At the checkout, I was asked for a personal identification to verify my age. I had no problem with that despite thinking that any intelligent and observant person would have no problem wondering why this old guy with a cane was not in Assisted Living. What surprised me was the cashier scanning my DOL driver's license, as if it were a grocery item. When I asked why the license was being scanned, I was told "That is what Corporation wants us to do." On Black Friday this year 2021 my mother-in-law went to Fred Meyer and purchased TCL 43"iTV with Roku today is Sunday and we have tried every day with Comcast to set up her service with that particular TV. To no avail. Tried returning TV to Fred Meyer in Lacey, WA to exchange for a better make & model and unable to do so.According to their policy there is no refund on televisions or anything electronic. I have called corporate customer service spoke to an assistant and a supervisor and they cannot offer any solutions. So I'm writing this to let everyone know that be careful when purchasing any electronics via Fred Meyer if you should need a refund. Read their policy! Good gravy. We went to check out at Fredy Meyer today and the cashier was helping her last customer before her replacement started her shift. Noticed the incoming cashier had her mask below her nose. But I really noticed when she pulled it completely down and proceeded to wipe her nose and face with her entire hand (like children do), pulled the mask back up and made no move to wash or sanitize. She took over and started reaching for my groceries--still no clean hands--and I told her to stop. Asked her to go wash her hands. She replied "Now?" Uh, yes. She said "I can't just leave. What do you expect me to do?" (Combative now). Informed her that I was leaving hee checkout like but she still needed to wash her hands. Got all my food off the conveyor belt and went to another line. Talked to Manager who was completely useless and equally combative. Was told "We're the ones here 8-10 hours a day helping people." Didn't bother letting him know what I do for a living (involves PPE and 18 hour shifts). Because who cares? Your job and how you conduct yourself is your responsibility; don't make it mine. Fred Meyer just charged me $70 for flu shot. I just thought price might have gone up due to covid. But my friend just got flu shot from Costco and they only charged them $20!! Same shots, same exact thing. I went back to Fred Meyer to complain, but they just told me that is what they charge. If I would have known, I would have just went to Costco in the first place. I have shopped here for years but I have never depended on them until the COVID-19 stay at home order came in to effect. I'm in my mid 60s so I'm hi risk for the virus. I can order my groceries on my phone or computer. The app could be easier but I do manage to get most of what I want. I have to plan because when I order the groceries I can get a curbside pickup time for about 4 or 5 days most of the time. I don't know what I would do without this service. Many stores say they have early hours for seniors but when I went to one of those they let everyone in of any age and the store was very busy with people not wearing mask. I shop Freddies everywhere I travel. Never have I had an unpleasant experience. Tonight I had a very unprofessional cashier at this particular Fred Meyers location. 'Noah' (I believe his name was) did not interact or even make eye contact us with us while checking out, he slammed our toilet paper as well as a few other items into our cart with a very dry and rude demeanor. He even refused my exact coin payment as if we were below his standard to interact with. I personally have been in customer service for over 15 years and never have I had the audacity to treat a customer in such manner. I understand he is young, probably new to the job force but I feel he needs to learn some major customer service skills. No matter who your customers are or how you view them, you must treat clientele with the utmost respect. I will always shop Freddies, but I would most likely avoid this cashier's line any time I shopped this location again. read more

I work in a home with special needs adults. One of my clients shops at Fred Meyer often. It is near his home and he can easily take public transportation to get there. One day a couple of weeks ago, my client bought a blue tooth speaker to work with his phone. He brought home to charge the speaker but, it wouldn't charge. Unfortunately, he had thrown the receipt and the packaging away. He called the store the next day to ask for an exchange. They told him that they couldn't help him. He told me about it and he was really bummed out for wasting what little money he gets every week. I called the store and spoke to a manager named Kim. Great great service from a friendly staff! These people really did me a solid. One time I bought one of those Sterilite cabinets with the drawers and got it out to the parking lot only to find that my Ford Focus didn't have an opening wide enough to allow the cabinet in. My car looked big enough to hold it, but the doors open only so much, the trunk was the same story, etc... Anyway, I went back inside with it all defeated and said I had to return it because I couldn't get it home. At that point the manager, the nice guy with the grey hair and mustache, walked up and asked what was going on. When I told him, he volunteered to take it in his truck and drive it to my house when he got off at midnight. This guy took time out of his own day, time he wasn't getting paid for, to bring me my oversized purchase. How awesome is that? Plus the staff have always been friendly on my many visits since then and are actually still really accommodating during the re-model they have going on now, which I know must be stressful for them. I also really appreciate that you can mute the voice on the self-check machines, since I hate computers trying to tell me what to do. read more

