Loved the bruschetta pomadora. Loved the vodka sauce pasta - chicken was a little tough. Loved the spaghetti bolognese. Pizza was good, crust was great, lots of cheese. Needed more sauce. And had a desert from the Buono bakery brought into the restaurant - the cake portion was fresh out the oven, with ice cream. Restaurant was slightly uncomfortably warm but it was a very hot day. Delicious Italian food. The baked goods are PHENOMENAL. They served the best tres de leches I have ever had. The pastas were very good and the antipastas. Staff were very sweet and they can accommodate large groups. Would love to come back and try more. read more

Buono is a lovely restaurant to go to for decent reasonably priced italian food. I went with my family and we had a wide range of the menu. We started with the portobello bruschetta appetizer which was tasty and the minestrone soup which was delicious! For entres I had the beef cartoccio which was also lovely. My family ordered the shrimp and chicken Alfredo's which were solid and the Stradella pizza. If you come here I would recommend going for their pastas over their pizza. The atmosphere and service were delightful. Overall if you want a "low key" Italian spot this is worth your time to give it a shot. read more

Love this new little hidden Italian place. The food experience is what I picture when you go to your little Italian grandma's house for dinner. Everything was fresh and felt like it was prepared with care. The French onion soup was hot and tasty. It was hard to just choose One bruschetta, the Caesar salad was fresh and crisp with tasty little bacon bits in it, and the Pomodoro vodka sauce was pretty good but a tad sweet for my liking. If you're looking for truly authentic Italian food, this place is a hidden gem. The ambience isn't anything fancy--definitely more casual than cozy--but don't let that fool you. The service was warm and welcoming, and the food? Incredible The carbonara was creamy and full of flavor--no weird shortcuts, just legit good pasta. The prosciutto blue cheese pizza had amazing flavor. But the real winner? The bruschetta with melty mozzarella, pesto and tomatoes. Well, I've been wanting to try this place for a while. Saw the reviews and finally was able to get there. Unfortunately, it was 30 minutes before they close and the girl working there, when there was no one there was like, Oh, we close in 20 minutes. So we decided to order to go. Sitting there, I'm just kind of shocked, This girl had an opportunity to make double with us, sitting down and in stead made us feel super uncomfortable. She gave us half of our order and then when we got in the car , we of course , had to rush back to get the rest of it. The food was mediocre at best. The Bolognese was weirdly sweet. The chicken on the Alfredo was way overcooked. I tried to eat it immediately as we got into the car. It was scolding hot, to just see how mushy the pasta was and overcook to the chicken was. This place is fantastic and I really hope it thrives. They have only been open for a month and you can tell this is a family venture of love for their food and culture. Excellent food and service. Our kids loved their pasta and pizza. The Chicken Cartoccio was so tasty. The Foccacia was great. They don't have a liquor license yet or any fountain drinks but that will come and is a small thing not to have. There aren't many tasty Italian restaurants in Utah, so this was a welcome find! We were served by the owner which was neat. Prices were very fair and the atmosphere was nice. We also went to their bakery next door after and the treats are great. read more

I was anxious to come here after reading the reviews. I've come to the conclusion that there are a lot of people out there without, shall we say, sophisticated palettes that understand what authentic fresh Italian cuisine is supposed to taste like. I'm a confessed foodie. And while I can understand everyone has different taste buds and likes and dislikes, there's no denying what fresh is versus canned or powdered or thawed frozen fair. In fairness we came at the very end of the night for dinner. I'll say the service was exceptional. Incredibly attentive and super friendly. It's a small sit down place with cheap chairs, tables and menus. So I was hoping they put their dollars into the chef and the ingredients. It started with sweet tea and then they brought out complimentary focaccia bread pieces with oil and vinegar. The bread was incredibly stale. It was oddly sticky when chewing it. I was so hung up on the dry yet sticky texture I couldn't tell you if the flavor was decent or not. I had one bite and stopped. We ordered the French onion soup and the pasta with bolognese and the rigatoni with vodka sauce. The pasta was just ok. Clearly not made from scratch. The sauces were also made from canned products and the soup was also. When a restaurant is using canned and/or powdered items to make their soups it doesn't speak well for the flavor or texture. The broth was like brown gravy. Everything was on the sweet side. The soup and both pasta sauces. And I can see why some people would enjoy the flavor. Many of us cook at home with canned items and it's fine. But if I'm going out to eat and paying money for something I can't or am not willing to make at home I truly hope that I get to experience something special that comes from a chef that knows to use fresh ingredients and knows how to put flavor profiles together and understands that texture is a big deal. On a bright note the sweet tea was special. It was unusual and had a citrus element to it. Very very tasty. Highly recommend. The prices were also excellent for portion sizes. If you like this kind of fair it's a good value. I won't be back though. There's too many other great places to try that I'd rather spend my money on hoping to get that wonderful experience of eating something that is special and nourishes the soul. read more

Food was ok. Our server did not understand our simple order. We ordered lemon with our tea. And we got lime. We told her lemon again and said it was yellow. And our tea was not tea that was brewed. It was Lipton ice tea that came in a can that you purchase back in the day. The very sweet kind. Our food was not the best. It was so so. We ordered spaghetti and it was the sauce that came from a can. And the bolognese was very salty. My husband did enjoy his food though. He ordered the fettuccine Alfredo. Meh flavor. Place is super loud and echoey. I can see it for a quick bite but was not super impressed. Pet peeve: if you start by asking for drinks and I say "just water", that does not mean I want a $1.50 bottle of water. If that is all you have, say "we only have bottled water" (which is super weird for this lever of dining in Utah). Rest of beverages were canned sodas, also kind of weird. read more

Food was good, but portions were small. Drinks are canned or bottled, including water, so they can get expensive. The owner was our server and took good care of us, but we were only one of two parties in the restaurant. There were a lot of crumbs on the table, chairs, and benches. read more

Everything was delicious. Pizza crust had the perfect crunch. Desserts amazing. Just wish we could have had wine with dinner.
