Called Freedom Air & Plumbing for a clogged bathroom sink, receptionist was very pleasant and said She would get someone out within the hour. Plumber showed up and said problem was further down pipe and said He would use a powered snake. Estimate was $389.00 for a simple snaking of pipe. I agreed only as I needed the clog fixed immediatey. Way overprice, I would never use Freedom again. 8 months prior, I had a major blockage in main shower drain, that plumber had to get a second helper and used a very powerful snake to break through severe clog about six feet in drain line. 3 hours of labor and two workers and I was only charged $225.00. Our experience with Freedom Air and Plumbing has not been good and I would NOT RECOMMEND their services. We had an emergency plumbing repair which was successfully completed last year in a timely manner at signficant expense. The work had to be done so we paid the bill and then regretfully signed for their annual service agreement because it included one free service call in addition to annual inspections of the plumbing and HVAC system. When we called a few months later with a clogged shower drain, we were told that it would be a days before a technician could be dispatched. We had no choice but to call in another company for the problem. The service agreement with them has been a waste of money and an annoyance. Their annual service agreement is charged monthly but cannot be terminated until the end of the year's term. In our experience, the annual HVAC and plumbing "inspection" is simply an excuse for a technician to visit your home to identify a new "problem" with the system and recommend a replacement part with installation to rectify the "problem." Post inspection of the reported issue by another plumber led to a different recommendation that did not require a new part or extra labor. It required only cleaning. Having now compared the cost of replacement parts and estimated labor from Freedom Air and Plumbing with other area plumbing companies, I have found Freedom Air and Plumbing prices are very high and that their annual service agreement is not cost effective. Terrible Experience - Freedom Air & Plumbing Does NOT Honor Their Contracts My experience with Freedom Air & Plumbing started out great -- and then completely unraveled into one of the most frustrating and disappointing customer service nightmares I've ever had. I initially signed up for their $199 annual maintenance plan, which promised two plumbing maintenance visits and one AC maintenance. My first appointment was excellent, and the technicians (Darryl and Sarah) were phenomenal -- professional, thorough, and genuinely kind. I had two of my three services completed that same day and was told the final visit would be scheduled for August. Fast forward to May 2025. That third maintenance visit? Never happened. Not only did no one ever contact me to schedule it, but Freedom Air also never followed up -- for an entire year. I waited, assuming they'd eventually reach out. They never did. When I finally called them, I was stunned to be told that my contract had expired and that if I wanted the service I already paid for, I'd have to buy a brand new annual plan for another $199 -- just so they might be able to help me. Yes, really. They want me to pay again for a service I already paid for and they failed to deliver. Absolutely insane. I requested to speak to a manager and got a call back from Kaitlyn, who doubled down and said the same thing. She claimed their records showed that someone called me in August 2024. That's simply not true -- no one from Freedom Air ever contacted me, and I told her that directly. But rather than take accountability, Kaitlyn just kept reading off what else the $199 included (which I made clear I didn't care about), and eventually told me she "couldn't help me" unless I paid again -- though generously, at a discounted price (what a joke). In what world does a company think it's acceptable to take your money, fail to deliver the full service, and then ask for more money just to fulfill what was already promised? That's not just poor service -- that's unethical. I will never use or recommend Freedom Air again. They've proven they're untrustworthy, unreliable, and unprofessional. Be careful with Freedom Air. It appears like they hand out bonuses to the AC technicians who can upsell you the most. I ignorantly paid $2000.00 for an AC system inspection because the tech was able to convince me that "it is really the best option." I know "fool me once shame on you!" Their Plumbing technicians are a little better. I did have two good and one bad experience from the plumbing side. Something that makes it even worse is they send out a salesman on the first visit who promises a lot of "extras" then neglects to let the tech who does the work know what was promised. I had a very good experience with Freedom Air when it came time for me to replace my entire air-conditioning system. I live in a condo beachside, so our systems are exposed to a lot of the elements which can significantly age them overtime. Especially the outside rooftop unit. My air conditioner was an old Rheem work horse that had been there since 05. The roof unit continued struggling to remain operational although time and weathering had taken its toll. The inside unit was a beast, very dependable, but was beginning to