They only have self checkout and the employees are just standing there watching you do what used to be their job, which seems a bit weird and inefficient, especially when it's more than one person watching you. I always have a great time at home depot! There's almost always somebody available to ask questions. Not only is staff very helpful, they usually walk me to the item I'm looking for. I'm consistently impressed and surprised at how knowledgeable the staff is. Often, if they don't know, they'll pull someone else in to find out, or will go ask and bring back an answer. The store is always clean. Even in the garden center. Even in the paint section. It's always clean everywhere. read more

I have been going here periodically for about three years. It's always hard to find anyone to help and employees seem like they are actively avoiding you. Today I was shopping for a window a/c that needed to be craned off a high shelf. After wandering the store looking for an employee I finally found 2 that seemed to be talking about an online order. After walking up to them and saying excuse me, they continued talking as if I wasnt there. After an uncomfortably long time waiting for them to finish their conversation I just asked them if we were just going to pretend I didn't exist. While the Watertown store is so much closer for me, it is chaotic in there and West Roxbury is often the same. Since I was in Natick anyhow, I stopped in on a weekday around 10am to get one of those mesh screen door things that you walk through (it actually works, not bad for $15). Masks and sanitizer at the front door for anyone who needs/wants it, and I wandered around looking for the item (for whatever reason, the aisle/bin number wasn't online). After I gave up wandering, I flagged down Bruno who found it for me (thanks Bruno!) and headed to the self checkout. Only negative to the in-store experience was the woman in charge of this area: having someone who is friendly would be a bonus. I can't imagine the parking lot on weekends, so go on a weekday if you can (or right when they open on Saturday and Sunday). The entrance/exit onto Speen St has a traffic light and the Route 30 exit is right-turn only (unless you want to just take a left anyhow). HD stores are dog-friendly as well!! read more

UPDATE: they came the 2 days later and broke my door, refused to hook up my dryer because the cord was different (I needed a 10ft cord and the first 2 guys that dropped them off told me to get any 3 plug dryer cord on Amazon) and now 2 days after they hooked up the washer I got a notification from the LG app that the dryer was hooked up improperly. I called them back, again, and the lady on the phone was extremely nice and said she would send someone different back out to fix it but not until next week. I won't be purchasing from Home Depot ever again... buyer beware I bought pretty expensive washer and dryer set for over $2200 and it was delivered this morning around 10am. They were unable to hook it up due to the shut off valve needing to be replaced. I asked him if he could bring them back later as the landlord said he would have it fixed by noon. Delivery guy said that wasn't an issue and to give this number a call and they will come right back out and install it for me. Well when I went to call I was told that they wouldn't come back today and they can only come 2 days later. Convenient that their return policy is 48 hours and they can come back until then? The first time I called the lady transferred me to the store. Not sure why she would do that. But she was rude and unhelpful. When I called back I asked for a supervisor which was also a joke because she couldn't care less about customer satisfaction or helping figure out a solution. They basically told me that all I could do is hope they work. I could have gone into work at 10am and not have accepted them but I was lied to. I've walked into this Home Depot twice (on two different occasions) and been greeted by Hector whose apron is painted with a happy grill. He offered to help me each time and I took him up on it! The first time, I presented him with my list and pictures of my home problems. Jill from Gardening was with him and she took notes on a paint swatch marking isle numbers by each item. The pair walked around with me and told me about the pros and cons of various items. For example, Hector opened a pair of gardening sheers and had me hold them in my hand followed by another pair. We joyfully got through most of my list and then they had to go on break; however, they pointed me toward my next section before taking their leave. Next, Adel and Jim helped me select lumber and cut it for me. Adel took notes and Jim followed them with his huge saw. Adel waited for me in the check-out line and then helped me get the large pieces of wood into my car. The second time I went to this Home Depot, I said "Hi" to Hector and then waited and waited by the huge saw for someone to help me (Hector doesn't work in lumber). Several employees walked past (including a guy named Brendan) without acknowledging me. Eventually, I called the store (the store I was in!) and told them that I'd been waiting at the saw and needed help. They sent Brendan back over and he cut my wood. I really appreciate these amazing experiences. There is a Home Depot super close to where I live but I didn't mind driving nearly an hour, each way, to have a positive experience at the Natick location. read more

