service is outstanding - friendly, helpful and very attentive. Quality of product and variety - beyond what I could have even expected. Will I return? Not even a question in my mind. What you don't know is I live 200 miles away from Fran's and was in the area and looked up Proven Winners suppliers. Hoping I might hit the jackpot, I called and spoke with Fran to see what they had before I took the extra time to stop by. He said on our call, "I think you'll be happily surprised". The place is such a special find. I went looking for a very specific tropical plant for a gift. They didn't have one in-stock, but the desk attendant took my name and number. The next day I was contacted by the owner with options for size and pricing. With their enthusiasm around getting me the perfect item, I felt in great hands. The item I requested was there the next day hand-picked form their greenhouse. It was stunning and the price is incredible. Fran's Flowers is a hidden gem. No really, I had a hard time finding it but I'm going to spare you Yelpers the trouble. Go into the plaza with the supermarket (Stop n' Shop at the time of this posting). Drive to the left where the Building 19 used to be. Keep driving. All the way to the back. You'll see an outdoor area with fencing and flowers. That's Fran's. Now park and check it out! When I arrived, I was browsing around for plant food for my lazy Hibiscus - the darn thing decided to not bloom this summer. Fran appeared and offered to help. (And by offered, I really do mean he offered and was not about to force unsolicited advice on me. I found that to be a very respectful gesture and great customer service.) He went into detail about plant chemistry and made some suggestions for my plant problem. He was very helpful, friendly and seemed like he really knew his stuff. Fran's shop has hanging planters, annuals, perennials and a small selection of local fruits and vegetables. They also have a great stock of food and fertilizer, both organic and non-organic. I will certainly be back here before the end of the growing season. Update: Two weeks later, one of my two troublesome hibiscus plants has yellow blooms all over.
