Giving a review solely based on a bad experience. We bought a popcorn maker from them. When we opened it at home, we found that it was a returned item. The kettle and the measuring spoon were greasy and the kettle actually had leftover popcorns in it! I called the store and talked to 3 people (first a lady, then a manager, and another lady) and none of them sounded apologetic or surprised. It was much more like "sure you can bring it back in and we'll exchange it for you" than "i am sorry" (though the third person said 'it was a mistake'). I am a bit surprised by this. So, does this happen so often they're used to it.. or what? read more

I like to think of Freddie's as an upscale target. Actually they're better then that. This is the best feed Meyers in Beaverton I believe. I pick up a bunch of tools for work here as well as occasionally stopping by the electronics to browse. My one pet peeve with this location is the check out stand near the garden department. I cannot stand the people who go all the way over there with their chalk full shopping cart with food. Use the regular checkouts! The far check stand is for smaller 1-5 item purchases. I once had to wait fifteen minutes while a lady fondled through her coupons for her brim filled cart. Come on. Use the right checkout. read more

Everyone here is always friendly and upbeat and just plain nice! My son and I love shopping here the cashiers are always nice the stockers are really helpful when you need help. It's not like some stores where you can't find anyone to help, seems like someone is always right there and willing to help. It's always clean and organized. read more

The pick up service stinks. We try it once in a while when our schedule is very packed, and it always disappoints. This time was worse than normal. We asked for meat with a use by date of Friday, instead it was for Thursday, which means either we throw it out, or freeze and defrost which wastes a huge amount of our time. One of our eggs was cracked and the container looked smashed. We asked for Como bread and we got a "Artisan Sourdough" that had chunks of something in it, sold to us on its last day it could be. They forgot the grapes we ordered, and the ground chicken, and they switched the ground meat brand with another brand. All in all their pick up service feels like it is used to sell stuff they couldn't sell in the store. Extremely stressful for our family because instead of saving us time we will have to find a way to go to a store to get what we need, which just wastes our time. read more

I stopped by today for a few groceries and odds and ends. Somehow, I lost my credit card while shopping and pretty much had a panic attack in the produce section. Eventually, I made it to the customer service counter where I found Chad. I cannot say enough nice things about Chad. He was so patient with me while I continued to freak out about losing my credit card. He calmly asked my where I was and then gave me a chair and went to go look for my missing card. After a few minutes he returned with my card and told me where I dropped it. He even offered to collect the rest of the items on my list so I could sit and rest! That's great service! read more

Have always been a long time customer of fred Meyer. Recently I have been visiting this fred Meyer for my coffee needs. The coffee grinder has been disabled for 3 months and I nary find a worker nearby to help me. I am a man 300+ lbs so mobility is not a strong point. PLEASE FIX THIS COFFEE GRINDER! Twenty years ago, I would never have thought to shop Fred Meyer due to his extreme high costs. It was around 1998, it seemed he was shooting for the upper mainstream folks with big money. Kroger came in and presently the prices are comparable to any other market. You may want to follow his ads but you now can save a buck or two by shopping at Freddies!! Yesterday while I shopped for some groceries, some rude person decided to scratch the entire driver side of my car. I went in to see if there are cameras so I could see if it was done by a car or an inconsiderate jerk walking by. It appears to have been the work of a jerk. However, the manager Chad Higgins went above and beyond in my opinion. Knowing there isn't anything they can do I was leaving with his sincere apology. But he walked back and said he felt really bad and asked if he could make it right and take me back in and buy me the stuff to repair the damage. And he did just that. Thank you Chad Higgins. This is the messiest store I have ever known. They can't get similar products placed together. And every freaking time a new manager comes in they feel obliged and entitled to reorganize the store. Never mind the customers who then have to find their stuff again, in this mess, or give up and spend their dollars elsewhere. The only good thing about it is that the cashier lines are short. Buyers beware. They do not stand behind their products. I purchased a top-of-the-line $50.00+ Addidas school backpack for my son and the zipper was defective. The zipper broke within 60 days of use. I attempted to exchange the backpack and they no longer carried it and would not give me a store credit. I was told you cannot return past 30 days. Buyers beware! read more

One of my favorite places in Portland!! It's like a Target/Walmart on steroids. They have EVERYTHING here. Food, furniture, clothing, make up, chase bank, and a child's play area. Conveniently located near my cousins apt, they have a large parking lot and have several other stores in the same shopping center. The people are also super friendly (like everyone else in Oregon) and I enjoyed the small talk. I could happily spend several hours here! read more