I have been coming to this Fred Meyer for the past 2 years. I just genuinely liked it better than most others but after this morning I'm not coming back. I know things are super busy and crazy with a pandemic and a lockdown but this morning they had everyone doing self check out. Which normally would not it be an issue but seeing that we are a week out from Thanksgiving and it is a Saturday morning people are doing large grocery shopping trips. There are people with carts full including myself who had to check everything out themselves. And we all know self-checkout spaces are super tiny. We had to place things on the floor. Wait for the attendant to pay attention to what was going on to get help. People were tripping over food. It was a nightmare. I tried to talk to the attendant but she was smug and rude. I got my food, navigated the hell hole that was self checkout and am vowing never to return. This place is going down hill. read more

When I was little my mom used to always bring me to fred meyer or "freddies" as everyone calls it and I have fond memories of munching on some chocolate chip cookies while riding in the shopping carts. Sadly we moved many years ago and switched to the local Safeway store which is decent, but it doesn't have the amount of variety Fred Meyer has. This place has a huge wine/spirits section, a large outdoor garden center, an electronics center, clothing, fresh seafood and meat, TONS AND TONS OF OLIVES, numerous organic foods you can't find anywhere else in the area (except maybe top foods), and much more. Sadly this store also reminds me of death. My poor little giraffe stuffed animal jumped out of our shopping cart when I was little and it was never to be seen again. Every month, this pharmacy screws up my refill requests, and showers me with condescending explanations every step of the way. This time, they lost one of my paper prescriptions, but when they finally found it, I did not get any apology for their mistake--or for calling me a liar when I said they had it, or for telling me that I'm the "only customer with problems every month." The only reason I have problems every month is that they screw up every month; I literally have to make them read every prescription they will be refilling, and ask for the date that each one will be filled, otherwise they "forget" or lose my "refill requests." read more

By far my favorite grocery store to go to! Grew up with Kroger brand stores in Kansas (Dillon's) and they have always been reasonably priced. I love the huge organic and gluten free selection that is offered, along with the large produce and deli section. Don't forget to get your rewards card! Earn points for gas price reduction, along with double-point specials. Can load in store coupons to your card (they have a great app for your smartphone), which doesn't affect using your manufacture's coupons! Definitely check out your local store. read more

My husband and I come here weekly for groceries because we are fred meyer fans over winco, Walmart or Safeway. But we have pretty bad customer service almost every time we go through the check out. Today was what pushed me to finally do a review. Kim was extremely rude during our checkout. I can tell it "inconvenienced" her to bag our groceries because it was quite a bit but she slammed down the grocery divider after we told her we were going to need bags. We then moved our cart next to the counter so she could just set the bags down and we could put them in the cart and she grabbed our cart and jerked it toward her and slammed the seat part forward. Didn't speak to us the entire time. I don't know why we seem to get the 3 most cranky people that work there but my gosh, it's Christmas time. Change your attitude. Her name was Kim. I work close to This Fred Meyer so I go there a lot. I went to the deli and Nancy, an older lady was just rude. There was a long line and I get it was just her and a new girl but that doesn't mean you can be rude . She was talking to the man in front of me in line, and after he finished buying everything he was leaving but then asked for a bag so she happily gave him one. I'm next in line, she finishes ringing up my stuff and I ask her for a bag and she said "ok I'm going to charge you" I had no problem paying for it but she rolled her eyes and pretty much tossed my receipt. I was pleasantly surprised by a visit to this Fred Meyer. The store itself is very large and incredibly clean, and I lost count of the number of friendly employees who asked if they could help me find something. I really liked the layout of the store and loved how wide the aisles are. I didn't have trouble finding anything that I was after. I also really appreciate the bulk bin section for many of my foods. The prices of most things also seemed very competitive - much cheaper than Albertson's, more expensive than Wal-Mart/Winco, but on par with or maybe slightly better than Safeway. And while I didn't need any non-grocery items, it's nice to know that all of that is available. I would definitely return here. read more

