The room has a few tables and couches with tables for a more relaxed environment. Given the weather was perfect for a fall evening, we sat outside in a patio area. There are a few cocktail options (mocktails, too!) and small bites to nibble one. We shared the burger (Royale with Cheese) and hot dog (Beefy Cheesy)... both were juicy and had great flavor. We're also had the octopus, though it was a bit tough as it had seemingly been overcooked. Overall, the bites were great and I like that we could have cocktails in a relaxed environment. The tasting room had a small gift shop of sorts at the entrance, where they sell the bourbon they use in cocktails and other liquor.

The bed was very tall but oh so comfy :) The mints were a really nice touch too. The robes in the bathroom were warm and thick. The shower pressure was awesome but the tub took forever to fill and you had to leave it pretty much on full stream hot to get a warm enough bath. The only real complaints I have are breakfast. I wasn't able to have coffee in the morning because they didn't have any non dairy milk despite the fact that I told them well in advance I needed vegan options. Not a huge deal just would have been nice to have coffee with breakfast. The only other problem was hubby and I had to nuke up our breakfasts since they cooled off on the trip over from the other house. Everything was delicious though. Betsy couldn't have been sweeter, she hung out and talked to us before we left. She gave a cool tour of the house and told us some of the history too. Truly magical experience overall. 4.8 stars

The menu created by the chef was outstanding. We chose to do heavy hors d'oeuvres instead of a formal sit-down dinner, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we made. This is a private get-away in “rural” Woodford, located just 15 minutes from Old Town Fredericksburg, that provides a vacation adventure--yet it includes all modern amenities, i.e., icemaker, Keurig Coffee machine, etc. A fun treehouse provides entertainment and climbing exercise for children. The Cabin is furnished comfortably with quality beds/linens, Americana, antiques and historical objects. WIFI and Direct TV (with Sports Package) are available in both bedrooms. We booked the Garden Inn because it came in $50 cheaper. For one night it was okay. Not the lap of luxury, but okay. As others reported, it's a little shabby but clean. The air conditioner was somewhat loud, but on the bright side it muffled noise from the highway. You get a $10 credit per person for breakfast if you're a rewards member. In other Garden Inns the credit covers a limited buffet (bagels, oatmeal, fruit -- things like that.). The buffet here is $20. Nope! Doing a side-by-side comparison I'd choose the Hampton Inn. But $50 is $50 and if I save more than a couple of dollars I'd stay here again.

Confusion at check-in, hydration at checkout…read more We checked into the Hilton Garden Inn expecting a reliable, stress-free stay, especially given our Hilton status ...but instead spent the trip untangling mistakes that never should've happened. Our reservation was messed up from the start, the front desk couldn't get the details straight, and we were even charged incidentals twice, which meant more calls and post follow-up than any hotel stay should require. Because of the reservation errors, we also didn't receive the complimentary breakfast that was included in our booking ....disappointing, and frankly, not what we expect from Hilton... status or not. On the plus side? They made absolutely sure we were hydrated. We were offered bottled water. Repeatedly. Constantly. Relentlessly. Maybe we looked stressed... or maybe just very, very thirsty The hotel itself is clean and comfortable, but the operational hiccups overshadowed everything else. Hilton can...and should do better, especially for loyal guests. Bottom line: friendly staff, but billing errors and reservation confusion made this stay more work than rest. Double-check your folio... and don't count on breakfast. The water, though? They've got endless supply.

The guest house is on the second floor. The building is a converted 1898 store front. It has three rooms that are nicely decorated with vintage furniture. If you are a rail fan, this is your place. More than 40 trains, both freight and passenger pass each day. However, the bed rooms are in the rear of the building and the passage of the trains did not wake us up at night. Kids are welcome and will like the game room with a foosball table and plenty of room to run around. Sharon, the owner, is a very nice person who pointed out where to eat and get a beer, all within walking distance. We were there for a college Lacrosse game and found this location to be a good value, neat and clean and ideally located.

It gets the job done for being a hotel and that's about all I can give it. Beware the parking experience is a little strange as it doesn't have a visitor lot and has to be valet so if you have a car be warned. The rooms are nothing fantastic, they feel very early 2000s which isn't bad but isn't great either. I feel the bathroom could use a remodel because the sink drains were clogged, and the bathroom felt very outdated. The room was spacious though with two queen beds, a chair and very cold A/C. It also had a nice tv in the room too. Beds also felt very comfortable which is nice for a hotel. I definitely would consider this hotel again now that my expectations are a little lower on what to expect. The hotel bar was always dead without anyone around, but the lobby in it of itself was very spacious and accommodating. I also really enjoyed how many things that were walkable around downtown Fredericksburg from the hotel. A ton of breweries, the river front, and restaurants were all within a mile to walk which made it a breeze. It's a very small town with not a lot going on during the week but it did the job.

These are pretty good the first time, but after the third day I was kind of over it. Also, it cost extra to add scrambled eggs. Main complaint was that there were few gluten free options for me for breakfast. I would rather stay in an Air BnB.