fail and would only run for a few seconds at a time. After having performed by a few other companies I decided to go with freedom. I noticed on their website they advertised a veterans special giveaway contest that you could enter. Several of my friends filled out the form and recommended me to be entered into the contest as I am a military veteran . After not hearing anything for sometime, I gave them a call and inquired about it but nobody knew anything about the "contest" and said that the website has not been updated for sometime. Either way I had them come out and write out an estimate, which also included a number of features of follow up maintenance and inspections etc. As expected, as any business would, they would suggest the highest in unit system to be installed. However I elected to go with the less expensive system which was still a solid system with a great reputation for reliability and longevity. So you can expect to pay anywhere between $7000-$15,000 depending on how much of an area you need coverage for and how much you are willing to spend. Obviously the end systems would last longer income with more features etc. The crew arrived and wasted no time removing the old system from inside the home and on the roof. A crane was brought out to bring the new unit up and onto the roof which is only two stories fortunately. After the air handler inside my home was removed, closet was cleaned and prepped. The new unit installed, and fresh coat applied everywhere, and sealed to ensure efficiency. After all installation was complete, the crew performed a number of test on the roof and inside the home to ensure the unit was working properly and at peak efficiency. Very professional and knowledgeable crew who seem to really care about their work because it has their name on it. They gave me $1000 discount for being a veteran. Out the door was around $7000. For me, worth every penny because of the quality of their installation and knowledge of their craft. The system has been in for a few months now without any issues, I'm saving more money and it's peace of mind as summer will be here before you know it! read more

I was favorably impressed with the service and the competitive price(after considerable negotiation) charged by Freedom Air for installing a split system heat pump at our home. When the heat pump on the other side of the house stopped working, I did not hesitate to take Freedom Air up on their special price service call for $55. That turned out to be a costly error on my part. They charged $293 for a dual run capacitor that I later bought (exact same part) off of the web later for $6.63 . The total bill to replace the capacitor came to $389.98. Usually, the company is meticulous in documenting everything and providing a detailed invoice. But in this case, I never received an invoice Thinking that the tech may have overcharged me for the service I spoke with the service manager who confirmed that was the correct price. He revealed that it costs the company $300 to send out a tech on a service call. If you are enticed by the service special of only $55, you might, as I did, pay a premium for any part needed. I wrote to the President of Freedom Air asking if the charge of $389.98 was their standard policy for replacing a capacitor or if a mistake had been made. I never received a courtesy reply. After Freedom Air installed the new heat pump, they advised me that the duct distribution system needed to be upgraded to work efficiently with the new heat pump citing a total external static pressure well beyond the allowed spec. They gave me a written proposal to install a new distribution system for $7,954.14. At a later date, their tech proposed correcting a leak in the supply plenum of the other system at an additional cost of $700. I recently had a complete brand new distribution /duct system installed and the leak in the supply plenum corrected for $4350, saving $4304. My experiences cited above may conflict with other reviews of Freedom Air. However, it is clear that a better understanding how certain companies work, could save a prudent shopper significant amounts of money. My two negative experiences with Freedom Air have permanently disqualified them from any of my future business. read more

I realize now I should have called around for estimates. However I had to go to work and Christmas was around the corner. I will not use them again due to price gouging. For a few years now, I've turned to Freedom Air and been generally happy with their service. I don't know what's changed but it's definitely been for the worse. I've had a high static pressure issue for years and gotten zero answers as to why. I ended up going into the attic and finding it was damaged ducts but somehow the experts never thought to do that. I asked them to quote replacement and they told me a price more than double any other contractors. Then, I had a problem with my return air intake getting moldy and musty so I asked them to quote installing of duct. They quoted it and I agreed to the price, then after a month of not scheduling it, I finally called and scheduled it myself. I had to push off the work for 2 months due to other work being done at the house. When I called them, they said that the quote was still good so I accepted it. Then, after another month of waiting with no one calling to schedule, I had to call