My dog had the best time at Rosedale Pet Resort! We were going away for a week and unfortunately our poor fur baby was recovering from an injury and we were too scared to put him in our regular doggy day care. Mel offered to take him in no questions asked, and make sure he didn't get into (too much) trouble. The resort itself is great, so much room to run around and rest (but mostly run around). Mel put as much love and care into creating the resort that she does into taking care of her pups! She kept in touch with us regularly, sharing pictures, and giving updates. After recently moving to the area I spent a lot of time looking for the perfect place to leave our dog. Our dog is a rescue and has had a lot of changes before she came to us so we wanted to find somewhere she would be comfortable and well taken care of. To say we found it is an understatement. Before making a reservation Amy and I discussed whether Rosedale would be a good fit for us which I really appreciated. Rosedale pet resort is AMAZING! Our dog Miso had a wonderful time and Amy did a fabulous job of sending pictures, videos and updates. My dog, Lucy, stayed at Rosedale Pet Resort over the weekend. Lucy is very timid and afraid of just about everything. Amy was very patient with her. Rosedale is small and quiet which was just what I was looking for. Lucy began slowly but because Amy was so great she finally walked out of her bunk on her own, pottied and ate normally. Amy emailed me often to let me know how Lucy was doing (this was the first time I had left her so I was worried) and about her progress and included pictures. We could not be happier with Mel and the Rosedale Pet Resort as a home away from home for our 2 shih tzus. They were cared for as if at home (including personal time in a clean and safe area) and knowing that they are like our babies Mel sent us photos during their stay to show us how the boys were doing along with updates......they were having a ball in the play area and in their comfy sleeping area. Our boys are 10 and 4 pounds....the smallest is a bit timid and Mel addressed our concerns with special care. When we picked them up they had just been bathed and were clean, happy and smelled wonderful. Looking for a 5 star stay for your pet? Rosedale Pet Resort is your place! I cannot tell you enough how great Mel is with your furry bestie. Pros: excellent communication when scheduling, FaceTime to tour the facilities (it's in her home), reminder email a couple days before checkin, flat rate pricing (no nickel and diming!), easy to use online system to share info about your pet. Those are just the logistical pros! Now onto the actual stay: daily pics of your furry bestie, daily updates on how they're doing, baths when needed (my girl loves mud, so that meant daily in her case), daily adventures in the woods, a clean outdoor play space, private sleeping and eating quarters. We free feed, and I love that Mel would accommodate that so that my girl wasn't pressured to eat at a certain time. We sent our girl with a couple comfort toys, a benebone, her quilt, and food/treats. Everything came back without issue and Mel even washed her quilt! On the last day, our girl got a(nother) bath and some cute pics taken for Easter! (Oh and she smelt so great when she got home!) I can't put into words how great it was to know our girl was so happy and well cared for. She will certainly be returning next time we leave town. Cons- if you have a big dog, you'll have to keep searching. Mel only takes small -to- medium dogs. Our girl is 37lbs and at the top of her weight range that she'll accept. Tours are only over the phone/FaceTime. Now, I had no problem with this but I can see how that might be a "con" for someone else. But, the pet resort is literally IN HER HOME. I wouldn't want strangers coming to my house all the time either if we weren't confirmed to actually be doing business together. So, not a con in my opinion, but there it is. Because the animals are in her home, they get that much more of specialized care, which truly shows. It really is a "resort style vacation" for your pet. Five star recommendation for Rosedale Pet Resort. We've used Rover and other local facilities for daycare, but this is truly a unique and worthwhile experience for your pet. We tried out Rosedale Pet Resort for our rescue terrier who is 7 years old. Great place! Mel the owner showed us the three separate play and running areas for the pups. One even has trails through a natural wooded area so there is occasionally a wild critter to chase. Perfect! We received pictures daily to show how our dog was doing. One thing we liked was that our pup had an actual small "room" to sleep in, not a cage. It is supposed to be a quieter experience for them too. One thing we liked is that the owners pay attention to the mix of dogs and keep them in separate areas as necessary so there is a reduced chance of any doggy drama. At the end of her stay our dog was given a bath and even a nail trim. She is home now pooped and sleeping. I think she had a great stay. read more