My husband and I waited in line to buy a single watering can in the outdoor area for 10-15 minutes with both lanes open and only two customers ahead in each lane. Cashiers were incredibly slow ringing up customers. As we were about to be next to be rung up, one of the cashiers snapped at those of us remaining in line (who had been waiting quietly) "we're closed! You have to go inside!" We had to go all the way to the opposite side of the store to check out after waiting in line needlessly for 10-15 minutes. Maybe it was for the best as one of the two employees checking people out outside had his face mask barely hanging off of his face loosely covering only his mouth. The only reason anyone would go to this store over Lowe's is that they sometimes have better prices. Otherwise, it is absolutely not worth it to deal with the incompetence. read more

I was there today at Natick store. Natick is very far away for me from Lexington. But they have great vanities with stone like counter top all the time. The other store will tell me the store model is not for sale. Now I know why. The guy from plumbing department helped me to find a replacement for a missing mirror, took me to the manager for price adjustment , disassembled the vanity from the rack & the floor and helped to put it on my car. What a efficient service. All the people there I met today are super nice and friendly! read more

First time coming to this Home Depot. I stopped to pick up a countertop. Yes, it's 9:55 PM, I had a lot of other errands to deal with and now I'm here, checking out before close. Being told "no, nobody is going to help you load it into your car, we're almost closed" by the guy at self checkout on 10/1/22 is BS. You close at 10, I just spent $500, help me slide this 100lb slab of wood into the back of my vehicle parked right outside the door. It's basic customer service. I won't be back. No one had any idea what they were doing, I was there for hours, and the manager of the store was hitting on me and even held my hand! I was trying to buy a washer dryer and ended up leaving without one because no one could help or answer any of my questions. When I went to customer service, they were rude and no one was wearing a mask. An older women with white hair yelled at me when I asked for help. I was nearly in tears by the time I left. November 11, 2019 I have to express my deep disappointment in the Natick Home Depot. The rental department lists a cordless paint sprayer which after reading reviews I determined the ones that said it didn't suck; it would be perfect for the job I was trying to complete. Over the course of the next couple of weeks, I tried to call the rental department to ask their opinion and customer feedback of the product. A minimum of 6-10 initiated calls ranging from morning, midday, afternoon and weekends resulted in many 'their lines are all busy, try back in 10 minutes' or I would get put through to the phone ringing and nobody picking up. Alas the day arrives when I have time and weather to do the project so I check online and find it available on their website. So I trek to home depot, go to rental and inquire about the product. "It's out of service. To be honest it's a piece of crap." Well, at least I finally got the information I was seeking. read more

