I was working with Karen Malat who I was referred to by another agent who could not help me. I sent…read morea very detailed email with what I was looking for, important information about my home, updates, my cars and how we use them. It was extremely comprehensive. When Karen first quoted me she did not follow the comprehensive email I had sent and replied with wrong quotes. Seeing that this was an oversight and giving people the benefit of doubt I emailed her back asking her to change the wrong items and re-quote. I also confirmed that my moving violations were taken into account. I have an illegal left turn during posted hours and an accident at a known issue intersection on my record at the moment. She replied with the corrected quotes and even went as far as to send me my record that was pulled and in the email in black and white, she says they were taken into account. A few weeks later, I email Karen back after I had time to look at all other competitive quotes and tell her, I would like to purchase the policy with Erie. She replied that they have tightened their guidelines and I'm not eligible. What???? I had just talked with her two weeks earlier, this seems ridiculous. I question her and she re-quotes me with another company almost $1000 more. I told her, no thanks!!! I asked to speak wth her supervisor because that is who Karen blamed for the mistake and she says "Carol" will call me. Then she sends a follow up email that the owner of the firm she works for "Tyler" will be calling me. Neither of these people have called me. This is a prime example of how not to do business. For a business that gets paid if I buy a policy, you would think they would try to keep me- see what they could do for me or at least talk to me!! I'm pretty disappointed in how this went down and the complete lack of customer service this firm provides. I would look elsewhere for insurance. There are a ton of firms out there that would be willing to provide better customer service than this, even if they are unable to provide you with a policy.

Denied coverage because underwriter "saw lifted slates" in picture - two different independent contractors did not find any lifted slates. Repeatedly asked what would need to be done to get coverage issued and could not get an answer. Would not even get back to us with what pictures were used or where they were seeing the supposed 'lifted slates.' Able to easily get insurance elsewhere.
