Haven't used this service yet. Going on a cruise that will disembark in NYC. I am looking for a valet luggage service since our flight back to LA is not until the evening. This company will pick up our luggage from Brooklyn cruise port in the morning and drop them at JFK in the evening. Anyways, I called this business and immediately got a call back and the person was able to answer my questions. That is what the 4 stars is for. Had the service set up days in advance. At Free Your Arms recommendation they said it would be easiest to meet them at Newark Airport to retrieve our bags...Fine. Did that, made our plans for our last day in town, with the intention of meeting them at Newark. On the day we were supposed to leave, I woke up to an email from them stating that they no longer had a van to Newark and needed to meet us in town. Kind of a pain, because we had planned our entire day, including transportation without bags from the city to Newark, entirely based on their original recommendation and had to reconfigure everything. Trevor seems to minimize the inconvenience that this caused in his response below. Evidently this wasn't a big deal to him, but it was to me. Made a whole new plan, which now involved cutting our time in town short and different transportation back to Newark (all of which Trevor glosses over). This was more costly, because we required a larger vehicle. Not sure what Trevor is talking about, but our bags would not fit in a standard vehicle. We had two large duffles over 50 lbs each, a 35 pound suitcase, one medium duffle and three backpacks (that we had carried with us through the city)....plus three people. We called Uber in advance and they recommended a SUV because there was no guarantee that a standard UBER would work. Extra cost to us was incurred based on our original plan of taking a standard UBER to Newark and having to upgrade to a larger car, not as the result of any additional charges from FYA as Trevor incorrectly states below. Arrived early at our meeting spot, only to have the driver call us 5-minutes before the pick up time to tell us he was running 20-minutes late. He also asked us to Uber to a different location to meet HIM, rather than coming to our scheduled location. Super frustrating, especially after going to bed the night before with a plan that was completely buttoned up. My issue with this is not related to what time he actually arrived, but the annoyance of receiving the call last minute combined with the request to MEET THEM when I'm paying for a service that is supposed to be bringing my bags to ME. Very unprofessional. Definitely will not use them again. read more

Fast and responsive communication through pretty much any modern-day channel: phone, e-mail, text. I was rescheduled with my bag to a later time, but it turned out in my favor, as they were able to get my bags to a completely different destination where I was eating dinner. read more

We went for the option to have the gentleman pick up our bags from our Airbnb at 11am in Brooklyn and drop it off at JFK Airport at 6:30pm. He was 15 minutes early to both appointments which I loved! He was a lifesaver; we had SO many bags and I can only imagine how tedious and stressed we would be if we had to lug our bags around the subways/on-foot for 7 hours. I'm so glad I found Free Your Arms. I promise you will not regret booking this service. When I come back to NYC, I will definitely book with FYA again. read more

As you can see, I'm clearly not the only one who appreciated the service provided by Free Your arms! I am glad they are getting the good reviews they deserve. I flew into LaGuardia around 3 PM and was scheduled to meet up with the friend with whom I was staying around 8 PM that evening. Since I wasn't exactly looking to tow a suitcase around New York City for 5 hours, I had looked into a luggage storage service prior to my trip and stumbled across Free Your Arms. I made a reservation that Friday and within the same day Free Your Arms contacted me to confirm the details. Upon my arrival at LGA, they were waiting for me at my terminal to pick up my luggage. They were also very punctual in delivering my luggage to me later that night. The delivery man was very polite and his process was organized. I scheduled my luggage pick up online. Pick-up was 15 minutes early but he was willing to wait while I finished packing. I scheduled my bag to be dropped off at JFK and he was on time as well. The guy was courteous and friendly. I would use their service again. read more

We just want to use counter service (leave luggage in a location a pick up later) near metro station Marcy Av., booking this service was quite easy so far so good. After reservation we get a mail with adress where we can find the location to store our luggage there. adress in mail was: 282 Broadway, Brooklyn but this adress was an entrance to an private appartment looked with numbre code. We are asking in the stores left and right from this adress but nobody knows this business. We were dissapointed and annoyed because we didn´t want spent our time for looking the right location. Some doors ahead (294 Broadway) we see a small piece of paper from "Free your arms" with the name of the deli store where we have to go. Adress on the paper was again 282 Broadway so again false but the name of the deli was right (284 Broadway) so we can leave our luggage there, it was very easy and friendly but the expirence before with the adresses absolutly terrible and not needed. Why do I pit a wrong adress in an email, I don´t understand this the information on the piece of paper had writen in the mail with right adress and name of the Deli? And why does the other stores in the nearest neigbourhood don´t know about this service? I think this should be immproved immediately because I also leave a voice message over the named phone numbre in the mail but nobody answer the phone and nobody call me back like I´m asking for, also not good! read more

This was an awesome service! We were in Brooklyn with all our luggage and furiously researching luggage storage options in the area...but there were none. All the luggage storage places were in Manhattan and we wanted to hang out in Brooklyn first. I found Free Your Arms on Yelp, got the app, and put in a request for courier service. The process was quick and painless. Pick up was exactly on time. We ran into a bit of trouble on our part with drop off - we had originally scheduled a 6:45 PM drop off at Grand Central, but it became clear that we weren't going to make that time. I texted Trevor at 6 PM asking to change the drop off time to 7:10, and he was extremely accommodating. We got there on time (barely), got our bags, and got on the train without a hitch! It was definitely worth the cost to avoid the hassle of taking our luggage to Manhattan, dragging them to a luggage storage place, and going all the way back to Brooklyn to start our day. Fantastic service, would use again 10/10! read more