Over the past 4 months, (as some Yelpers may have read since I write about it all the time) I've been dealing with one of the things I worried about when I considered the reality of growing old...the broken hip. I was sure it would be the thing that would change my life. It sure did, and because Fred Meyers makes allowances for we Grand Dames with broken hips they supply motorized scooter/baskets at all 3 entrances. The scooter has made the difference between my being able to do my own shopping and having to write a list for someone else to pick up..which never works for me because half of what I buy is impulse shopping. Freddys has everything-so I can pretty much get whatever I need, so long as I don't expect upscale brands of shoes or clothing. I appreciate that Freddys employees will walk beside me as I motor in the cart and pick those bottles on the top shelf, haul the 5 pounds of potatoes and the heavy laundry soap bottle and the 24 pack of beer. Then they pack it up at the check stand and haul it out to the car, put it in the car and take the basket and scooter back to the store. Freddys-it may not be the Nordstroms of stores ....more like the JCPenneys....but when you are recovering from an injury, the store that supplies a free scooter/basket + someone to walk with you..for free-it just gets my vote for the 5 star store. read more

This definitely is a one-stop shop for everyone. This location is smaller than others, so they don't have all the department you might find elsewhere. There is a Fred Meyer gas station if you are looking to use your reward points to get a fuel discount. I decided to stop in here because I had a grocery list containing a variety of items. I didn't find the type of gluten-free bread I was looking for (they carry it at other locations), so that was kind of a bummer. But found some good looking produce on sale. Another great find was some biodegradable plant pots for a great price! They're made of bamboo and last for up to three years and won't just end up as more bulk in a landfill. Normally I wouldn't have been so price conscious on a pot, but I needed ten of them for replanting some starts at home. read more

This is a really big store. I've been 3 times now and still haven't seen all of it. We have picked up a lot of grocerys here so far. I think they have a great variety but the prices are higher then I would like. They have lime sherbert though and that makes my husband happy. read more

Wow. Friend was shopping at this store on Walker Rd a couple of weeks ago and had an unusual experience in the deli Dept. After placing their order and requesting changes, The server proceeded to throw their food in the container. My friend was displeased at their actions and stated they no longer wanted the order and requested a manager which the clerk replied their is no manager. My friend proceeded to a worker nearby who contacted the manager who arrived shortly thereafter. All was well. Later when my friend arrived home they wanted to follow up with a manager at a higher level--- to their dismay, a response from the manager that stated 'maybe the employee was having a bad day' was unacceptable. Unfortunately we all have bad days but its never an excuse to treat your customers with disrespect. I would hate to enter an establishment and be under attack because employees are having a bad day. Not a good excuse. Maybe Send them home for the day and hopefully they'll feel better the next. read more

Come here Sunday morning for the best selection and deals - we saved over $300 on our sofa and love seat. The various departments take pride in stocking their produce/meats/etc and as a customer it is much appreciated. FM is a great store, this one is very big and it about the size of a wal-mart with out all the whiskey tango that usually frequent the wall. I like everything about this store but the employees. I have shopped at FM for a long time and I can easily say after shopping here about 20 times they have the worst customer service I have ever seen. Not sure what it is with this store but they are as un friendly as a FM team member comes they really need to step up their game that is one thing that always made FM a place to go, the level of service you would get. read more

This is my favorite Fred Meyers to shop at. It has that nice warm cozy feel to it that other Fred Meyers doesn't have. The Fred Meyers off 217 comes close to it. The products is kind of pricey, but cheaper than most other stores. There is always constant people shopping through this store which I love. I'm always running into people I know here. read more

Don't leave your children at playland at this location! They allow a woman to watch them who has no business interacting with adults let alone children. She paged me back to playland and I find my son crying hysterically and when I questioned her she said he was eating crayons (he is barely 2) so I took them away. Now, I have taken things away and you get the usual tantrum. This was not that. She then accused me of leaving him there over an hr when in fact she wrote down the wrong time. When I showed her proof she called me a liar. I took my son who was crying hard enough he couldn't catch his breath and went to the front to find a mgr. The mgr i spoke with did not offer even an apology, barely showed an interest but said he would speak to this woman. I don't know what happened but my son does not act like that for no reason. She wasn't nice to me and I would imagine she wasn't nice to him either. I WILL NEVER GO BACK read more

This may be an odd reason for a review, but I am so grateful to Fred Meyer for having motorized shopping carts for the disabled available! I've got a foot fracture and hobbling around a huge store on crutches seemed insurmountable...then I saw the motorized carts right inside the entrance! There were clear instructions to explain how to use it safely, and it was super easy. I also appreciate how wide the store aisles are, making the experience worry free turning corners and passing people.