#1 - MEL and ROSEDALE PET RESORT Sometimes you just want to say THANK YOU in a big way. We left our almost 8 year old golden retriever with Mel for 3 days and 2 nights. Emma, likes dogs but she likes people more. Mel, a skilled dog professional, understood Emma's needs before we left the driveway. Mel is part Pied Piper and part Dog Whisperer. Mel met us at the gate, coming from the field with a pack of dogs surrounding her. It was a funny and a reassuring site. We handed her Emma's leash, Mel and Emma were off to mingle with the other dogs. We knew Emma was in the right place. While we were on a short getaway, we received 9+ pictures and 3 updates on how Emma was adjusting. We looked forward to Mel's texts, not necessary and made us smile. Mel lets the dogs out of their individual stalls after breakfast. They run till dinner (a lot of exercise, fresh air and new friend making). Mel even bathes the dogs before they are picked up! We like that Rosedale Pet Resort is a family run business. Mel is keeping her Pet Resort to a limited, small number of dogs. All the dogs get individual attention, just what our Emma's enjoys. Hopefully after this review there will still be a place for Emma on our next trip. We liked Mel and the Resort so much we may just send Emma for an overnight so she can see her new friends and Mel. I am so impressed by the caring and intentionality of Rosedale Pet Resort's owner, Mel. I just picked up my rescue pup and older dog from a weekend at RPR and they were sweet smelling, smiling and calm. Mel explained how she placed dogs of similar temperament together and located reactive dogs like mine far enough away to settle in safely. She also places grounded, confident dogs together with new pups to help the adjustment.Her numbers are purposelly small to give every dog the attention they needed. I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience at Rosedale Pet Resort. Both my dog and cat stayed over Christmas Break and Mel sent me pictures everyday of both of them, letting me know how they were doing. Where the extraordinary service came in was when our flight got cancelled and extended for 4 days because of bad weather. Without missing a step Mel said she would keep our pets as long as we needed and to not worry. I had only packed enough food for the week they would be there, so Mel and her husband Jon went out in the snow and bought both our cat and dog their food! I was so overwhelmed with emotion. What an amazing small business to do this! We ended up getting in super late on New Years Eve so Mel kept them another night for us free of charge and said that Jon would even deliver the both of them to us in the afternoon. This place was great. We had both our dogs there for a total of 11 days. They played and played. They were extremely well cared for. It's like it is at home. Not the typical kennel where your canine family member is locked up all day. Upon pick up they were well groomed and nice and clean. They spend individual time with your pet. I picked my Doodle up from Rosedale Pet Resort after a 17 day stay, and it's certainly wayyyyy more than I'd ever expected for our first boarding experience for our 2 year old (toddler behavior) Doodle. I arrived to a fluffy, clean, and yummy smelling doggie who was delighted to see us. My fears and apprehension were put to rest with photos of him daily, of his environment, sleeping bedroom, and interaction with other dogs his own size. Our dog Beau stayed with Mel at Rosedale Pet Resort in March of 2023. It's an amazing place and the only place I would want my dog to stay when I'm away from home. It was so comforting to receive daily texts and photos letting me know how well he was adjusting and how much fun he was having. When the weather is good, the dogs play outside in completely safe surroundings. Their individual "bedrooms" are outfitted camp style with plaid blankets and beds that look like real beds. The beds are inside a portion of the home so the temperature is warm and cozy. There are only small dogs, so there are no large ones jumping and barking to frighten the little ones. When I picked little Beau up, he had been freshly bathed and his bag was packed and ready to go. Mel is great at communicating so you always know how it's going and if she notices any concerns. I needed a pet kennel that had the ability to spend more time with my dog and less with a swarm of dogs (i saw that Rosedale Pet Resort had a max capacity of 16 pets). Rosedale Pet Resort is amazing!!! We had an unplanned overnight trip on 10/28/2021, and our usual boarding place was full. The owner, Mel, was able to accommodate our senior Dachshund, Red, for the night and at short notice. The kennels were large and clean, and all the dogs looked so happy. Our fur baby had so much fun during his stay at Rosedale Pet Resort. He played with other dogs, got to go on walks, and explore. He was even given a bath and had his nails clipped. Totally pampered pooch! We received pictures and updates of Red's stay via text while we were traveling, and it was so nice and reassuring to see him having a great time.
