I am going to go with the "crowd" on this one and give Free People 5 stars. It is a small shop at the Forum in Carlsbad, CA. I came in to look for a birthday gift for my cousin and a friend of mine. They have a huge selection of clothing and matching accessories. The clerk that was helping me out was super sweet and down to earth. From the second I came in to when I left she made it known that she was there to help but not follow me around. The prices are not for the those who are on a budget. There was a sale section which saved my life. I was able to walk away with a top and a couple accessories for less than $30!

I have been a fan of Free People back when they were an under-the-radar brand known for their earthy, hippie-esque, free-flowing styles. While their overall style still exudes the same down-to-earth feel a decade later, they've certainly upped the design standards--and especially prices--with sleeker designs and more expensive materials. I was elated to visit my first Free People store in Carlsbad, San Diego. While smaller on the square footage scale, the space screams Free People--from whitewashed wooden wall paneling to sleek recess lighting to amazing white, Moroccan-style lamps. Did I even mention the clothing? That of course rocks too. Other indie-turned-mass label clothing chains should take a lesson from Free People's design team; shopping was that much more enjoyable--and my wallet that much more empty. Where's the Free People stores up here in the Bay Area?!

i love love love free people!!! i usually come in to check out the sale rack...but i frequently end up buying something full price. i absolutely love almost everything here! it is my kind of clothing. the jewelry, the sundresses, and if the intimates. its all just so comfy ..can be casual or fancy! sales people are super friendly and helpful. maybe i should get a summer job here so i can get a discount...or that may backfire and cause me to spend more money. love the shopping bags so much...makes the perfect gym bag or beach bag or something to just carry my water bottle when i go for a walk...they are always happy to give me an extra too. i am blown away that people are not being treated well here...the girls are so nice! whether i come in dressed up or stinky after the gym...i get treated the same.

Shoddy workmanship with no customer service! Refuses to pay for repair!!!

not much selection and the sales girl are not very interested in you. They are very busy trying on the clothes they are selling.

Parking was very special and I felt very welcomed. We had to stop and speak to a security guard, which was amazing. I brought in a few bags for selling, and it made me feel safe. Once I entered the business establishment I was greeted, and everybody was very friendly. They offered me a beverage and gave me an apple space for sitting on their comfortable chairs. I love how much light enters through the window windows because it makes your shopping experience fun and you can see the true colors of the bags. The bathroom was very clean. Julia was the woman I spoke to a week ago and she helped me through text message coordinate the purchase of a bag. She was very kind, patient and very thorough with all of the details that I requested upfront. When I finally met her in person to pick up the bag, she was super sweet and spent a lot of time with me. She answered all my questions and I will definitely work with her again in the future. I do wish they had some snack snacks because I always love snack snacks and I spent a few hours there. Overall loved the place. Will definitely go back. I love my bag and it's such good quality. It's even pet friendly. I brought my dog. Prices were competitive to market values which were great.

I consigned my Hermès Chevre de Coromandel Birkin 40 Cognac, 2004 H in Square, through Fashionphile's consignment process. I trusted Fashionphile's reputation and expertise to handle it properly. Fashionphile received my bag. I have documentation confirming receipt, and I also have photographs provided by Marco, a Fashionphile employee, showing my Birkin in Fashionphile's possession. There is absolutely no question that Fashionphile had custody and control of my handbag. I have been battling this situation since May 16, 2026. Fashionphile was returning the bag back to me. However, through what appears to be their own negligence, they shipped my handbag to an address in a state where I do not even live. Let that sink in. A company specializing in luxury goods had possession of my Hermès Birkin and then shipped it to a completely different state that has no connection to me. This was not a situation where the package was lost before it reached Fashionphile. They had already received the bag. This was not a dispute over whether they ever possessed it. They did. I have proof. Yet despite having possession of my property, they shipped it to the wrong location and my bag has never been returned to me. Since May 16th, I have spent countless hours making calls, sending emails, gathering records, reviewing tracking information, preserving evidence, and trying to get answers. What should have been a straightforward transaction turned into weeks of stress, frustration, and uncertainty over the whereabouts of my handbag that should have remained secure while in Fashionphile's care. The most disturbing part is the lack of confidence this experience has given me in Fashionphile's handling of high-value items. Customers consign luxury goods with Fashionphile because they believe the company has systems in place to protect those items. My experience suggests otherwise. If a documented Hermès Birkin can be received by Fashionphile and then shipped to a state where the owner does not even reside, that raises serious concerns about the company's internal procedures and accountability. Beyond the financial loss, this situation has caused tremendous stress. Luxury handbags are not just expensive possessions. For many collectors, they represent years of effort, and investment. To have a company entrusted with that property lose control of it has been incredibly upsetting. As of today June 12,2026, I am still seeking the return of my Hermès Chevre de Coromandel Birkin 40 Cognac, 2004 H in Square, or fair compensation for its loss. I hope Fashionphile finally takes responsibility and resolves this matter appropriately. Until then, I feel obligated to share my experience so that others can make an informed decision before entrusting Fashionphile with their valuable property.