I'm a Fred Meyer convert since moving to the PacNW. This FM location is well maintained and the staff are all pleasant and do their jobs well. The biggest downfall for this location is that the parking lot is a MAJOR clusterf***. The store is very busy and the volume makes this spread out parking lot a headache unless you are there at 7am. The registers on the far side of the store can either be a breeze to get through or your worst nightmare. The last time I checked out on that side of the building the lines were long and slow moving. With no self check lanes to be found.... Fred Meyer really needs to consider opening more stores on the east side of town to take the load off of this location so the parking lot is not such a mess. read more

I usually shop at Fred Meyer for groceries, but I do occasionally shop here for clothes. JUNIOR DEPARTMENT I have been shopping at Fred Meyer for clothes for over 13 years. This was one of the few places I could find pants in my size. Some of the pants come in short sizes, which saves me from having to get them hemmed. The Junior's department has a nice selection of dresses. Normally the prices are a tad expensive, but become reasonable during sales. I have bought several nice summer dresses here. There are also nice sweaters available. LADIES I have an okay time finding work-friendly clothes in the front area, near the electronics department. There are quite a few dockers, below-the-knee skirts, blouses, sweaters, and dresses that are my size. This is also across the way from the jewelry aisle (not to be confused with Fred Meyer Jewelers). The jewelry aisle sells clip-on earrings. I love this because I am allergic to most jewelry and clip-on earrings don't give me problems. BABIES and CHILDREN The selection of baby clothes is small and I only shop here during sales. Many more cute styles for girls than boys, which tends to be the norm. Not a great selection for the under 3-month category, but an okay selection for older babies and young toddlers. Fred Meyer is an okay place to get large packages of kid socks and underwear. We all know kids lose socks and it's worth buying 2 bulk packages of socks at a time. There is a much better selection for older children. Fred Meyer carries skinny style jeans. The button-up shirts tend to last a long time. There are also very cute dresses available for special occasions. I always get dresses during sales. The brands here last quite a while and have gone through at least 3 different girls while still looking new. SOCKS and UNDERWEAR The selection of men's socks and underwear is okay. They sell boxer briefs and large packages of white socks. I don't buy women's underwear here. I have a terrible time finding my size. Unless I am looking in the wrong place, I can't seem to find 36 D's. TALL MEN'S SIZES There are Talls available in Carhart's but not in the other men's/teen's sections. My husband has a difficult time finding pants here that fit in length. He can find some occasionally, but it takes a bit of looking. SHOES The shoe section is decent. There are many options for ladies' sizes and kid's sizes. They sell men's 12's in hiking boots and sometimes sneakers/walking shoes. Not a lot available for 'nicer' work shoes. If you are a ladies' size 4, 5, or 6 there are quite a few options. If you are a very small ladies' size, you will be able to find adult-friendly styles in the kid's section. I have gotten quite a few nice low-heels in the kid's shoe department. The quality of the kid's shoes here is usually quite good. My kid is hard on shoes, but sneakers purchased here tend to outlast four kids while still looking nice. Fred Meyer also sells Saltwater Sandals, which are great for the summer. BEDDING This is an okay place for comforters and warm, fuzzy blankets. This may not be the store for you if your washing machine is hard on fabrics, is an older model, or if it's a washing machine at an assisted-living facility. My grandmother bought all of her sheets and bedding here prior to moving into an assisted living facility. The rough washer and high-heat ruined her sheets. We ended up buying her replacements and washing them at home. Fred Meyer is a good place to buy bedding for children or college students. THE KID'S AREA "Freddie's Playland" Your child must be at least 2 years old to be in Playland. The attendants do not take the children to the bathroom or change diapers. If your child needs to go to the restroom, the attendant will page you so you can take the child. No food is allowed in Playland. The attendants in Freddie's Playland do a good job monitoring children while parents are out shopping. Kids get to play with peers and watch movies. It's a friendly environment and my daughter always made sure I put her in Playland before we went shopping so she could play with the other kids. Children graduate from Freddie's Playland when they enter Kindergarten. GROCERIES Fred Meyer is an all right place for groceries. This isn't the #1 grocery store I shop at for food, but it's still nice. Everything is easy to find. The fruits and vegetables are quite fresh and are rarely bruised. There is a decent selection of organic and whole foods. The store brand foods taste fine. If you receive WIC benefits, Fred Meyer honors WIC checks. TOILETRIES/ Other Nice selection of shampoo and soap for people with sensitive skin. Bars of soap are available in large multi-packs. There seem to be large sizes of everything. Overall, nice selection. Lotion, Epsom salts, toothpaste, cold medicine, etc is very easy to find. I appreciate that the family planning items aren't locked away like they are at some stores. Fred Meyer also sells Jobst support hose! read more

