We got food to go from here tonight and it was very underwhelming. We were excited to try the Gorgonzola gnocchi. The gnocchi itself had good flavor...there was just a very small amount of it. For $21 I expected more than a few bites. It did come with a small salad as well that was good. I've had fantastic gnocchi before in little Italy and I got a lot more if it for my money! Sevice was amazing and food was good! Had their Lasagna and chicken parmigiana, both dishes were well portioned and delicious. The atmosphere is noce but not out of this world fancy and certainly not a dive. Just a great place to go and enjoy your meal. The service was amazing, Brooke took great care of us and all the staff we encountered was friendly and helpful. We will certainly go back again. Reservations are recommended not a ton of tables but that is part of what makes the experience great. Overcrowding in a restaurant is a real turn off, you won't have that problem here. read more

First time here. Table of five. At one point, we were the only people there. Sat quickly, bread was A+. Various orders. I had the Chicken Piccata over mashed potatoes, which was an order change, but no extra cost. Potatoes great! Sauce great! But the chicken was quite dry. It also was not pounded out. It could have had some help with salt, pepper and garlic. Other guests had no complaints. But the consensus was, a couple points above average. Nice portions. Really nice setting, though, spotless modern. Very comfortable. Service could have been a little quicker. Alcohol had to be delivered by, I guess, by a 21yr old,leaving our server to find one for refills of wine, etc. read more

We enjoyed Fratellis restaurant. I got the steak and really enjoyed it. Which was awesome since most restaurants that don't specialize in steak don't know how to do it right. I also ended up getting dessert and thought it was not worth it. The cake seemed old and I didn't care for the flavor. Our server was really nice and did a great job. I would have loved breadsticks or a better roll, the spaghetti and meatballs were just ok, and unfortunately I couldn't finish the Tagliatelle. I saw that this restaurant had won lots of awards, so I was excited to give it a try. My wife and I stopped by on a Saturday around lunch time and had high hopes for a good meal. Immediately we could tell that they were short staffed-there was one person taking care of multiple tables, running around trying to take care of everyone. He made eye contact with us and let us know he'd be right there. I felt bad for the guy-he was working hard and struggling to keep up. It was understandable that the service was not amazing, seeing that the place was being run by essentially one person. The food came out pretty quickly, despite the fact that it took awhile to place our orders. The food was ok-certainly not noteworthy or anything that I would have thought should win awards. The spaghetti and meatballs were fine-plenty of sauce and meatball, surprisingly sparse on the noodles. The minestrone was flavorful but had no meat in it. Just noodles and veggies. There were a few menu items that looked good that we didn't try and we look forward to returning in the future to try a few more things out. As far as suburban casual Italian goes, this place pushes the envelope. Likely to the point that many people don't have a good basis of comparison which results in a shocking number of negative reviews with little substance. After multiple visits, the critiques are laughable to me, and I want to assure anyone perusing these reviews that Fratelli is absolutely where you want to eat your next meal. Genuinely home made dishes with no detail missed. The lunch sandwiches are substantial and well beyond any typical deli selection, offered at a reasonable price point. If this sandwich selection was offered to office workers in any dense metro area, it'd be a top tier lunch spot with rave reviews. Pasta and pizza delicious with markings of greatness and originality. I also want to highlight how efficient the takeout operation is. I usually loathe ordering takeout Italian, but Fratelli goes so far as to keep everything in a warming oven. And damn, we really wanted this dinner last night to make our socks roll up and down really fast...but, alas...it did not. This was our first visit even though we've been driving by this venue for years...and will likely be out last. Nothing here to write home about, except for maybe the service by Dounia. She did a fine job of taking care of us throughout our dinner and she should be commended. The ambiance was pretty sterile for a top-tier Italian eatery if you ask me. Buca de Beppo, The Old Spaghetti Factory, and even Guido's (a family fave pizza joint in Spring Hill, FL) have a better overall atmosphere than Fratelli. That, and the venue seemed to have three distinct zones...a nice dinner area with booths (make sure you call ahead for reservations as all the booths were taken or held for others when we arrived around 5:00 PM), a white subway tile "Deli" area that is very reminiscent of Market Street Grill, and the bar area where my wife and I ate. Odd, but OK...yet still rather 'cold' and not warm. Oh, and I hate wobbly tables (which the staff quickly fixed for us with a doubled-over napkin.) And then there was the food. The word "lackluster" comes to mind. My wife ordered the Halibut Piccatta but the fish wasn't delivered to the store that day. So, we both selected the Lasagna...her's with meatballs, and mine with so-called 'spicy' Italian Sausage. Meh. The lasagna was layer after layer of thin noodles with maybe some cheese between a few layers (the jury is still out on that), and zero meat. Zero. The only meat was in the meat sauce topping and the separate meatball/sausage. Hmmm. Oh, and the meatballs and sausage were both so 'dense' that they each almost reached critical mass! My Italian sausage had none of the usual seasonings that one would expect to find mixed in with the meat...like fennel...and it wasn't 'spicy' either. Both dinners were topped with pre-ground dry "pellet parmesan" cheese that looked like it had been sitting out for a few days. Very different to say the least. The best part of the meal was the salads...my wife enjoyed her Caesar salad while my house salad (with the Fratelli gorgonzola dressing) was very nice. We also enjoyed the bread that we dipped in the oil and vinegar provided in small bottles on the table. I enjoyed my tall Peroni draught too. So, there you go. I know we've had tastier Italian food from those other places mentioned above...and maybe even Stouffer's frozen lasagna (ouch.) That was what led us to our disappointment here with Fratelli. We expected a lot of flavor and a really unique meal, but we came up short. Or Fratelli came up short. And did I mention I hate wobbly tables? Two Stars overall for "Could have been (much) better" with four stars for service. Likely not coming back anytime soon...sorry Tim. O (NY, NY). read more

