Two days in a row at a place I don't particularly care for is a bit nerve wracking. The service itself ( like the perfectly orchestrated visitation yesterday ) was likewise executed to perfection! Each staff member of this place knew their part by heart and it was amazing. A truly gifted pastor named Reverend Tommy Wright delivered the main message. Another lay person also gave an uplifting speech and provided Holy Scripture as his reference. Blakely Funeral Home performed beyond excellent! Of course I highly recommend them in your time of need.

Everything was orchestrated perfectly from the visitation, to the service to the graveside ceremony and military send-off. I've sadly attended a number of funerals but this ceremony was, by far, the most memorable and flawlessly executed. I purchased some stone memorials in their remembrance from this business. I found the owner to be a kind and compassionate person willing to listen me. He had a well diversified selection to choose from. Just completely beautiful pieces ( if there is such a thing like this) inscribed to my directions. It was nice to do business with someone who was patient and not just after a quick sale. In your time of need; I recommend this place.

This is the final resting place for the founder of Gaffney, S.C. Michael Gaffney and his immediate…read morefamily. This is a lovely spot to remember the man who started this city. A lot of the inscriptions on the headstones are badly worn and difficult to read. There's a couple of benches on site to relax on and contemplate things. Not many people visit here but occasionally a few do. Michael Gaffney was born in Ireland in 1775 and died here September 6, 1854. He was 78 years old at the time of his demise.

It's somewhat of a rarity around here. A Confederate solider who survived the war and came home to continue his life. At various cemeteries I've seen a lot of Confederate soldiers killed in action! A surprisingly large number in fact. This final resting place is in immaculate condition and is a nice tribute to those whose final resting place is here.
