Eventually he said ok and we went out to the pump. Meanwhile my girlfriend had given up and moved to another pump. So I tried to use that one. It said see cashier. I guess that's reasonable since it was the third dip I'd done at the station and my card company was probably suspicious. The cashier had disappeared so I went back in again. Now there was a long line. A new cashier was working. Then the cashier I talked to came back in and I told him what happened. He said I'd have to pay inside. I said but now there's a long line. So he went to a second register and I thought he was going to let me pay since I'd be having quite the gauntlet here. But no - he said next in line. I gave up in disgust.

A gentleman named Gary answered the phone, and told me there was one spot left that I could park at. I was only 2.3 miles away so I booked it on over. I got parked, went in and paid my fee. This guy was so jovial, well mannered, and accommodating, if there was more Gary's in the world, it would be so much better. Not just for the way he accommodated me, but some woman came in and asked to use the restroom. He told her "well the restroom are only for customers, but I guess I can give you a key, but if you pee on the floor, it will be the last time!" It was nice for him to be able to joke with a total stranger, and for her to be receptive to it and laugh at it. His customer service skills are spot on. The place is under construction, so their hours are only 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. around 5:00 I went back in there to ask if I could purchase a shower, and good ole Gary pulled through again! He walks around happy, whistling, and just a great attitude. It's not the best part of town, but the amenities are perfect, and for what it was, it was also absolutely perfect. I'll keep this place in mind next time I'm in that area, but if you ever end up in that area, stop in and at least say hi! Thank you guys for everything you did for me that night!!!!