The service is the BEST... the entire staff appears to be vested in customers having a good experience at Fratelli... the restaurant being in the center of the building with a very good view of the center feels really good. This is actually a 4.5 star review. My husband and I tried Fratelli Ristorante for a weekend lunch after seeing positive reviews online. Our experience was great from start to finish. The restaurant felt spacious and modern but comfortable. It also seemed clean including the bathrooms. We were greeted right away and seated. We had Duonia (I hope I spelled that correctly) as our waitress, and she was friendly and knowledgeable. She also kept our drink glasses filled without any need to ask. We started with complimentary bread that was fluffy and tasty. For appetizer we had the Daily Bruschetta, which was traditional and fresh & flavorful. I opted for the pepperoni pizza but it was a tough choice because there were about 6 other things I wanted to try. I decided to try the pizza in the end because we are always trying to find good non-chain pizza in Utah. My husband got the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. We both opted for the side salad with house dressing. Verdicts: I liked the salad, my husband did not, we would both get it again but maybe with ranch for him. My pizza was excellent. Oh my goodness. Every element was great. My husband's response was, Not bad. That is his second highest form of food compliments. Unfortunately, he did not like his pasta. He said the pasta itself was good but he wasn't a fan of the sauce. Super personal preference so not a critique of the food. We will be coming back for the pizza and to try more things. read more

The antipasta had a nice variety of meat, cheese, olives, and peppers. The blueberry cheese was new one for me. I love how the sweetness complements the peppers and meat. The house dressing for the salad is one of my favorite dressings. The spaghetti and meatballs are flavorful with the sauce and cheese. Finally, the fresh brewed ice tea is perfect--nice and strong just like the tea gods intended tea to taste like. You don't get tea this good at most Utah restaurants. And the service--top notch. Been craving pasta and decided to give this place a try. Ordered the chicken piccata and it was actually pretty good. They make their own sausage and it goes very well with the spaghetti and meatballs. The bruschetta was tasty but was definitely missing the mozzarella as we have had other establishments. Ambiance is plain but clean, my only complaint being that the place was too cold. The daily soup, potato cheddar, was okay but lukewarm. The meals were brought out quickly which was a bonus since we were all starving. Our server Austin was exceptional, very attentive. There is nothing to rave about this place. The food is AVERAGE. I was not blown away, and would much rather spend my money on better Italian food. The night didn't start out good with very dry rolls. These things probably are made form frozen dough so nothing special, just average. The Tagliatelle Arrabiata is very spicey but DELICIOUS. The chicken Picatta has a very strong zingy wine taste. The tomato basil soup is good. All together, if you are looking for amazing Italian food, don't come here. If you are feeling like you want average Italian food, but don't want to pay top dollar than this place works. read more

