I don't want to hear other people's children "playing" or whatever it is they do that's so loud. I don't want to vie for space on the sand bar. I don't want to hear other people's music, or see them dancing. You get the point, I'm not into the social scene that can be typical of Michigan lakes. You might be saying "why don't you get your own lake then you anti social jerk?". Well, that's basically what Orchard Lake is. It's amazing. There is literally like, no one on this lake 99% of the time. If you're lucky enough to be able to boat during the weekdays, you can often be the ONLY person on the water. You could totally lay out nude and no one would even be around to see you. The busy weekends don't really seem busy, and I have yet to feel crowded or annoyed. It's silent, peacful, serene and relaxing. Perfect. This is a VERY clean lake, and I believe it's the second or third largest in Oakland County. The water is clear and sparkling in most areas except for the very deepest parts. There is only seaweed in a few spots but these are not the chill areas and are easy to avoid. I love the variety of wildlife that can be seen on this lake including egrets, swallows, hawks, ducks, swans and lots of cute little fish that seem happy to hang out by the humans. The sandbar is spotless, probaly due to the "no drinking" poloicy that we, of course, follow to a T. LOL. The no drinking policy is most likely what keeps this lake fairly empty, and it works for me.

A friend is a member of this marina, and hosted a get-together there yesterday…read more It has a small beach and the water is very nice. There were also grills so we were able to grill hot dogs, burgers, and veggie burgers. Tons of picnic tables as well and even a few shady places to sit, to escape the sun. Her family usually keeps their boat there, I believe, and you have to be a member of the marina to get the gate access code, although the gate was open when we arrived. Super nice place and hopefully I'll be back at some point this summer.

But while Chris was out of the office, Uncle Dave was reportedly causing offenses at a record pace. Still, Chris assured me that this would never happen again, that he'd be my only point of contact, that he'd provide his mobile number, and a substantial accommodation to keep me as a customer. All of this so I'd remove my first review, posted last month. I did. Then, naturally, everything Chris promised, never happened. Now a month later, and I haven't even been able to get Chris back on the phone. It gets worse. All of the service items that were supposedly the reason for my repeatedly canceled and delayed delivery appointments -- those likewise never happened. Not a single one of them. They charged me (in fact, they overcharged me by $150), but did absolutely NONE of the work that they promised me was completed before my boat was finally returned. When I was sold this 2024 Tahoe new last year, it was somehow missing a battery. I had to travel to Grand Rapids to pick up a replacement battery. Over the winter, they said that battery was installed; it was not. They said the stereo amp was fixed; it was not. They said the ladder was fixed; it was not. They said the boat was gassed up; it was not. They said it was detailed; it was not. They said the oil was changed; at this point, how could anyone reasonably believe that was done either? It gets worse. Not only was the boat not serviced but, incredibly, it was returned damaged. Whether in storage or on delivery, they bent the front door and front door latch and returned the bimini in pieces. You think they're finally taking care of things like professionals? Naah, I still can't get Chris Anderson or his service department on the phone. I purchased this boat to enjoy a leisurely family experience. With thanks to Anderson, it's been anything but.

I would under no circumstances recommend Anderson Boat Sales for service work. I brought in my…read moresmall pontoon boat because the still under warranty 25hp outboard was leaking fuel into the water. Anderson said that they fixed it by replacing some gaskets and sent the boat home with me. The day I put it back in the water I noticed fuel in the water again. I went to the store and spoke with service. They said that there was probably still fuel that was working through the system and that it would go away. I used the boat very little that summer and finally took the boat back in because it did not go away. At that time it was past its warranty period. Anderson said that they fixed what Mercury prescribed and that if it got miss diagnosed that it was their fault and that they should be responsible. Eight months later neither Mercury or Anderson did the right thing and owned the mistake and I picked up the broken boat from them this morning. The service manager Jacques Phillippe was involved. I copied Dale Anderson and Chris Anderson on the notes. They never reached out to me. I chased all of them for the 8 months. My next step is going directly to Mercury. I doubt they even know that Anderson was throwing them under the bus to me. Avoid this company at all costs.

Then every time we tried to take a group out on it, it was extremely difficult to start. Even the woman who showed us how to start it had problems and then showed us the "trick" on how to start it. The boat had duck tape all over it, cob webs and the prop even had pieces knocked out everywhere! We finally called them and asked them to come and pick it up because it was more trouble than it was worth. When the owner came to pick it up and my husband asked if we could possibly get a partial refund since we weren't able to use it much and turned it in early, he replied rudely "if you had listened to how to start it then you wouldn't have had any problems!" He even had some trouble starting it and when he did he had to immediately put it in gear and it jumped forward. Not the way you should have to start a boat. We own a boat and had several people who own boats or have owned them and no one could believe the problems we had and how he had to start it. As he was driving away he reached down and handed me my cash deposit and practically ran over me. I said we'll be sure and tell everyone not to rent from you and he replied everyone loves this boat - I don't see how they possibly could! Now I know why their name is Last Resort Marina, even if they were the "last resort" I would NEVER rent from them again!!!
