Clearly, this…read moreweekend revolves around Eric R.'s interests, so last night when I noticed a TRX sculpt class here, I told Eric R. I would be getting up early today to try the class. I got lucky for signing up last night because the class was full! I got dressed in the dark and as a newbie, parked where I saw "retail parking" which was on the other side of the building, but it was a pleasant walk on a nice sidewalk in front of the building. I was greeted upon arrival and welcomed by Khanh and Rebecca. It is really nice that water and towels are included for clients! The space is very beautiful, spacious, and clean! I put my stuff in a locker and chatted with Rebecca in the studio. She introduced me to one of her regulars who chatted with me before class began. We started with a warm-up in the center of the room, then grabbed the TRX straps for a barre-inspired workout with balance and a lot of good leg and glute burn! It was challenging, and Rebecca was very encouraging. I was in turnout for so long my calves were on fire! We were given a cold towel at the end which is a nice touch. I also got a little tour of the closets which store props and trampolines. I love that this studio has all of my favorite classes: Pilates, TRX, trampoline, and barre! I would definitely return if I am in the area! Khanh also gave me a hair tie and a card to bring a friend to a free first class, and asked me about my experience even though she had just finished teaching a reformer class in the other studio!

Stopping along the way to explore the offbeat and get some good eats, Fayetteville was my second stop. After a couple days on the road, it was time to get myself back on my mat to work out all the kinks. After plotting out my itinerary for the day Trailside was in the perfect location for a midday stretch. I made it to the 12:00 heated Vinyasa class with Stephani. One may wonder why a 12:00 class in the summer needs to be heated, but it feels so good to sweat it out sometimes. Stephani actually set up a the class in such a way that one side of the room was warmer than the other so you could choose how much you wanted to sweat - really liked that they think about that. The one added touch that won me over was the kleenex boxes. There are support poles throughout the space. And on the base at the bottom of each pole was a box of kleenex. As a girl with some serious allergies, my sinuses are always draining, especially when hanging upside down in downward dog. Having access to tissues is key for me during my practice sessions. And unbeknownst to me, I selected a great spot to layout my mat. To cool off the room after class, Stephani opened the double doors to the community room. A room in front of which I was situated. The draft of cold air sweeping over me was a welcome treat during shavasana. Definitely check Trailside out if you're looking for a way to wash the stress of college away. At least for an hour.

I started Hot Yoga here about a month ago, and I love it. I finally signed up after waiting for…read moremonths because I was extremely intimidated to even just walk in the door. I am generally a weight lifter and previous cross fitter as far as exercise goes, so coming into yoga was completely outside of my comfort zone. I came into Yoga 101 on my first day (which is not a hot yoga class), and Scott, who is the owner, led the class. He helped me learn the basic poses and instructed me on what kind of mat to use for the class, etc. Although Scott gave me great instruction during that class, I kind of feel there needs to be a little more instruction for people who are completely new like myself. But, just as Scott did, the other instructors have been GREAT with walking me through the poses sequences and breathing techniques, so that helps. Aside from a few hiccups I experienced with my profiles and payments, everything else with NWA Hot Yoga has been great. If you have been wanting to try Hot Yoga but were intimidated like me, just take the plunge and try it. Your body will thank you.

Classes are accompanied with hip hop music, but the flow is the heart and soul of each class. Class left me feeling strong and refreshed. I believe that Lululemon outfitted the place, so expect your props to have the Lulu stamp! The little lounge adjoining the practice space has plenty of seating and a welcoming vibe. Loved chatting with the yogis after class. Parking situation - you should be able to find ample free parking nearby on Saturdays, but during the week, prepare to have some coins for the meters. Fortunately, the meters near EYL are pretty cheap, and you should be able to park streetside or in the nearby city lot. EYL is a great addition to Northwest Arkansas and I look forward to practicing here again!

AND!! new yoga classes early in the morning and free child care for mom's who rise early but still want that special part of their day. REASONS TO JOIN!!!: FIRST: If you have any questions the staff is so friendly, this was my immediate draw to the gym. They will show you anything and have so much available for singles and families. You'll never be bored here. ALSO!!! They have great competitive rates. They have corporate discounts TOOOOO!!! They care! SECOND: I don't feel awkward here, I quite like walking in and saying hello. I'm always made to feel like "hey", "glad you're back!" Feeling comfortable lifting weights as a woman for the first time here has always made me feel like... "if I can do it"... you can do it. I never lifted weights in my life, and here somehow i found the courage watching similiar average fitness people trying really hard to figure it all out. This is difficult, but seeing the demographic around me, I felt confident everyone was secretly looking around and feeding off of the obvious intention of everyone. We were ALL trying to better ourselves and I just "felt" that vibe. It's priceless and I encourage everyone to come and join in. THIRD: It's very conveniently located near the NWA Mall... literally right down the street. Soooo, in the summer I can just pop over to lake fayetteville after a workout and enjoy a slow walk and get some outdoor nature time. FOURTH: pure selfishness... I want more people to come and give me courage to keep trying.
