I got lucky. We have been getting my girlfriend's house ready for sale, so we have been using a lot of contractors lately. Up until Gary, the best I could say about any of them was that some worked well...IF they showed up; or worse, some showed up, but their work stunk. One day, I Googled locksmiths, and since I am not in Maine on a weekday often, I asked if he could come out that day on short notice, and he obliged. As I watched him work, he went above and beyond what I initially called him for: A broken lock. He realized that the weather seal was pulled out, and he fixed that. Then he made sure that the holes for the locking mechanism were moved since the house had settled, and then he also fixed the lock itself. The door has never worked so well since I met my girlfriend, and went to her house for the very first time over a year ago. Gary goes above and beyond, AND knows what he is doing. read more

I emailed Gary Beaudoin re a new keyless lock for my front door. He sent me a lock recommendation and quote via email; we emailed re issues, and agreed on an installation date of 06/16/2016. He called ahead of time when the job he was working on was running a bit late, and I appreciated that. When he arrived, he installed the lock skillfully and swiftly. At one point he adjusted my door so that the lock would engage properly - it's the original front door to a 1947 house - I'm sure either the door or the door frame has settled a bit. He gave me a brief tutorial on using the lock, and left the small owner's manual with me. Excellent, professional job. I love the lock (Schlage FE595 Latch type BE365 Deadbolt)! It locks keylessly from both inside and out with ease. There's a key if you forget the code. There are codes (two preset and you can create more) if you lose the key. I bought this lock so I can give contractors an entry code if I need work done; I can delete the code when their work is done. In 2015 Freedom Locksmith Services (Gary's son Kyle) at my request installed a more secure deadbolt on my exterior back door when I replaced the original door (a traditional one with square of glass at top) with a fifteen light French door. The door faces a secluded yard, and I decided to upgrade the lock proactively. They worked with my tight schedule, installing the lock a few hours after contractor completed the door installation. Kyle discussed with me the various options, and I selected one. The installation went smoothly. It's been a year, and the lock has worked out well. read more

Called on a Saturday night at 9:30 pm as they advertise 24/7 service. I am a local petsitter and suddenly the key to my clients house did not work anymore. I was contracted to care for a dog with a seizure disorder that needed meds. This service was one of five I called that night (I did not receive a call back from any). Called the Police who could not help and finally the Fire Department helped Sunday morning. Do not advertise what you can not or are not willing to deliver for a service. I will never call on this 'business' again. read more
