This was my first visit and I felt like I was dropping off my fur baby to a close family friend. Mel kept me informed with pictures and 'pupdates'! Reduced all my anxiety knowing that our pup was cared for by a family owned, female run company. Mel was incredible. We will definitely be back!!

Hanging at the resort!

Warning: I'm going to HIGHLY RECOMMEND Rosedale Pet Resort. My two adult dobermans (male and a female) stayed at RPR for 7 days while I was traveling out of state. Mel kept me informed everyday with texts and photos of my babies; I had ZERO concerns. My male takes medication daily and prefers to hang out with his sister-- no problem, said Mel. My two had time outside everyday to play and run together. Mel had them bunk together, which they appreciated and so did I. I picked up them and they had been bathed and nails trimmed-- tired from seven days of playing and romping around. Rosedale Pet Resort is a boutique boarding facility. Mel Perry has decades of knowledge about dogs; her facility is clean and well designed so that dogs of all experiences can safely board and exercise. For the discerning dog owner, without hesitation, I recommend the Rosedale Pet Resort.

Having a blast!

This place is the Best!! My 130 pound Rottweiler loves his stay! He's one of the sweetest dogs around. We wouldn't trust him to just anyone. But Mel at Rosedale Pet Resort is an absolute gem and Dog Whisper! Her grounds for the dogs are well kept and safe; she keeps a close eye on the pups in her care. She also gives us updates with photos throughout the stay. This is such a wonderful dog resort! George will be going back.

We could not be happier with Mel and the Rosedale Pet Resort as a home away from home for our 2 shih tzus. They were cared for as if at home (including personal time in a clean and safe area) and knowing that they are like our babies Mel sent us photos during their stay to show us how the boys were doing along with updates......they were having a ball in the play area and in their comfy sleeping area. Our boys are 10 and 4 pounds....the smallest is a bit timid and Mel addressed our concerns with special care. When we picked them up they had just been bathed and were clean, happy and smelled wonderful. It was clear to us that our dogs were treated better than anything they had previously experienced while being away and had a wonderful stay......We highly recommend Rosedale Pet Resort and at this point would not consider taking our dogs anywhere else - total peace of mind. You also reserve a time for drop off and pick up avoiding any unexpected delays. This was really nice. A big thank you to Mel and her family!

We took our dog Leo to Rosedale Pet Resort for a four night stay while we were out of town. Mel was friendly and communicative throughout the entire process from scheduling boarding, to sending us photos and updates throughout his stay. Mel treated Leo like her own dog and spent quality time playing with him, bonding with him, and letting him interact with other dogs. She went above and beyond to make his stay a positive experience. I highly recommend Rosedale Pet Resort!

Looking for a 5 star stay for your pet? Rosedale Pet Resort is your place! I cannot tell you enough how great Mel is with your furry bestie. Pros: excellent communication when scheduling, FaceTime to tour the facilities (it's in her home), reminder email a couple days before checkin, flat rate pricing (no nickel and diming!), easy to use online system to share info about your pet. Those are just the logistical pros! Now onto the actual stay: daily pics of your furry bestie, daily updates on how they're doing, baths when needed (my girl loves mud, so that meant daily in her case), daily adventures in the woods, a clean outdoor play space, private sleeping and eating quarters. We free feed, and I love that Mel would accommodate that so that my girl wasn't pressured to eat at a certain time. We sent our girl with a couple comfort toys, a benebone, her quilt, and food/treats. Everything came back without issue and Mel even washed her quilt! On the last day, our girl got a(nother) bath and some cute pics taken for Easter! (Oh and she smelt so great when she got home!) I can't put into words how great it was to know our girl was so happy and well cared for. She will certainly be returning next time we leave town. Cons- if you have a big dog, you'll have to keep searching. Mel only takes small -to- medium dogs. Our girl is 37lbs and at the top of her weight range that she'll accept. Tours are only over the phone/FaceTime. Now, I had no problem with this but I can see how that might be a "con" for someone else. But, the pet resort is literally IN HER HOME. I wouldn't want strangers coming to my house all the time either if we weren't confirmed to actually be doing business together. So, not a con in my opinion, but there it is. Because the animals are in her home, they get that much more of specialized care, which truly shows. It really is a "resort style vacation" for your pet. Five star recommendation for Rosedale Pet Resort. We've used Rover and other local facilities for daycare, but this is truly a unique and worthwhile experience for your pet. Thank you, Mel!

