My boat was finally returned the following week. But it gets worse. GM Chris Anderson called me. He apologized profusely for his infamously obnoxious uncle, who is "not permitted to talk to customers". But while Chris was out of the office, Uncle Dave was reportedly causing offenses at a record pace. Still, Chris assured me that this would never happen again, that he'd be my only point of contact, that he'd provide his mobile number, and a substantial accommodation to keep me as a customer. All of this so I'd remove my first review, posted last month. I did. Then, naturally, everything Chris promised, never happened. Now a month later, and I haven't even been able to get Chris back on the phone. It gets worse. All of the service items that were supposedly the reason for my repeatedly canceled and delayed delivery appointments -- those likewise never happened. Not a single one of them. They charged me (in fact, they overcharged me by $150), but did absolutely NONE of the work that they promised me was completed before my boat was finally returned. When I was sold this 2024 Tahoe new last year, it was somehow missing a battery. I had to travel to Grand Rapids to pick up a replacement battery. Over the winter, they said that battery was installed; it was not. They said the stereo amp was fixed; it was not. They said the ladder was fixed; it was not. They said the boat was gassed up; it was not. They said it was detailed; it was not. They said the oil was changed; at this point, how could anyone reasonably believe that was done either? It gets worse. Not only was the boat not serviced but, incredibly, it was returned damaged. Whether in storage or on delivery, they bent the front door and front door latch and returned the bimini in pieces. You think they're finally taking care of things like professionals? Naah, I still can't get Chris Anderson or his service department on the phone. I purchased this boat to enjoy a leisurely family experience. I would under no circumstances recommend Anderson Boat Sales for service work. I brought in my small pontoon boat because the still under warranty 25hp outboard was leaking fuel into the water. Anderson said that they fixed it by replacing some gaskets and sent the boat home with me. The day I put it back in the water I noticed fuel in the water again. I went to the store and spoke with service. They said that there was probably still fuel that was working through the system and that it would go away. I used the boat very little that summer and finally took the boat back in because it did not go away. At that time it was past its warranty period. Anderson said that they fixed what Mercury prescribed and that if it got miss diagnosed that it was their fault and that they should be responsible. Eight months later neither Mercury or Anderson did the right thing and owned the mistake and I picked up the broken boat from them this morning. The service manager Jacques Phillippe was involved. I copied Dale Anderson and Chris Anderson on the notes. They never reached out to me. I chased all of them for the 8 months. My next step is going directly to Mercury. I doubt they even know that Anderson was throwing them under the bus to me. Avoid this company at all costs. read more

Unfortunately, I choose this company to store our brand new 2024 Harrison Pontoon over this past winter because the company I purchased our boat from did not offer indoor storage. I was promised indoor storage and I was promised the boat cover, which I supplied, would be kept on the boat during the storage period which was about 6 months. However, I do not believe these promises were followed through on and the proof is in the pudding, see attached photos. My wife and I are extremely frustrated and disappointed due to the condition that our pontoon was in when it was recently returned to us...the interior was filthy and we were missing two poles that hold up our boats cover!!! Then to exacerbate the situation, we were met with disdain after calling Andersons to graciously share our concerns. We personally own a small business and we are aware that unexpected things can happen, so even in our frustration we were doing our best to handle the circumstances professionally. First, Dave tried telling us that we must have misplaced the missing poles -- No, Dave, we sent all three poles with the boat so the cover could be properly fastened while it was being stored "supposedly" indoors at your facility. Secondly, no matter how we presented our concerns about the condition of the interior Dave's basic responses were: "All the boats we store look like that after the winter", and "Well, you didn't pay for detailing so I can't help you". He implied we are stuck with how the interior of our boat looks not considering we detailed our boat before handing it over to Andersons for storage believing the cover would remain on our boat as an additional protection to having it stored indoors. To be fair, we expected some light dirt/dust and would have been happy to clean it up ourselves, but the dirt was caked on. It was even between the seats and the seat backs as well as in most of the crevices. There was standing water/moisture around the speakers and animal droppings and these are just some of the examples of what the interior looked like. Our boat is only a year old and it came home to us looking like it aged 10 years! Weird thing though, our boat cover looks brand new! It wasn't at all dirty like I expected it too look after covering the boat for 6 months. Hmmmmm????? Finally, after failing to get answers and help over the phone, I made a visit to Andersons. Surprisingly, Dave was willing to replace the two missing poles - but that was about it. Still he was unwilling to address the concerns about our boats interior and whether our boat was truly stored with its cover on indoors. We will NOT be returning to Andersons for boat storage services ever! We don't believe their promises were kept & when we tried addressing our concerns with Dave - he treated us terribly unkind and without an ounce of professionalism. Speaking over us via our telephone conversation, cutting us off, and even telling us we were wrong! Complete lack of customer care. read more

