We signed up for a package of 5 classes to prepare for our first dance at our wedding after hearing about their company at a wedding expo. Paul was our instructor and he was so helpful in creating a choreographed routine for our song and preparing us for the big day. He recommended classes 1-2x per week leading up to our wedding which was a good schedule. With lots of practice in between lessons we were able to keep up with the learning and it was a big success! Paul was really great in assessing our dance capabilities (as neither of us have a background in dance), and creating a routine that was suited to our level. I appreciated the time he took with each of us to make sure we had our steps down. He was very kind and flexible as were all the staff at the studio. We even stopped by to practice on the hardwood floors when we didn't have a lesson scheduled and they were kind enough to let us play our music overhead on the speakers. This is a great studio for anyone learning a wedding dance or looking for dance lessons in general. When we have some more time we are thinking of going back for Jiving lessons!

I was super impressed at how well she was able to teach him and how willing she was to tweak things around for us. We had a total of 6 lessons and although pretty pricey it was absolutely worth it. We went at my pace and she was so patient and nice. The process was even... dare I say FUN?! I loved dancing and my husband and I had a great time with Kay. Everyone was impressed with our dance!! We may even keep taking lessons for fun... it would be nice to learn different dances to be able to dance at different functions. Dancing isn't so scary now... I think I actually like it!

My complaints/review is to the studio itself as King rents out floor space to other instructors, such as Scott. The ceiling really needs to be finished. It creates so much extra echo in the rooms because the sound bounces off all the exposed rebar. Additionally, the speakers need to be repositioned to give whole-room sound, instead of only hearing sound when you are under a speaker. Positives for this place are the wonderful hardwood surface to dance on and the awesome in-wall iPod docking stations.

All I would get back is a vague text message. I drove all the way from league city because I really wanted my daughter to try salsa class. Thinking to my self well, I can just register her when we get there. I get there, and they tell me she needs a mask, but they wouldn't provide her with one .. if it's a requirement, then they should provide it . The guy at the front desk was rude and would even suggest where I could get a mask to purchase one. Nothing seems to me like they didn't want to work.

They have two rooms, which most times are used for both salsa and bachata. Different organizations use soundbox for their socials and fund raisers and the music usually depends on who the DJ is. Then this is the place for you. I do have to forewarn you however. Are you thin skinned? Do you take criticism badly? Are you passive? If you are then this might not be the place for you. Damon really does a great job of coaching and occasionally that requires some strong feedback...its there to make you better. If you can't stand the heat you should probably stay out of the kitchen. The reward far outweighs any tension of not getting it right - you will get it with enough reps and openness to coaching by one of the best. Aside from being the guy that asks women to dance to being the guy that women are fighting to dance it spills over into the other areas of your life. If your serious about learning to dance this is the place. You're welcome.
