I highly recommend this auction house to anyone either looking for quality antiques or just wanting to check out an auction. Every item you see in the accompanying pictures was up for sale! Very old knives, swords, firearms (pistols, muskets, rifles from pre Civil War upward), armor, helmets, furniture, oriental rugs, paintings & prints by famous artisans (i.e. Dali & Rembrandt), Roseville pottery, Pairpoint Victorian brides bowls, glasswares, silver, 18th & 19th century clocks, Coca-Cola​ memorabelia (clocks & lights), fine jewelry, etc. were on the auction block. The majority of them came from two northern estates. Most offerings were primitives (16th century - 19th century... created prior to mass production) & most of those were from the 19th century. The beautiful property alone (acres of grassland) is worth a visit! Be sure to arrive earlier in the day of auction night to check out what will be auctioned at 6 PM; the place is open all day on so you can browse & jot down lot numbers. Register by 5 PM because bidders start early marking their chairs w/ makeshift scraps of paper. A program guide (aka a list of items being auctioned w/ their descriptions) will cost you $3. The downers: the auction room is NOT AIR-CONDITIONED. The fans aren't sufficient & they were turned on just 30 min prior to the start of the auction. (To keep temps down, though, there was a truck on the property selling ice cream & cold drinks:) Staff was also not as friendly as it should have been (they were rather disappointing); they also provided NO info on auction procedures, which would have been very helpful to this auction newbie. (Thankfully 2 friendly & experienced couples answered all of my questions.) This is a very good place to visit if you are in the market for QUALITY antiques. There is NO JUNK here. But you're forewarned: serious antique store owners occupy many of the rows on the auction floor, serious buyers are phoning in bids & bidding online during the live auction, the prices can go very high, & the auction can last 6+ hours. Checkout was fast & easy. There's a 15% Buyer's Premium (BP) charge on every item won; this covers administrative costs. You can grab a staffer (high school-aged kids) & s/he will assist w/ taking your purchases to your vehicle. Once you attend an auction at Turkey Creek, you'll be placed on the mailing list to get a heads up on the next auction date. If you've yet to participate in an auction, this particular one is WELL WORTH your patronage. He was slightly abusive to the customers and played games. When he started one item at $ 75 and it went up to about $100, said 'sold' and discovered someone had placed a proxy bid on it. and bought a partial lot. He reopened the bid for the remainder and someone bid $90, he then started the bid at $ 100, and then said 'passed' and went to the next. He clearly heard the bidder, I was right there. He also passed an item I was bidding on, yelled 'too late' as i raised my hand. I saw him pass on many items that bidders were interested in. He would start out bids at what he wanted, and quickly shout 'passed' . There is something wrong here, this is not really a standard auction but more like a retail store with an arrogant manager. I'll probably not be back. Crowds have been much lighter since Robert passed. This is no longer an 'auction house'

There were only 2 people ahead of me in line and not one of us was helped for over 2.5 hours. There were 4 employees operating loaders, one was not working and 3 were helping one customer. Multiple complaints by those in line went unheeded. Took over 3 hours to get loaded. Would not recommend them except for a large purchase that you expect to save a LOT of money on.

It leaks diesel, the manifolds are busted , and the front end needs to be replaced and the 4x4 did not work. An independent mechanic confirmed the repairs would be over 5k! Yesterday Yoder and Frey refused to refund or exchange the vehicle. They did offer to resell it for me at the next auction which is unconscionable in my opinion.

Action 9 investigates estate sale hustle…read more June 22, 2015 at 3:27 pm EDT ORLANDO, Fla. -- Five months after Action 9 first exposed estate sale agent Silas Pierce, another customer claims Pierce betrayed his trust. This time, the victim is a priest. "You can't take somebody's stuff and sell it and pocket all the proceeds," said the Rev. David Subu. Subu claims Pierce and Estate Sale Stars sold his mother's possessions then refused to send the family's proceeds check for nearly $4,000. Subu grew alarmed after finding the Action9 investigation online. Action 9's Todd Ulrich confronted Pierce last year at an estate sale. "At a bad time in their lives, they say you cashed in," said Ulrich. Pierce denied he had done anything wrong while escorting Ulrich out of the home. "If only I had done that search beforehand and I had seen your show," said Subu. Last month, Pierce filed for bankruptcy protection and listed customers who claim he sold their belongings then kept the cash. That includes Christopher Kroha who recently won a court judgement for $100,000. Ulrich spoke with Kroha's attorney, Christopher Nasseh. "Mr. Pierce essentially took everything. My client didn't see a penny from that sale," Nasseh said. There are now at least a dozen consumers from four states and Britain who want Silas Pierce to pay. Pierce filed Chapter 13, so he could have to pay some of the money back, but the court could give him several years to do it. He told the court, he's shut down the company and is nearly broke. One creditor claimed Pierce was hiding assets in other companies, something Pierce denied. "Bankruptcy is for people to get a fresh start, but we don't believe you can rob someone and get a fresh start. That's not the point of bankruptcy," said Nasseh. Pierce didn't respond to Ulrich's questions. Earlier he said customers can become emotional and confused during estate sales. There's another bankruptcy hearing next month. WFTV