We loved our previous Manitou and was in the market for a new boat and Manitou was the only boat we were interested in because of the quality and performance of our 2020 Oasis model. I usually do not write things like this. But Anderson Boat shrink wrapped my boat and stored it for the winter 2021-2022. It came back with a bird's nest in my Bimini and 3 holes. I didn't ask for a new Bimini just repair the holes. I have contacted them (and spoke to Alicia) and emailed pictures as requested. I have heard nothing. I have called weekly and even emailed again thinking they might be busy. I just want people to be aware that at this moment they are not taking care of their customers. read more

March 28th 2023. Its obvious from all the other sad reviews that I am not the only one disappointed in the service that was given at ANDERSON BOAT SALES WATERFORD MICHIGAN. Some of this falls on me, for waiting so long to pick up my 2 props after having them reconditioned. Middle October took 2 props in and received 1 call 2 weeks later telling me they were complete. That part was great. No other curtesy calls. Off season I am sure they were so over whelmed. Late March I get a chance to go pick them up and they cant find either one on a Saturday. Ok Call me after looking for them, not a problem there probably collecting dust some were. They were to call on Monday, of course NO call. I called on Tuesday and speak to a lovely lady. They only have 1 and I need to speak to parts/service manager. Ok. I get it. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS WHAT SO EVER. Ended up buying a new prop at some what of a discount. I was told my second prop was thrown out because after 90 days it's unclaimed property. YA I get it, but you had 1 but not the other. I have been a long time customer no issues but the way there so called MGMT handled this, I will take my money and steer all my friends from this place. We used Anderson's for indoor boat storage, and in the spring they cracked the outdrive during routine maintenance on our boat. Their lack of concern and communication during this situation has been absolutely horrible. They continue to avoid our phone calls, and if their is any communication it is excuse after excuse. We have now been without our boat for multiple months. I would highly advise to NOT use this business for any maintenance service or any storage needs. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR BOAT TO ANDERSONS!! They kept our boat all of last summer all because we were waiting for them to order a piece. They kept our boat uncovered outside for a month in the rain as well as allowing birds to poop within it. Constantly lied about the part that we were ordering. Would call them numerous times and would be told I would be getting a call back but never received one. They broke the tension of the back seat that can be lifted up and used as storage, the boat was returned with deep chips within the body of the boat. Pockets within the boat were ripped as well. DO NOT spend your hard earned cash here. We took our new boat back for minor, and I mean minor repairs. They it for 3 months, just to touch up 2 small chips in the paint. When we went to pick it up, (they knew we were coming), we found that our boat had been left outside uncovered ( we sent it WITH the top). It was filled with sand from their construction site across the driveway, and the holding compartments had 4 inches of water in them. One of the floor brackets for the seats was totally covered in corrosion and completely ruined. There's more, but I won't go into it. Stay away from Cooper, and take your business elsewhere. I agree with the previous review. Do not get your boat serviced here. They do mediocre work and overcharge you. It takes forever to get service done because so many people bring their boats here. I have had service here 3 times. Each time, my boat is a dirty mess and I walk away feeling like I didn't get my money's worth. Dave seems like a nice enough guy but I do not plan to go back here, even though it is the most convenient location for me. Overcharged for bad results, on service. Front counter guys are ok enough, the men in back are insecure & surly. Good products, inexperienced mechanics. I had to finish my repair afterwards. I took it to them because I don't have the time to Learn every type of repair, so I left them service my outboard. Three gaskets missing from my lower unit when I got it back. Never again. I took a mercury outboard to them last summer to replace lower oil and replace spark plugs. They had it for almost a month. When I went there to check in on my repair, they said that it would not start. (it was running when I took it there). It was sitting outside on a stand with 3 guys standing around smoking cigarettes and joking. One of the guys said he tried to fix it but couldnt. 2 days ago I found an independent mechanic who took it apart to find that some of my parts were missing and others were replaced with other inferior parts. My new mechanic is capable and reliable. I believe he will be able to fix it. Long story short, Anderson boats suck in every possible way. No integrity, horrible service. Dont even consider them. Ever. You will not be happy with the outcome you get from them. How the hell do they stay in business. Maybe someone will drag their lying asses through the court system and prevail. I bought a 2011 Stingray LX & a preowned hoist w/canopy in June. They delivered both to my cottage in Higgins Lake/Northern Michigan. Dennis Anderson & Steven Cooper were the salesmen who I worked with & they were 100% professional & honest. Moreover, Cooper had the boat inspected, fully tuned up before he delivered the Stingray himself & surprised me with a new battery. I highly recommend Anderson Boat Sales. They committed insurance fraud on a boat insurance claim i had, they were paid for new replacement parts but then welded the old damaged part and painted it to try to pass it off as new. The weld broke and the crack returned, only when threatened with legal action, did they agree to replace the unit with a new one. When i got the boat back again, it again had used part on it. The state is investigating. Lawsuit is forthcoming. All is documented with photographic and email evidence. read more

