I have been taking my dog to various groomers for the past 11 years so I know how Long it typically takes for an appointment. They scheduled her at noon, which I thought was strange because typically it's a 9am drop off and pick up at 330pm. This place had her done at 230. 2.5 hours to groom a pure white giant fluff ball. I specifically stated on the phone, are you sure she is dry because she will stink if not fully dry, as she has an undercoat. They assured me she was almost dry and still in the dryer. This place was also an hour and 20 minutes round trip to get to, so we spent 2hr 40 to drop her off and pick her up today total. I even waited an additional 2 hours to pick her up after the phone call because I was worried she would still be wet, and sure enough, when I saw her I noticed her fur looked wet in multiple places. When I touched her, her neck was wet, her Jing legs were wet, her entire underbelly was wet, I instantly told them she is still wet. The man who worked there took her back to blow dry her further for about 5 minutes tops the brought her back out and said she is pretty done with the dryer, here you go and gave me my half wet dog. I came home, and spent another hour drying her off myself and not to mention hair flying everywhere after they charged me extra for deshedding. Honestly so disappointed and irritated that they did not care enough to do their job properly. It cost 70$ and I tipped 25$ so to have to come home and blow dry her further and brush her also for an additional hour was extremely unreasonable. I will not be taking her back here.

My boyfriend and were glad to find a kennel that could take her as we had and emergency to go take care of. When we dropped rose of at Devonshire the staff was helpful and seemed to care. This made us feel comfortable boarding Rose there. However, when we picked her up, we knew we made a big mistake. We asked how Rose did and the only thing we were told when we came in the door was, she did great. First rose was terrified of the guy that brought her out to us and rose isn't afraid of anyone. The dog hates getting in the car, but she flew out of my arms into the car she was shaking so bad. We have left her with other people before and she did not act like this when we picked her up. Second, they just threw her in a cage and didn't pay any attention to rose. We sent blankets, toys and her bone with her but when we picked Rose up, they didn't even know which blankets were hers and when they finally found her stuff it was packed just like we left it. Third Rose lost weight she looked sick and frail. She was starving she dove into her food and ate faster than I have ever seen her eat. She was also extremely thirsty. Rose couldn't stop drinking water. Finally, she had diarrhea for a week, and I mean very runny diarrhea. We only left her there for 3 nights. Rose shouldn't have been in such bad shape. We feel like she would have died if we left her for a week or more. We will never and I mean never use Devonshire pet lodge again. Rose did not do great instead she was neglected big time.

So we asked around and decided to give Devonshire Pet Lodge a chance for two nights while we delt with a family situation. They told us she was one of the sweetest dog they have met. When we bent down to love on her, we saw our 2 year old little dog was shaking so bad that she ended up peeing on the ground. The person that was handing us our dog smacked her on the nose and yelled at her. My husband told her never hit my dog again! All the way home, she cowered in the back of our car, shaking and whimpering the whole drive home. Since being home, she will not come out of her bed, nor snuggle us, not even to eat nor drink anything. This is not my purebred Siberian Huskey dog. She usually is ecstatic to great our kids and to get on our property to go say hello to all the chickens, rabbits and ducks. I will never take my precious girl there again.

Deanna took the time to come over twice to meet and interact with them before taking care of them while we were gone. These extra visits, at no charge, ensured that she and our boys were comfortable with each other enabling Deanna to care for them while we were gone. She did not want to accept the job without ensuring that our pets would be comfortable, happy and safe! While gone we received daily pictures and updates as to how the boys were doing. This helped us to not miss our "kids" so much. Deanna came daily and checked the house to make sure the boys were not getting into things that they shouldn't and that nothing was wrong in the house. It was a huge relief to have someone taking care of them and keeping an eye on the place. She also took the garbage out on garbage day and vacuumed up the litter around the boys' boxes! Deanna provides such an outstanding service; you can tell that she truly loves pets and her job. The value for having Deanna come to your home to care for your pets in their own environment is invaluable. Her fees are much better than boarding fees in the Oly/Lacey area and as I said your pet gets to stay in its own home! What could be better than that?!?! The only down side is that I think my boys miss her more than they missed me! :-) Honestly, if I could give her more than 5 stars I would.

I said that I wanted to have his head trimmed into a Scottie head from all his hair. Whomever I spoke to told me that that would not take very long and decided to schedule it as a "nail appointment" It does not take someone who is proficient very long to do a Scottie head trim as one is just trimming cheeks, ears and a little on the throat and cutting eyebrows. I should have realized I was not dealing with someone who was familiar with Scotties when she asked how big he was. When we went in for his appointment, much to my horror, I discovered that it is also a pseudo dog care and there were loose dogs in the grooming area. I let her know that my dog is not to interact with other dogs and, while she did pick him up, three other dogs were able to interact with him. NOT a desired event for a service dog! I should have left when, as she was looking at him, she told me that he looked just fine for a Scottie head trim. NO, he currently looks like a Westie, not a Scottie with very hairy cheeks! She took a look at the grooming book then decided I needed to make an appointment. I DID make an appointment and was VERY specific about what I had and what I wanted. We could tell he was having such a great time! Rates are also super reasonable for the VIP service our pup gets, with a discount for longer stays.
