We ate at Oak Wood Fire Pizza Kitchen last night and had a mixed experience. The hostess seated us right away, and the food itself was absolutely delicious once we got it. Unfortunately, it took over an hour for our food to arrive. To their credit, they gave us a complimentary dessert because of the wait, which we appreciated. What left a bad impression, though, was that within about a minute of us setting our forks down, the hostess came over to tell us they had a reservation for our table in 5 minutes. After such a long wait for our meal, it felt very rushed at the end and made the experience less enjoyable overall. read more

Clean, fun, great energy, and even the waiting area is a vibe. And then the service. Lindsay was hands down one of the best servers I have ever had. Attentive without hovering, helpful, genuinely kind, and just made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. Water and Diet Coke were never empty which says everything. Now the food... every single thing hit. Burrata was fresh and perfect. Brussels sprouts were unreal. Kale and beets salad with steak was so good and balanced. And the prosciutto and arugula pizza... obsessed. Crispy, flavorful, just done right. This is one of those places where you order a few things and then immediately start planning what you are getting next time because EVERYTHING is good. Cute restaurant inside. Most of the waitresses and staff seemed great and energetic but ours was not. Very blunt and low energy. Not helpful at all. The meatballs were good and the bread they serve it with is fun. It's almost like a pita baked with their pizza dough. Brussel sprouts tasted like frozen steamed brussel sprouts chopped into bits with a smear of mayo. My pizza was drowning in grease also and had about 4x too much cheese. The place is pretty cool, ideal for a date or group of friends. I recommend to make a reservation if going on a weekend for dinner. We had to wait a little bit for the food, so go with patience. I didn't care because me and my friend wanted to catch up and weren't in a rush. We got the ricotta meatballs as an appetizer, I think this is a MUST, I'd probably get it every time. For main we got the oak burger which is a brisket burger!!!! Perfectly cooked, loved the bacon and the bread. And the fries were also really good. First off, all other pictures have outdated menus with old prices which are way less than what they actually are. This place is great and the food is delicious. Server was super friendly but the understaffed restaurant had us waiting multiple times for the check, to put in our order, etc. but not her fault. The food is delicious but our oak bread was pretty undercooked so it was doughy and we didn't finish it. Got a refund without hesitation from the server. But still... The crème brûlée French toast was lackluster with other pics showing lots of cream and there was a little drizzle along with very little syrup which they do for you and it wasn't much. My egg bake was fine and the bread was good but that's about it. Nothing to write home about. All in all, the food is good, but had I known these were the prices I would've probably gone elsewhere and at the end of the day, not worth it. This is probably my last time all things considered. My husband, daughter and I went here for dinner. No wait when we got there which was nice. They only have about 15 tables inside and a couple outside. It took a minute for our server to greet us and get us waters. Then it took her a minute to come back to us and get our orders. The food took a while, but it was fine. I ordered the margarita pizza to share with my husband and it was cooked perfectly, but I also forgot how dull the flavor is for me on this flavor of pizza, so that's my own fault. My absolute favorite was the street corn dip. That was our favorite! My husband got steak bites with sweet potatoes fry's and he said the steak was melting in his mouth it was so good! My daughter got their kids spaghetti and I was disappointed it didn't come with anything else like normal kids meals, but the different thick noodles were fun for her. Once we got our food it took forever for our waiter to come back. Overall we probably wouldn't go back unless it was for the street corn dip. The inside is hip and happening with a clean and exciting vibe. The colors are inviting yet subtle; it's a place to instantly settle in a relax. Our waitress Alexis arrived quickly and took our drink order and offered some requested recommendations. Boy are we glad we took her advice and ordered the goat cheese flatbread appetizer that was one of the best things we've ever put in our mouth!!! We also dined on a wedge salad with chicken and a burger with a mimosa and cokes to wash it all down. The entire family loved this place. We found it online looking for a nearby place that had something on the menu for our particular eaters. We enjoyed a wood-fired pepperoni pizza as an appetizer which didn't disappoint. Other items we enjoyed included the bolognese pasta, chicken pot pie and the salmon with seasonal vegetables. Our favorite though, were the churros for dessert. The wait staff was pleasant and helpful and service was timely. There was a 1 hour wait on Sunday at 12:30pm, so I'd recommend calling in or making a reservation! It was very busy. Once we got seated the food took about 15 minutes. A few of our dishes came slightly warmer than room temperature, which surprised me. I personally would've liked it more hot, but the taste was still great. I tried the goat cheese dish (listed under pizza), the waffle and chicken and the south side pizza. The waffle was just alright, but the chicken tasted great! You can't go to OWFK without ordering the Oak Bread. It is probably the greatest thing on the menu. (Besides the pizza, of course.) We enjoyed our Oak Bread with the Ricotta Meatballs and it did not disappoint. We also ordered the Steak & Gorgonzola Salad and the Oak Burger with House Fries. The salad was a surprise favorite! I really only get inspired to write reviews when I really love something. This restaurant had been at the top of my list for years and I used to get the bolognese pasta which had big thick homemade pasta noodles. Unfortunately, they've stopped making it with the homemade noodles. The sauce is still great and $22.00 I could somewhat justify since the noodles were homemade but the price is still the same. Bring back the homemade noodles or lower the price. They've also changed the lemon salad dressing. It used to be light and extra tangy but now it's thick and doesn't have that great fresh and strong lemon flavor that it used to. This has become a staple of where I bring any person visiting me in Utah! And my family has high expectations when it comes to food, flavor, and for me, ambiance. This place has it all. Coming from the east coast we weren't sure if Utah could measure up especially with pizza but we are grateful this place does. The hot honey pepperoni pizza is chef's kiss and those lemon grass wings are crispy and flavorful. We just recently tried their "sexy fries" with the garlic confit and I think we still dream about it after the fact. And their mock-alada brought us back to an island! Couldn't ask for me, honestly. It tasted like it just sat on a shelf in the freezer for a month, you know that weird taste that just clings to meet if it's been in the freezer.
