What's cool is I'm actually in the area pretty often on Sundays because I go to a laundromat nearby, and it always looks like they're hosting a really solid brunch crowd. After seeing the vibe firsthand, I can definitely see that being a go-to brunch spot. They also keep things exciting throughout the week. Every Thursday at 7 PM, they host trivia with Jonathan from Quizzo -- six rounds covering different topics with chances to win prizes like gift cards. That's the kind of midweek plan that turns a regular Thursday into something to look forward to. And if that's not enough, axe throwing is part of the experience too, in partnership with Detroit Axe Ferndale. Axe throwing has seriously become one of the most fun social activities out right now, and having expert Axe Masters guide you through it makes it even better. My boyfriend and I came up here on New Year's Eve and made it in a few minutes before the ball dropped. Yvette, the bartender, came over to us gave us hugs and each some champagne to toast the new year. It's a neighborhood, mostly regulars type of bar but everyone is welcoming. Drinks are more than reasonably priced and Yvette makes the best shots. She's come up with some great concoctions. Our favorite is the Payday shot. Taste just like the Payday candy bar. She even sprinkled a little salt on top for the salted flavor. Most small dive bars frown upon making specialty shots or martini type drinks but not this place. Instead we got to enjoy The Kielbasa Kings! What a fun time!! I was super excited because we haven't been able to enjoy this celebration since pre-covid! But we are baaaaaaccckkk! As usual, we arrived early in the morning. And were one of the first there. We kicked it off with Polish beer and some shots. One of the guys that played in the band went to my highschool and his sister and I know each other so that was a fun surprise! They had a huge tent set up where the band was playing. They made both bathrooms female and brought in a porta potty for the guys. The removed all the furniture so it was standing room only. We got our polka on and had a great time! Great start to the day!!