I ventured in and the hostess was on the phone. I heard her let a to go order know that they were short staffed in the kitchen and that it was a longer wait that evening. They have a separate side that looked like it was for pizza and then a restaurant side. I was sat pretty quickly and you can tell they were getting ready to have a large party arrive so other tables were limited. Got there at a good time. She let me know about the shortage of kitchen staff and apologized in advance. I had the server come right up and get my drink order. I had to wait for my friend to arrive also. Right when she did, he came by to get her drink order and brought us some bread. I ordered the Carbonara and it come with a choice of soup or salad. I got the salad with a balsamic vinaigrette. That came out quickly. Then our mains. The carbonara was delicious. I didn't mind the peas as much as I hesitated about it. The pieces of crispy pancetta also made it very good. Finally was able to dine here this past Saturday for lunch. It was exactly what I was looking for & definitely hit the spot! Very friendly & attentive wait staff. Food was superb. Bread was piping hot & oh so soft. I judge all great Italian restaurants by their bread. Fratelli's absolutely delivered! Every dish we tried was so superb. I'm glad I had leftovers! I love the convenience of their location as it's only 5 minutes from my apartment. Will definitely be back again and again to try more entrees. Cute little restaurant. Independently owned which I love supporting. Everything was really clean inside. No wait time. Staff was pretty good. We did get the wrong wine, but didn't bring attention to it. Food was good. Noodles & gnocchi tasted homemade. I did think it was a little overpriced for what we got. I've wanted to try this restaurant for awhile and finally got the chance to. I like there are plenty of parking spaces. Interior is airy and spacious. The menu is quite extensive. One reasons I wanted to try this place bc of the fratelli pizza. Gnocchi caught my eyes. I ordered buratta salad, mussel n clams, calamari, gnocchi, bucatini carbonara, lasagna with sausage. Entrees you get a choice of pasta salad, salad or soup. Also rolls was served. It was good! The portion to price point is fair. I also had steak cheese and Muffaletta take out. Overall the food is great. It has characters and flavorful. Will be back Oh and the cake was pretty presentation. Cake batter has almond paste in with raspberry jelly on top. We went at 3 and got a whole room to ourselves. Our waitress was attentive and nice. My daughter said the strawberry lemonade was really good. The side Caesar salads were pretty good. Very cheesy. My kids got fetuccine alfredo and both loved it. My son said it was weird but good and I did have one bite and have to agree that it was weird haha. Some seasoning in it didn't quite fit but I didn't order it so no big deal! My carbonara was decent, hence the 4 stars. I liked that it was creamy and the noodles were fun plus I liked the way the bacon was cooked. It just wasn't as good as how expensive it was. I visited Fratelli's with a group of five for a Tuesday evening dinner. As far as I could see, there is only one main dining area which felt surprisingly bereft of customers throughout our entire meal. I ordered the Meatballs and Sausage appetizer which I enjoyed for the most part. The sausage was flavorful and had a pleasant kick of spiciness to it. The marinara sauce was equally as delicious, and I think I would have quite enjoyed any of the main dishes featuring their marinara. However, I found the meatballs to be a bit dry. I'm not sure if they were homemade or frozen, but they were a tad overcooked for my taste. My main dish was the chicken fettuccine Alfredo. The portion sizes are definitely on the larger end of the scale, but thankfully the Alfredo itself was Good. As some reviewers have pointed out, it's a little unique from what I'm used to as Alfredo but it had a fantastic flavor and was creamy without being too rich. The chicken in the dish was done well for my personal palate, although I suspect others might have considered what I had to be a little dry. I and the rest of my party were all too full to consider ordering dessert, which was unfortunate since several of the items on the dessert menu sounded intriguing. As much as we all ate, we still took a large amount of our food home. I felt a bit conflicted about having so much left over. Somehow, even though each of our dishes was essentially two meals in one, I still felt like the price was too high for what we received. Overall though, the service was stellar and I had no complaints about our server's attentiveness. Drinks were always refilled promptly and we never had to try and catch our server's eye. I left Fratelli's having enjoyed my dinner but not feeling a sense of desire to return and explore the menu further. I think all the components of what could be a truly phenomenal Italian restaurant are there, but there were too many tiny missteps in the details of our experience for me to rave about the food. There may be an element of quantity over quality in play to some degree. I think enthusiasts of any style of Italian food will find something to enjoy here, though. read more

I am a pretty good cook but I was tired...Their sauce was a sauce but it wasn't alfredo...it was so strange...didn't even taste remotely like Alfredo...it was this light brownish tan color. with no distinct flavor. kind of like gravy on fettuccine noodles Making Alfredo sauce is Making a roux, Heavy cream or half-and-half Parmesan cheese garlic, salt and pepper. I was highly disappointed. I had shrimp in mine, which was good, and Amelia had chicken, which was good. I did order an additional pizza and that was good. These rolls they give you for bread are kind of a joke. I definitely won't go eat there again read more