again to get it scheduled myself. Then they said they would have to send someone out to requote. It was already quoted and accepted! So, I just cancelled the work since it was already overpriced the first time. I had a 2 year maintenance contract to "inspect and maintain my A/C and plumbing twice a year". Again, I had to call for my first inspection because it was never scheduled and they finally called me for my 2nd one but probably cause the contract had expired 10 days prior because they wanted me to resign (at a cost 20% higher than last year). Inevitably, whenever they checked my A/C, they would charge me to "drain and flush" my pan. The first time it was $70, and this time it was $101. They never did the plumbing Inspections. They tried to quote $350 for a UV light that was still working. I decided to give them one last chance because the Tech said he could do the return ducting for 20% less than they had quoted me before. I was excited to finally see a reduction in their crazy high pricing and agreed. They came today to do the work. They reinstalled insulation board (that I already had in there) and put mastic all over the place. The mastic didn't even cover all the exposed surfaces. They never installed ducting like I requested and charged me over $500 for the work! I could have done that for $30 on my own! I was hiring them to install ductwork! I will never, ever again use Freedom. Stay away. They bait and switch, will upcharge you every chance they get and will only do the minimal work required. Buyer beware. read more

Had a leak in our washing machine so we purchased a new washer and dryer, still leaks when draining. Problem was the drain for the washer had a plug/blockage. Freedom came out the next day. Tech spent the first 25 minutes looking at his iPad to see what he could charge us for. His first quote to remove the blockage was $2400.00 (mind you we just spent $2000 on a new washer and dryer delivered a couple of days before). When I told him the price was unreasonable for snaking the washer drain he dropped the charge to $1315.00. Within less than 30 minutes the drain was cleared. He then put a remote camera down the drain (without my consent for an extra $100.00) which had such a poor resolution that I found it useless. Time to use camera, two minutes. Total cost $1320 for 45 minutes work. On his way out he stated I should have the whole house pressure washed in all the plumbing pipes in a couple of months for another $2500.00. I am retired on disability but not stupid. I can tell when service people take advantage of the elderly. My personal opinion is to avoid this company at all cost. I wish I had read some of these horrific reviews before signing on with this company. This has happened twice to me now with Freedom Air. I had an appointment this morning where a routine maintenance was supposed to happen on a prepaid contract. I called their office a little after 10am, because they said they would be here between 8am & 10am. They seemed confused that no one showed up, then said "didn't you get a text stating that we had an internal emergency and had to reschedule?" I let them know that the last text I received from them was about coming at 10am, no text about rescheduling was sent to me. This happened once before to me with Freedom Air. I rearranged my schedule today to accommodate this appointment & then they never showed. I was hoping they would at least compensate me somehow for wasting my time & then having me reschedule, when they never notified me they weren't coming. VERY VERY unprofessional. Requested a tech to come and look at our air because our indoor coil was freezing up. The tech said it was low on refrigerant but did not state if he found anything wrong with the unit. 11 days later it was froze up again so I called another company for a 2nd look and within 5 mins the tech found it had a bad part and was able to fix it the same day. Freedom charged me over 400$ to just bump the system without really looking at anything, just suggesting we would need a new system if it continued to freeze. 2nd company charged $700 to fix and refill with refrigerant. The technician was polite and informative. This review does not reflect the service he provided. I called Freedom Air because I installed a new gas range and could still smell the sulfur additive in it from time to time. The local gas utility company recommended then as a trusted service provider. The pricing is expensive. It's on the verge of gouging. It was $89.00 for the service call, which is pretty standard. On top of the $89.00, it was another $240 to unhook the gas line and plug it back in. My total was $329.00. The price Freedom Air charged for the service provided was astronomical and on the verge of unethical. I will not recommend this company to anyone. They should be embarrassed, but big companies usually don't care about bad publicity. read more