Great company and great service for NYC visitors! We needed a way to see some sites with just a few hours before heading to the airport but not drag our luggage around. We were lucky enough to find this service online about a week before we arrived. We booked the service online giving them our pick up and drop off locations (Manhattan Cruise Terminal to JFK) and paid. After getting off the cruise ship they called us promptly and were there waiting to get our luggage. We went and did the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and Grimaldi's Pizza in just a few short hours. Upon our arrival at JFK they arrived and gave us our luggage. Fantastic service! We have used free your arms twice and had great experiences both times. They arrived early to pick up our bags and were at the airport gate early as well. No stress and it was great to not have to try to lug our bags around at all except to check in. The guy that picked up our bags was the same both times and super friendly. Flew into JFK and Fernando (the baggage handler) was there exactly when scheduled and texted me promptly. We were able to enjoy our day/evening bag free to check out some restaurants/bars. We scheduled a drop off at penn station because we were going up to Poughkeepsie. Again Fernando was there, actually early this time and waiting for us to pick up. Service was great. Before paying for the service they answered my questions quickly and professionally. I reserved my time but had to cancel my reservation a few hours before due to a change in schedule. I wanted to make sure no one was waiting on me and knew I was outside of any refund window. Upon talking to them they were professional and polite about the change and reminded me about the cancellation window. Without asking or expecting a few hours later I received a partial refund. This speaks volumes to me about how they operate. I would use them in the future without question and I recommend them to those in similar situations as I was when I originally setup the appointment. read more

This service was great! We arrived at JFK at 9:30am and weren't able to check in until 3:00, so we scheduled Free Your Arms to pick up the bags. I was a bit confused about the pick up location at the airport, so I texted the number they listed. They promptly responded, and we met the driver, Fernando, at the pickup location. Fernando was right on time (I think a little early actually), and super nice. When it was time to get our bags back, he was waiting for us right by the place we were staying at. The whole experience was great, and really made our trip to NYC less stressful. We liked the service so much, we booked it for our last day in the city as well! read more

Horrible customer service. Called to confirm we could walk in to drop off our bags between 10am - 7pm. There is no sign/front store and no one was available in the office. Customer service was not able to handle our situation and asked a bunch of questions, then tell us they are unable to help because they donno what to do next!? read more

Got into JFK at 6 AM today and was meeting a friend this evening and wanted to find something to do so I could enjoy the city and ditch my bag. Free Your Arms was my savior! Found this place last minute after looking everywhere and just when I was about to give up there they were. I booked at 3am. My order was confirmed within 5 min. My driver Fernando came later on in the morning on time, gave me a ticket luggage which they tag and confirmed the drop off location. He later came back to drop it off and was even 20 minutes early. This was a great service! One of our suitcase wheels was broken, so when I found that we could have someone come to where we were staying to pick up the luggage, I was really happy. Not only that, I found this service at 2 in the morning the day we had to leave, and I accidentally put in the wrong date, but Free Your Arms confirmed the booking and reconfirmed the correct dates and times and came to pick up our luggage that morning. Free Your Arms really makes being a tourist in NYC so much easier. When I arrived at 5:45 AM and unable to check in to ABNB until 1 PM thanks to FYA service I was able to make use of the morning to see the 9 11 memorial and museum. On the other end, we checked out of our ABNB at 9AM and were able to enjoy our last day I the city without having to schlep our bags everywhere and the met us at the airport at the end of the day. Free Your Arms made our NYC trip absolutely perfect and stress-free! We used their services two separate times during our trip and not only were they early to pick our luggage off and drop it back off, they stayed in constant communication and all of the drivers were very friendly. I even set up a last minute Sunday pick up with less than 24 hours notice when there were 3 major sports games going on in town plus the NYC Marathon and they were able to accommodate us without a problem. The price is also very worth it (about $16 a bag I believe) if you're checking multiple bags. This is the one service that is a must when touring the city and checking in and out of hotels w/o having to worry about dragging your luggage around with you! read more

I just had to take the time to tell the world how great this service is! We had a late flight but had to check out of our AirBNB house in SoHo early so I arranged to have them pick up our luggage and deliver to JFK in the evening. Because of this service we were able to have another full day in the city and conveniently take the subway/Airtrain to JFK. Fernando was our driver -- he picked up in the morning (texted me that he was running 7 minutes late and only arrived 3 minutes late!) as well as the one who met us at Kennedy Airport. We texted him when we got to the departure area, told him our location, and minutes later he was there! Early to JFK as well! He was super friendly, helpful, efficient. The best money I spent in New York LOL as we had 3 huge heavy suitcases that I can't even imagine having to lug around. We had looked into daily luggage check in places but for the price and complete convenience it was SUCH a FANTASTIC DEAL!!!! It gave us more time too since we were able to take the subway to JFK rather than UBER in Friday evening rush hour traffic! Trevor the owner who I booked with also gave me a coupon code to use when I told him how I found out about his service. We were newbies to the city so it was so great to find an honest, efficient company such as this!