I parked in the pick up area and called for about 10 minutes to try to get my item brought out and finally gave up and went into the store. About 1/3 of the associates were not wearing masks. Masks protect other people, and wearing one is crucial to protect those around you. The manager says "this is America and it's not the law." I've been at this Home Depot location a bunch of times--I'm in the middle of renovating my condo. Never had any issues getting help when I needed it from employees. So, overall, pretty descent store. Tonight (less than 30 min ago), as I was returning a couple of things at the customer service desk, I overheard a customer talking to one of the employees in the nastiest way. The customer was returning something, and when the transaction was completed, he began asking the employee why he hadnt smiled, and whether he was even capable of smiling. Then he started telling him how he was going to get him fired because he was not giving him the customer service experience he was expecting. It was almost 8pm. The guy was probably exhausted. Wtf is wrong with people. I think the employee's name was Chris B. If anyone from HD management reads this, know that Chris was behaving very professionally, even as that a-hole of a customer was harassing him. Horrible Carpet install experience Install went fine no issues. Noticed a sound like plastic bags crunching underneath the carpet. Called HD and they contacted the installers. Installers agreed there was an issue and said we will get back to you. No one did so I called back to schedule appointment a week later. So AGAIN I had to clear off my carpet and wait for someone to call with the 2 hour window when they would arrive. Although annoying I understand things happen and it was what it was) Ok now 3rd time same issue! Again I was gonna have to wait till 8am day of appointment to get the call for the 2 hour window when they could arrive. I called back installers explained this is 3rd time can't this be looked at as a priority and give a set early , all things considered. So yes installers agreed that pad was defective and they were ready to do the work! Unfortunately nobody mentioned the work was gonna had right that moment and I had plans and a room full of furniture to clear!! So now I have rescheduled So I have to clear my room a 3RD TIME! Called to make a complaint about whole experience spoke with HD district Manager. Basically it's covered with warranty Yes Unfortunately I am still required to clear room packed with kids toys and furniture because that was not part of original contract. That's approximately 5-6 hours combined (not including original install) for 2 adults to clear and then put back and then clear and put back. What's my time worth?? read more

This literally is the first four stars I've ever given to any business. They have excellent choices, selections and prices. Summer's ending and winter's coming up, so I haven't been able to find perennials. Every nursery in the Ashland, Holliston seems to be out. When these nurseries do have the plants, they are the nonflowering perennials. So I had decided that I am going to forget about perennials, until next year and had completely given up hope. And then I come here today, they have towards the end of the store parking lot full of flowering perennials. Great plants, cheap prices for manure and other gardening things, but customer service is another story. We met a guy who worked here, asked him for help and he vanished. I've used the store for other services such as plumbing and electrical and can tell you this unequivocally, don't expect much out of their customer service. Best thing to do is get a list and some advice on what you want, before you come to the store. Otherwise you aren't going to get far. read more

Almost immediately, we encountered the nicest man with an Irish accent working there. He helped us find everything we needed. He truly went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. He helped us find the correct supplies and did not oversell us on items we didn't need. We are halfway through the paint job and it's looking amazing!!! We recently bought a place, so I've been to many Home Depots, many times [big sigh...]. We decided to drop by this location on the way to dinner, and it's by far one of the friendliest Home Depots in the Greater Boston area. I'm not sure why they have so many negative reviews! There was no line at the Customer Service desk, and the gentleman was very quick with my return and laughed when I explained, "I bought two in case I screwed up the first one." When I couldn't find the safety glasses, I spotted a floor person and they told me exactly which aisle to look in. And when I was standing at the Key Cutting station, an associate came over and asked "Do you need a key?" without me even having to look for one. Best Home Depot experience so far! Well I guess they must have been reading their reviews because I got FANTASTIC service when I went here! Granted I probably looked like a lost little girl in a gigantic maze so everyone that walked by me in an orange apron was quick to ask if I needed assistance. Between my tiny 4ft10 stature and the fact that I truly have NO CLUE where anything is in this gigantic mega-store the help was greatly appreciated! My boyfriend and I just moved into a house and needed quite a few miscellaneous items to spruce things up. My list was long and random and I had no clue where to even start when I walked in the sliding doors. I was greeted by a VERY nice and helpful gentleman at the door who had carts lined up for the taking and advice and directions for the lost like me. He pointed me in the right direction for a few of my items and told me to come back if I needed some additional assistance or just ask another friendly person in orange for help and they will point me in the right direction. There is one thing I have to say about this store...they are VERY well staffed. I don't think I went an aisle without seeing someone in orange who was either stocking a shelf or assisting a customer. Score 1 for the home team. I found the first few items on my list from the directions the gentleman at the door had given me and was just about to search out some more assistance and clearly had the deer in headlights look again when another nice gentleman walked up to me and asked if I needed some help. Well, why yes I do! He pointed me in the direction of my final list items and told me that unfortunately they did not carry two of the online items I was looking for. I was a bit disappointed in this because I knew a different location had listed the item in stock and thinking gee these places are GIGANTIC they must have similar stock I was surprised to find out that this was not the case. Score 1 for the visitor. As I was rounding up my final items the second gentleman who had assisted me found me on one of the aisles he had pointed me towards and made sure I was finding everything ok. That is true customer service! Score 1 for the home team. I chose to do the self checkout because honestly it is just easier and I like to just do it myself so I didn't have any wait at all. As I was leaving this very nice gentleman asked me if I would be interested in taking a survey on my experience on the store that day to be entered into their $5k drawing. Having the new house I thought why not, despite the fact that I NEVER do those types of things. The gentleman was VERY nice and the survey was actually not too long or painful. Score 1 for the home team. So if you are keeping score that means that Home Depot has 3 points and I have 1 for their lack of product. So all and all I was very impressed and feel strongly that they deserve the rating that I gave them. read more