On top of that one of the toilets continued to run so we called them back out, and they charged us their $89 service fee again. Not standing behind their work and will never use again. During a routine maintenance visit- My inside air handler unit was punctured twice by the technician at the top by the ceiling. In my many years of having various companies do AC maintenance, no one has ever punctured my air handler unit to test it. I now have 2 large black plugs at the top of my unit which are very noticeable and I am concerned will be an issue. Had I been asked beforehand if this was acceptable I would have clearly stated NO! But this was done without asking! Also, my AC unit on the inside wall by the filter area is now much louder performing then before the maintenance was performed. This was mentioned to the technician after he was done and he shrugged it off and did not act concerned at all when I expressed this as an issue. In addition, a large sticker for the company was put on my outside air unit without asking. New a/c unit June 2022. Duct work failed within a month, and after argument they came and repaired it. August 2023 the one year final inspection covered in original cost, they recommended $1,465 repair work. September 2023, same duct work that failed previously fell from the ceiling and out of the unit (stilt house so all a/c duct is under house). They wanted over $700 to repair claiming they were not responsible and insinuating someone had pulled the installation down (??). Freedom is not for the customer anymore. While working for the produce company mentioned before I would use freedom to service our overhead refrigeration drain lines. My company wouldn't have me look into flushing the lines once and while so they would clog with sludge 1-2 times a year. They would come out and declog them rather quickly, I won't say easily but they sure made it look that way. Their value commercially was very reasonable, so they suited our needs perfectly. The only time I ever had an issues was 1 time they missed appointment and didn't call. Unbelievable!!! Got a new unit in which cost us $13,000.00. From day 1 we have had nothing but problems, the wood box that the A/C sits on in the garage was poorly made. They had to come out and make a new one. They have changed out the thermostat 3 times, second stage motor on the outside unit is not working due to not properly wiring it right, heat wasn't properly wired. I was called at 8:45 am saying a technician was on the way. By 10:15 am, no one has shown up and I was not contacted. I had to call them to find out my technician went home for the day due to an "emergency". They reschedule my service to 1 to 4 pm. They call me at 11:15 saying a technician is available and will be sent to my location. Another hour goes by, no technician and no communication. Well we are NOT off to a very good start! I have a slab leak and had them out on 10/2, then was scheduled for 10/10 for a "Re-pipe" (ouch, 8 days with the water cut off) and then we had "Milton". I was called before the storm and was told that if they couldn't get to me before the storm then they would be here on 10/10 or 10/11 at the latest, That's perfectly acceptable. BUT 10/10 came and went, not even a call, I called around 11am on 10/11, they said "you are scheduled for between 1-4 today" (odd, for a re-pipe job, but ok)... well no show and no call again! So I called early on 10/12 but "they had to call me back". They called 4 hours later and I am now told that I am scheduled for 9am 10/14, and no explanation as to why the delay (I didn't take the call)! So yeah, we are NOT starting off very well! I wouldn't be here (reviews) if they had just called and explained what the holdup is, instead of lying and just plain putting me off! NOT very professional or caring in my book! First, the bad, because that's what stands out immediately. I had a very serious water leak behind my tub in the wall between the two bathrooms. Freedom Air sent one gentleman out to inspect and repair this leak, he arrived at 12:00 on Monday afternoon, he gave me a initial inspection charge for camera access. He could not find the leak with the camera, so then he gave me another charge for difficult access to find the leak which required cutting inside of a bathroom cabinet through a wall. then he quoted me another difficult repair fee to make a long story short, he ended up replacing 6 inches of half-inch copper pipe and used two copper unions to connect them. He was there for a total of two hours. My bill was $1002! Mind you ONE service tech for two hours! These are the equivalent of big-time lawyer fees. I'm sure that 6 inches of copper water pipe, and two unions and some solder and flux might come to $25. The good is my regular plumber was an able to make it for two weeks and these people were able to come out the very next day which was a Monday they were able to fix the leak, which was disabling my whole house as I had to have the water shut out off, so it would not flood my whole house. I felt like I had a burst appendix, and the doctor had me open and I could either bleed out or pay them their exorbitant rate! please note that I did call the company and report what I am sharing with you about my experience, and they assured me that somebody would call me back to resolve this issue. Stay away from this company at all costs! The worst quality, service, professionalism I have encountered amongst dozens of contractors I've worked with. They completely took advantage of me deploying to the Middle East with the military. They were hired to replumb my house and told me it would take 3-4 weeks, which I decided to start because I wasn't deploying for another 7 weeks. It ended up taking over 5 months because they simply were not showing up. Especially once I went overseas, they went silent. Due