Our salesman was great to work with and after comparison shopping for a couple months, I knew I was getting a great boat for a good price. When I received the boat, I needed a little help from the service department to get a few things added and they had it taken care of right away. This place is the worst business i have ever encountered. I dropped of the lower unit of my motor for an estimate in the first week of October. Dave the service manager told me it would about two weeks for an estimate and told mentioned nothing about a charge. The paperwork he wrote up also had not price. When I hadn t heard anything by the middle of November I called to see whats going on with my unit and they told me they have not had a change to look at it yet but i would definatly have a price by thanksgiving. I never got a quote then and i proceeded to call every few weeks and getting the same response that they haven t gotten to it yet. Finally after calling in the begging og march and demanding a response they called me a few weeks later with an outrageous price. When I went to go pickup my unit at the end of March, they wanted a 140.00 to give me back my lower unit, which they did nothing too. When i said they didn t mention anthing about a cost Dave got loud with me and took back my lower unit and then said he was going to call the police if I didn t get out of his store. When I refused to leave he tried to pick a physical fight with my 66 year old dad. These guys are a bunch of liars and cheats. DO NOT SHOP AT THIS BUSINESS. read more

Do not buy a boat from these guys! They have zero customer service and care about nothing but making the sale. For starters, I was mislead about certain info on the boat i purchased. Then, it took over a month for them to have my boat ready which ate into a large portion of the season. Keep in mind it was a brand new 2019 boat. Then when i came in to sign the final paperwork i was told at the last minute that i had to pay $1500 more out of pocket than what we originally agreed on. And that the payment was going to be higher than what we discussed. When the boat finally got delivered to my home the battery pack was not holding a charge. They blamed it on me and told me that I didnt know how to work the boat. I had only used the boat once, which was the day they dropped it off to me. Then it wouldn't hold the charge and when I called their mechanic he told me it was my fault for not knowing how to work the boat. Which is crap. So i sent the boat back to be fixed and then when it came back this time the stereo and the battery dash gauge did not work! We are talking about a brand new 2019 boat. They also misplaced the lien release paperwork from my previous boat that i traded in. Then blamed me again and said i never gave it to them. This almost caused the lien holder on the new boat to take action on my new purchase because they didn't get the title sent to them by because these guys wouldn't send it. On top of it all, the owner of the company Chris Anderson threatened me with a law suit if i didn't get him the lien release (which was given to them twice already) by the next day. Now, I've been trying to reach them to get them to fix the stereo and battery dash gauge that don't work and they will not respond to me whatsoever. I had the WORST boat buying experience at this place! Didn't waste your time dealing with this place. You won't get what you ordered, they'll offer up a substitute with a "take it or leave it" attitude or wait another 6-8 weeks for a replacement. MY new boat was not prepped, I found things wrong that should of been fixed before I inspected it. Wrong accessories installed, I had to change out myself. Towed the boat home only to find out the trailer hand not been prepped either. NONE of the lug nuts were torqued down properly, two nuts were half way off and one was missing on one of the wheels! No trailer tongue to bow safety chain installed, (per Michigan State Law). I waited 3 weeks for my registrations and Bow letter & number stickers. The temp was only good for 14 days, so for 7 days I wasn't able to use my boat & trailer because of NO registrations. When I finally got the registration package there was the WRONG stickers in it. They sent me white stickers to be put on a white boat! WTH!!! Per MI State Law the numbers & letters MUST contrast the boat hull to be visible at a distance. I WILL NOT be returning to this dealership for ANYTHING! I wouldn't ask these Yahoo's to arrange a two car funeral, they'll probably mess that up as well! read more

This company has the worst customer services than any other company I ever dealt with in any industry, I know four people including me who purchased boat from them, All of them are unsatisfied They never follow up on their commitments, take your boat inside, never attend it and it will stay there for all summer. Took my pontoon boat there twice. Both time they said it was "fixed", but it wasn't (it kept stalling out - turned out to be a hole in the fuel line, and they missed it both times). The last straw was that my license plate on my trailer mysteriously "disappeared" the second time I took it to them. After 3 months, I got a call from them saying they found it in their yard.