Even added synthetic turf for the dogs to play on!

THANK YOU to Mel, Jon and the Perry Kids for loving our dogs like they were your own while we went on a mini-vacation. We were beyond impressed with the ease of making an appointment via your website, your attention to detail to ensure the dogs needs are met while keeping them safe and having fun while they had their own vacation! Rosedale Pet Resort is exactly what Gig Harbor needed and we are lucky to have a local family care for our loved ones as much as they do. Our previous kennels felt cold/drop your dog and leave kind of places. The Perry's made us feel welcome and put our minds at ease as we were worried about leaving our Olde English Bulldogge because he is a bulldog! Stubborn, doesn't play nice all the time and loves to hog all the bed/food/treats! Mel assured us he would be loved, cared for and welcomed. Mel took the time to introduce Russell to others, gave him his allergy meds and made sure he had "his space" when he needed it. Lola our Boxer loved her time as well. Jon and Mel took the extra time to send us pictures and give us updates on them both. You could see the smiles on our dogs faces!! They were have an amazing time which made our time away even more enjoyable. BONUS: Lola and Russell got a bath before we picked them up which is included with the stay! We never had a kennel do this or felt this at ease with any other kennel. They are now home happy, clean and exhausted!! If anyone needs a place for their dog or cat we would HIGHLY recommend Mel & Jon Perry at the Rosedale Pet Resort! Thank you for caring and loving our dogs so much!!

Is that a happy pup or what??

So so so happy my fur-baby gets to spend quality time with Mel and her shirt term visitors. I am so impressed she takes the time to get to know my dog personally before taking her in. Mel checks in with us periodically with pictures, fun antidotes, and all important updates on our girl. This is a small, family-owned business that takes pride in what they do. Mel doesn't just board your pet, she plays, handles, takes unprecedented care of your pet, just as if it was her own. The grounds were made for dogs. There are play areas, a place dogs can roam safely. Our pup came home fresh and clean even! Mel makes sure every pup gets a bath before going home. Never have I had such personal care for my fur baby!!

Wallis

What a wonderful place for my dog Wallis! I decided to use RPR after reading about the travails Mel went through in the past. Wallis, a border terrier, was a happy camper. I really appreciated daily texts, complete with pictures. He was truly well taken care of. I am currently plotting reservation dates in the future, as Mel doesn't taken lots of dogs at her dog resort, for more attention for those she has. Many fenced acres, a doggie paradise! Very appreciative of care for my dear Wallis!

This place rocks! Honestly I think my Doberman had more fun here then my Wife and I on our vacation. The love and attention Mel, Jon, and their family provide make this place what it is. After using their service I will never take my dog anywhere else. Our dog came home clean, happy, and ready for a nap, which tells us he got plenty of socializing and play time. We also really enjoyed the photos and updates Mel sent us. Helped us keep peace of mind knowing our dog was being well cared for.

