Ok, let's just come out and say it: I got lost. I was trying to find the Frank Frazzetta Museum and the Yelp gps brought me here. I only had an hour to spare, so this time, my museum visit was a big fat bust. (Thanks a lot Yelp). However, to be fair this was a very cool costume shop. They had a plethora of costumes and ghostly accessors to make your most ardent haunting desires come true. The also have some pretty radical props and creature statues that are definitely worth a look, but the best part about the shop was the customer service. The two girls behind the counter seemed almost as bummed as I was that I was going to miss the museum. They helped me with directions for next time and even took my picture in front of some giant snowman. This place was so cool that I think I return to visit the museum in a few months I will return and buy a few more Frazzetta coasters. read more

This place has become a joke. Demanding customers pay a $10 admission fee to enter a STORE just to look for something they may or may not buy, or that the store may or may not have, is just obscene. And they aren't even nice about it. The hot chick at the front says that the admission fee is applied to your purchase, but if you don't buy anything, you just gave them $10 for nothing. On top of that, everything in that store is super overpriced, despite Mr. Frazetta claiming on his website video that his products are better and prices are lower than other shops (like Spirit or Party City). That's simply false. For example: Frazettas has a Captain America child costume for $55. I went to Party City instead and got that same exact suit for my son for $30, plus another costume for another child, and the total for two costumes was less than one at Frazettas. And I only went here and Party City, because Walmart was out of the size costumes we needed (same brands, by the way), otherwise it would have cost even less for the costumes at Walmart or even Target. While they do have some nicer adult costumes (and spicy ladies outfits) available, nothing they offer at this store makes the ridiculous $10 admission fee worth paying, even if it's applied to your overpriced purchase here. That's right, nothing. For $10 admission, the chick at the front should be wearing as little as possible. Just order stuff online and let this place fade away into oblivion. read more

We were in the area and BF wanted to go in since he's a huge fan. I honestly had no idea who they are. But we were immediately welcomed and asked if we've been here before. I looked around, BF talked to owner. Lots of great items and unique finds. Definitely for anyone looking for specific costumes. BF purchased some items and again spent some time talking to owner who was very nice. Prices were very good and if we are back in the area, we'd probably go back. read more

Went into this store for the first time and was absolutely floored! Not only does it have every costume imaginable but if you have no idea what you want to choose for a costume, you will be flooded with ideas. The owner is great and took his time explaining everything to us. I felt that the $10 admission was odd at first but when I knew that it would be taken off of my purchase, I had no problem paying it. If you are seriously looking for a winning costume for a party or event, you are definitely going to win by getting anything out of this store! You can thank me later! read more

I am an easily scared person, so this place was simply horrifying to me. Lots of props for pure horror and costumes you won't find at the spirit store! This place fueled my nightmares with it's Lifesize Chucky dolls and "realistic" masks. read more

My experience in Frazetta's Costumes was not a great retail costumer service experience. New York Comic Con is next week. The cosplay outfit that I ordered online will not arrive in time for my planned attendance on Thursday and Friday. I was off today and in town to care for a family issue. Therefore, I entered Frazetta's Costumes with the intention of purchasing a costume. When my son and I entered the establishment this afternoon, two ladies were standing near the entrance. I was excited and said 'hello'. The ladies looked, but did not respond. We went in the back and saw other staff. We were not offered a greeting, assistance, or guidance. My 23 year old son ( an illustrator) noticed a bad 'vibe' quickly, especially since there were very few costumers in the store. We spent about 15-20 minutes in the store. At one point, my son and I picked out a quality cosplay outfit of a Marvel character. As I walked around for the accessory to the costume, we passed and literally stood in front of another staff member, who seemed occupied with hanging items in the middle of the store . After not finding the item on my own, a staff male staff member finally spoke, asking my son if we were ready to 'check out'. At that point, I put the item down and exited the store! Yes, we could have been more proactive with staff. However, we also have other options for purchasing cosplay. My son and I vividly recall a very enthusiastic experience at another store when I purchased another Marvel character cosplay. In addition, I have met a young, female family member of Frazetta at a display table at NYCC years ago. Based on that interaction, I expected a different approach from staff here. Finally, as a mother and son of Color (Afro/Caribbean/Latina - with Locs), we really wondered if our race had an impact on our reception in the store! I would have likely purchased the outfit for $139.00 if we had a different experience in Frazetta's. The online order was more costly. However, Frazetta's appeared to have no interest in me or my money. I hope that this will be a teachable moment for all. read more

Stopped in the shop today with my daughter, blown away by the exceptional customer service I received by Jeff! I went into this store because I absolutely ADORE Halloween. I come from the city and I've never felt so profiled. All of the attendees kept coming to us as we were trying on masks asking us to put them back when we were done when we were just trying on & putting aside the ones we wanted to buy. They kept hovering over us as if we were going to steal it was absolutely ridiculous!!! I would never come into this store. They have zero customer service skills! Even in the back were the masks are they lady with the tattoo was cold and not friendly. Would not recommend if you are person of color and don't want to be harassed by people while you shop. read more

My Husband and I drove up to this store at least four times. And out of four times they were only open once. The last time and this will be our last time we drove up the weekend before Christmas and like the other three times they were not open. (The store will now close for the winter season) The sign on the store said closed for floor repair, really? And added to it something like you can pick up your orders call ahead for pick up. First of all there Facebook page is NEVER up to date, open or closed or otherwise. They do not have a website to order from so what are people picking up? At our one time visit the store has so many unique items, The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The owner on the other hand was a bit creepy and really had a poor attitude when I questioned why he was not keeping up with his Facebook page or posting the store hours correctly. After four times sadly we will not be back. I will take my business somewhere else. Order on line if I have to if I need anything. Spirit Halloween my favorite store and they donate to children's Charities so I know my money is put towards something good. read more