I like the clothes but I just can't see giving money to this establishment when the employees can't engage. I walked in yesterday and there were two employees who never once said one thing to me. I walked around picked up something I was going to buy and then I put it back because no one spoke to me. This has not been the first time no one has spoken to me. He gave me a few recommendations over the phone, and instead of thinking about it for a few days, I made the 60-mile drive down the very next day -- impatience at its finest. When I got there, Mike greeted me, spent a ton of time answering questions, listened to all my concerns, and never once tried to upsell me. He was super laid back, knowledgeable, and helped me find the perfect longboard for where I am in my surfing journey. After I made my decision, he walked me through everything, explained why he recommended the board, threw on an initial wax job, and even hooked me up with a few bars for the drive home. The best part? Everything he told me about the board turned out to be true. On my first session, the difference was immediate. The board performed exactly as he described and made the transition from my old board incredibly easy. I was already hooked on surfing before, but after riding this board, I now have an even bigger hunger to get in the water. Honestly, it's probably not healthy. hahaha! A few weeks later, I called the owner, John, just to let him know how happy I was with the experience. He was every bit as genuine as Mike--clearly someone who cares about his customers and has a real passion for surfing. In a world where great customer service is getting harder to find, these guys absolutely delivered. The Board Source has earned a customer for life. Thanks again for an awesome experience!

When I decided to have a custom Takayama DT4 performance longboard made, it no longer made sense to keep a similar Firewire board in my lineup. I reached out to The Board Source online, sent photos as requested, and was invited to bring the board in. From start to finish, the process was smooth, professional, and refreshingly straightforward. The shop itself is spotless, well-organized, and located in an industrial park with plenty of parking. Walking in, it's hard not to feel like a kid in a candy store because the selection of boards here is way impressive. Ashleigh gave me a very fair price for my Firewire performance longboard, carbon fins, and board bag, and JP offered thoughtful, honest advice about my quiver and resale value. The entire transaction was fast, efficient, and handled with integrity. Could I have sold the board myself for more money on Craigslist or Marketplace? Possibly. But my time is valuable, and the convenience, expertise, and professionalism made this an easy decision. Supporting respected local surf businesses matters to me, and The Board Source absolutely delivers. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and look forward to working with them again!

I should have known better, I've tried selling clothes at Plato's Closet, Flashback, Buffalo Exchange etc...and they never take my stuff. I don't know why and I promise I always made sure they were clean and in good condition. They were brands they listed they accepted on the site: Anthropologie and American Eagle...they didn't take any. The girls were super nice and I appreciated it. But it just always seemed wild to me that they take on brands such as Wild & Fable and A New Day...and my stuff isn't that super outdated again I don't know their process for selecting clothes because they do have curated pieces. In summary, for shopping it could be fun and you can find some stuff but not on a thrift price. However as for selling, unfortunately at this point now I've just never had a good experience selling clothes at these kind of places. If you want to sell clothes you will have better luck on Poshmark where I've sold clothes more easily. So this place can be fun for buying but for selling you might leave feeling frustrated and confused which is why I rated this place at 3 stars.