Use to be a great store but keeps going downhill the more it becomes like Korger and less like Fred Meyer. The good: Nearly all the employees I have dealt with are nice and courteous. The bad: They have many great paper and digital coupons and sales on the items I use but many times are out of stock for days and at other Fred Meyers. This issue has become worse over the last few months. It use to be one or two items out of stock now it will be 3 or 4. Every Friday they have a digital coupon for a free item. On the last two they never had stock in the two different stores I frequent. A few months back they may run out but would restock at some point before the free coupon expired. Now they don't stock them at all. On one of my trips there were no carts at all and the store wasn't even that busy. They had employees standing around, not sure why they couldn't get one of them to retrieve some carts. If it wasn't for the employees and how close the store is to my house I would go elsewhere. I reduced my shopping at Walmart because they had to many empty shelves. Walmart has vastly improved in this area since they must compete with Amazon now. So now I'm shifting back to Walmart as Fred Meyer goes downhill. If you don't use coupons and don't care about sale items being out of stock Fred Meyer might work for you. read more

Went to the Fred Meyers again yesterday only to find the same problem with the staff. The majority of the workers (cashiers, floor clerks, managers, etc) in every department must have missed the Stay Safe memo stating to wear gloves, wear masks and keep a distance of at least 6 feet. I honestly didnt even see anyone cleaning. One worker in fruits and vegetables was walking around restocking items with no gloves or mast ans appeared to be under the weather.. another one no mask no gloves was actually sniffing up mucus in his nose and using his are as a tissue...yuk!!!! I asked for help to find the gluten free section from across the aisle and the unmasked clerk started walking to8ward me!!!! As I backed up she kept heading toward me!! There is no spraying of carts or spraying of customer hands like costco..trader joes..food coop and many more! T checkout I actually had to ask the cashier to please stay behind her sneeze guard to sneeze as she checked us out!! I'm so disappointed at how sloppy and disrespectful Fred Meyers is being toward the health of their shoppers. They totally ignore the guidelines our Governor has set forth. Terrible!!!! read more

Recently, my elderly father called his doctor for a prescription renewal for a critical medication. The doctor approved the request and sent it to Fred Meyer Pharmacy. After three days, he called the pharmacy to see if it was ready and was informed they had not received the order. I took over at this point and was told to call the doctor again. Again, I was told it had been sent. Meanwhile, my father was almost out of pills. The pharmacy gave him a three day emergency supply of pills. After the weekend, he was running short on pills again. I called the pharmacy. Again, I was instructed to call the doctor. Again, the doctor said it had been sent a week prior. The pharmacy gave my dad another three day supply and again, said they don't have the order. I called the doctor once more. He then sent the order in for a second time along with a prescription for heart medicine. I went to the pharmacy again to find the heart medicine there but not the one we had been waiting for. The pharmacy still claiming the order wasn't there. They gave me a five day emergency supply this time and, finally, admitted that they were out of it! Why didn't they say that in the beginning?! I feel like I have been lied to. This is not how I want to do business. read more

The store is managed by a store director (an assistant director if they are a management training store). Each department is run by a manager, an assistant manager, and often a third or a fourth manager, depending upon the size of the department. In addition to the management staff, persons-in-charge (PIC) are non-management supervisors who assume management duties and responsibilities for the duration of a shift, but are otherwise level with co-workers. I'm a big fan of Fred Meyer and shop at them a lot. This store is as good as the others. This review will pertain to whether or not you can get your RV in the parking lot. You could, if you were desperate, get your RV in here. But, it's a little dicey as you would have to "weasle" a lot. The configuration of the parking lot doesn't leave much room for RV's to weasle in. You might get by with parking a block away at another place and walking over. I came here in a car. read more