I was surprised to check and see that HD had some roof rakes in stock - the app said "Limited Quantities". Usually it tells you the exact # of items in stock, so I found this unusual. I went in this morning and of course found that they had NONE. I then asked if they had any snow blower covers (which showed as being in stock) - nope, they said they didn't have any. The amazing thing was seeing that they had an empty pallet of ice melt -- really?!? I was so POd when I got to the car and checked for roof rakes at other HDs -- only to find no one had them (of course), so I hit the Chat button. The rep said "Limited Quantities" means they only have a few left. Really?!? Hope about telling the truth and saying you DON'T have any - instead of making customers drive to the store when it's 2 degrees out!!! Since I can get the exact quantity of any other HD product, I find this to be a tease and unacceptable. As a frequent customer I'm VERY disappointed Home Depot! read more

This must be the most poorly managed HD I've ever been in. Horrific lack of customer service, employees walk by you without a "can I help you?" when you're clearly looking for something. The paint department employees are particularly rude, leaving us customers to look at each other wondering what we did to get snapped at! Almost comical. Really, HD headquarters in Atlanta needs to spend some time here. I thought it was because I'm in Massachusetts where let's face it, people aren't as friendly as in Georgia but the Waltham location has nicer and more helpful employees. I get the best customer service at this Home Depot. I've had lovely experiences even when I've had very detailed questions, need wood cut to several different sizes or am looking for hard-to-find items. Prices can run from cheap to super expensive, but it's great to have so much choice available. Help at the registers is usually sparse, but doing returns is fast and easy. The website is also very helpful, telling you if you're item is in stock at any specific Depot and what aisle it would be in. read more

Having a hard time finding the right fit for an air purifier for my office desk. Bought 3 at other places-too loud, too big, one broken. So it's been frustrating. Have to return all of them. Decided to stop in to see what HD had. Found one that looked really good. Good brand, perfect size. One on display, kinda dirty with an open small box of trash on top. I found new ones below still bubble wrapped but I was happy to see them. Walked back up front, waited for help. A guy doing returns asked if he could help me. I told him my story and asked if any way I could plug that display in-just to hear how loud it was. I told him it was very messy and hanging on by a zip tie. Immediately I could tell, this was just too much for him. Normally there are outlets or some places have them plugged in. "Yeah, well, um, you can buy one, if it doesn't work, you can return it". I said I'd rather not. He said yeah, um it's a display, so yeah, um no we can't. I said you can't cut a little worn out zip tie, let me here the fan so I can know if it will work for me. "Yeah, um, no, we can't". Don't hurt yourself Buddy with that exemplary customer service. No "I'm sorry", no effort whatsoever for such a tiny request. Sad. Been in customer service my whole life. Waited a good long while for help also b/c he was busy just chatting with a customer who his co-worker was already helping. I guess the job description was "nothing too strenuous". Thanks Home Depot.