Linn owns two places side by side. The dogs have a dog run in the center of the house. They can spend all day running back and forth between the houses. This is a very secure area. Your dog(s) spend the night uncaged in the house. They find their own spot to rest. Linn is alway there looking after the pets. Her prices are very reasonable compared to other places. I was very impressed on my first visit. Everything is so clean and well maintained. If you don't believe me, call her up and set up an appointment to visit her place. She has the credentials to back her experience. She is a member of: PSI Certified Professional Pet Sitter and a Member of the National Association of Pet Sitters. She is certified in Animal First Aid & CPR. She is also Bonded & Insuried. When you go to other places, ask about their credentials and experience, they can't compare to the "Personal & Pet Concierce". No, I don't get free boarding for my comments! My dogs are usually with me all the time and I am very hesitant to leave them anywhere without giving two hours worth of instructions. Yes, I'm THAT kind of pet parent. Anyways, I stopped by to check out Linn's place before I took my dogs there and it seemed like a great place and all the dogs seemed happy to be there. She showed me around all the areas that the dogs would be in and I liked that it was very much a home environment, instead of doggie daycares that seem very sterile and not like home. It really is like a little dog adventure land that they can explore the many yards and decks and different areas. After the first night I left my dogs there, I ended up staying longer than expected and having my dogs stay there on five different occasions, one that lasted 4 nights. Each time I felt more and more comfortable and really left my dogs knowing they were in good hands and when I dropped them off and picked them up they were happy -- not scared, anxious or hesitant at all. This is something, especially for my newest dog we rescued from an abusive home just four months ago and he is very timid around most people and new environments. There are also cameras you can check on your pets on, although I never downloaded the app or website. That's how comfortable I was, I didn't feel I needed to check on them. Although I appreciated the picture and video updates that Linn sent me! The price is quite reasonable, but don't forget to leave a little extra if you really appreciate the care your pets have gotten, because she works really hard for the little she charges. Especially with my dogs, I know they're a handful! She is also willing to work with you on pickup and drop-off times and she ensures you are the only person dropping off so it is easy for all involved. The extra gates also give peace of mind your dogs won't escape on accident or if they're looking for an adventure, as mine oftentimes do. Linn really has thought of everything here, and my dogs enjoy staying overnight and playing with all of the other dogs who come here. I just wish I could find a place like this in California, but I'll be back next time I'm in town and know that I can leave my dogs safely while I'm away.

I've never boarded my dogs before and was very worried. I have one husky mix with separation anxiety and the other is dog aggresive to strange dogs. Dog sitters were not an option and I couldn't stick my dogs in a kennel. I don't exactly remember how I stumbled on Peninsula Pet Lodge, but I saw the suites and contacted them via email to see if they would take my "special needs dogs." They said the Gig Harbor location would be the best bet with the suites. When time got closer to book, Joie contacted me via email that Olalla would be the better location now that they have suites and are better prepared for dogs with needs. We toured the facility and booked it. Today while trying to see if they accepted checks before I picked up my boys I saw all the negative yelp reviews and got worried. (I did not see the "not recommended" positive reviews.) When I got there the woman at the desk was great, she went into detail about my boys stay including that they tested my aggresive dog in a small group and he did great. The one dog was actually upset to leave and pouted in the car. I couldn't have been more relieved to see my dogs geninuly happy. The only thing that I am taking off 1 star for is when I dropped my dogs off the woman asked a coworker to bring my dogs to the porch while they cleaned the suite, and when I went back with the one dog while she had the other, the woman bringing them back started screaming at my 2 year old that she couldn't come past a certain point. My 2 year old went into a panic for me and thw woman screamed more at her because she didn't know if the other (caged) dog was child friendly. Which wasn't relevant because my daughter didn't even care about the dog, only being next to me. My daughter is only 2, she was confused and scared why a stranger is telling her that she can't be with her mom. My daughter has been taught never to touch strange dogs, which I understand the lady doesn't know that, but she didn't hand it well and that made me lose it on her.

We are contacting them today to ask to speak the owner. The first groomer did a great job, trimmed and cut her perfectly. My boyfriend took her in yesterday, 5/30/25, asked for the same cut as the first time but to trim the pants a little shorter and the sani area shorter. My dog came back fully clipped/shaved extremely short which is unacceptable for a double coat dog; I would be astounded if this "groomer" actually completed any grooming courses. I am now concerned with the health of my dog as the weather heats up due to losing the natural protective factors of her previous coat to prevent overheating. The "groomer" also wasn't able to trim her nails and cited that my dog couldn't handle it; I've never had a groomer fail to trim her nails. Lastly, she came back with a razor burn-like mark on her under belly, the "groomer" said this was there before which I do not believe. This "groomer" should not be allowed to groom again until completing additional courses and training. I don't recommend this place for grooming.