to the time difference and working 12 hour days without access to my phone, it was difficult for me to contact Freedom during working hours. Through their notifications and my cameras I could tell they stopped going to work at my place. I would be able to call every 3-4 days for a status update, urging them to continue work. They would tell me they were off working an emergency or waiting on the city to call them, and that they would have the plumbing manager call me back. I wouldn't hear back at all. Eventually I asked them when I would be the emergency since they were months behind schedule. At the end of the project, the General Manager admitted that they did not show up on 56 of the 110 days that they could have worked. Most of the 54 days they did show up, they would leave within an hour. My house was torn apart and without running water for 5 months! It's ironic to call yourself Freedom Air and Plumbing when you completely screw over a deployed military member in this way. The work they did do was poor quality. They needed to do rework several times to pass inspections. Follow-on contractors also had to do rework at additional expense to me to fix errors in their work. When they said they were done with the job, I found about 20 things needed reworked as well. The toilet was left on shims, furniture had mud and cement splatters, showerhead was broken, sprinklers were broken, and wires were cut in my backyard causing loss of power to the house for 11 days before my neighbors told me about it. My brand new fridge was covered in mold and had magots inside it by the time I found out about the power outage. Freedom never thought to mention the power outage or cut wires to me. Luckily my neighbors noticed and reached out. At the end of the job, they left my entire front yard just sand. They had tore up most of the grass and what they didn't tear up was dead from the sprinklers being off for over 6 months. I had to buy topsoil and sod to get it back filled in. My neighbors complained of unprofessional behavior from their workers; loud cussing, speeding vehicles down the street, employees smelling of marijuana, trailers and equipment left parked on the street for weeks without them even showing up to use it. The biggest disappointment was the service I received. I was urging the project manager and plumbing manager to do more the entire time I was away. They refused to let me talk to the owner of the company at all. They were never available when I called and never reached back out to me when I asked the office to have them text or email me back. Towards the end of the job, they pressured me to pay in full before the job and final inspection were complete. When I told them I wasn't paying without the job being complete and talking to the owner, they submitted a notice to file a lien against my property, despite me being deployed and protected legally from liens while away. They didn't get the General Manager involved until I refused to pay before the job was done. She was unaware of any issues with the job up until that point. Absent the entire way on a major project months behind schedule. This company can be summed up as poor workers with clueless management at all levels. In the end, I lost out on several months of rental income, probably $12-15 grand based on past rental experience and Freedom was not willing to work with me at all to recover any of those costs. They told me there was no set end date in the contract. It's one thing to take longer than estimated, it's another thing to simply not show up to work for months! They reimbursed me for additional costs I paid to fix their work, but the headaches, stress, and lost revenue were not worth it at all! They offered free A/C servicing for a couple years, but I declined it as this company is never welcome back on my property again! I suggest you do the same; stay away from them! read more

I have been a customer of Freedom Plumbing for several years and I have been satisfied with their cost and result....until recently. My toilet was taking 5 minutes to refill after flushing, which is too long so I called Freedom Plumbing. A technician diagnosed the problem and told me that all the parts inside the toilet tank needed to be replaced and I accepted that. I was given several options including a replacement of the toilet itself for about $2000, but rejected that since there was nothing wrong with the toilet, only the parts in the toilet tank. The "estimate" for replacing the parts was $660 which I foolishly signed off on. I guess that sounded cheap to me compared to $2000. The next day I regretted my paying such an exorbitant price, called Freedom Plumbing, and asked to speak with one of the managers to justify and explain the charge. He stated that they only use the best parts and not ones sold in the big box stores. Btw, big box stores charge about $30 to replace all the entire parts, so I still cannot accept or justify the price they charged me. I am very disappointed, I feel as though I was ripped off, and will look for another plumbing company in the future. read more

Tito B. was late. He was supposed to arrive between 11am and 2pm. I was waiting till almost 2pm and I called the office. On the phone they said to me that he will arrive at 4pm., then in 30 min they called me back and said he will come at 3pm. It was waste of time all day.
