After three visits to the Electric Grinch, I know this for sure:…read more1. a nice selection of brews in draft, can and bottle form. All the bartenders have been super friendly and have given great service during my exchanges. 2. the craft cocktail menu seems to be a hit! The bar has been filled with fancy looking drinks the first two times I visited, leading me to choose my own fancy cocktail during visit #3 - the Jumanji, a rum based fruity drink that hit the spot. 3. I love, love, LOVE that we have found a new music venue for local tunes several nights of the week. I've seen one new-to-me artist and came back another night when a band I've seen before was visiting. Both nights had good sound, great lighting, and people dancing in the building. My kinda night! 4. the vibes are chill enough to not feel stuffy and updated enough to feel like you are in a trendy spot with the cool kids 5. haven't visited when it isn't chilly, yet, but I am STOKED to spend time on the outdoor back patio, after taking a look during my last visit. So much seating and space for porch beers. 6. the Simone's connection make the food avaialble a YES, PLEASE

I just tried the following: 1) Simone's Award Winning Sticky Sumac & Pomegranate BBQ wings. There is hint of BBQ...but the seasoning (including the sumac & pomegranate) truly set it apart! Extremely tasty....and surrounded w/ great garnishes as well! 2) Electric Grinch "mule". The E.G. "take" on the craft cocktail Mule is the perfect blend of mint and ...even kicks like a....well....a mule! :) Service is always top-notch (even when busy)! Love the lighting of the establishment...and Mitch ensures the bands sound their best as he provides the PA system! Come see for yourself!

Love everything about this restaurant! Tonight we had eggplant parm which was lightly breaded and…read moretender, with a delicious fresh marinara sauce. Eggplant wasn't chewy or thick as many are. My date had the meat sauce with tagliatelle that was so thick and flavorful. But hats off to the baker! The bread is the best I've had in any restaurant in the Capital district! Even better than most Italan bakeries. Fresh, crusty, dense and tastes like homemade! The dessert we had was amazing- a pistachio and chocolate chip panna cotta. It was light and creamy but not overly sweet with a crunchy topping. The perfect ending to an Italian dinner! Our server was lovely and genuine (didn't get her name but it was around 6pm tonight). She was so thoughtful! We love Stella's and highly recommend it for an amazing meal and great service.

I enjoyed the atmosphere here, as well as my Baritone American-style Porter. My brewery companion said his beers were ok, but he really enjoyed his pasta dinner. He travels to Italy frequently, and he said the pasta would be considered traditionally al dente in Italy, though perhaps not to all Americans' taste. I took advantage of the happy hour prices (which included a discount on my beer) to try the Eggplant Stack appetizer. The eggplant was cooked perfectly, crisp without being greasy, and the marinara sauce was addicting. Service at the bar was fun with the chatty bartenders. Besides coming back here to sample more beers, this could easily become one of my go-to Italian restaurants in the Capital District.

I have always loved going to Levon Helm Studios for excellent live music but will never go there…read moreagain. I am a senior female and was there with a friend to see Marco Benevento. He was doing his closing song and as we were heading out, I wanted to capture a minute of his closing song on phone and stood where the prior photographer had been and was not impacting anyone. So with a smile on my face I was capturing this last minute of the night and from behind me a bully employee decided to manhandle me and pulled my shoulders back and lifted me up and pulled me back, then repeated the action. I was horrified but left there without calling police as I didn't want a scene. My friend was a witness. Got in the car was in pain and crying went to Woodstock police next day and filed a report (described him completely) and there was absolutely nothing done to him by the police who said the assistant DA would get involved .......... never heard anything on this. Another staff member wrote me and said basically I am fabricating etc she spoke with the employee and another one who was there. I have no reason to lie and I had a witness and yet police did nothing and he was NEVER HELD ACCOUNTABLE. I had an injury from him but am healed but will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN TO BE PHYSICALLY MANHANDLED BY A BULLY EMPLOYEE and if this ever happens anywhere else (never in life has this occurred) I will call the police right on the spot.

If you are in Woodstock, you MUST stop here and see a show. It may possibly change your life. It's a little tricky to navigate here in the dark - you feel like you're in the Blair Witch Project, then you will see a beacon of light marking the entrance to the Levon Helms Studio. Follow the light and it will show you the way!

I had never been but had seen some of the pics of the hall and thought it looked OK. But being there was another story. As other reviewers have said, they do an amazing job making this space feel warm and inviting (as an old person I was thankful for the complementary ear-plugs). The staff were all super friendly and I was appreciative seeing they have security even for a low-key jam-band-friendly venue. The show itself was a lot of fun, there was plenty of room for the crowd of about 75-100 to relax, dance, sit and watch etc. The sound was really good, and the lights rivaled much fancier venues I've been to. As others have said, the drinks are a bit on the pricey side, but when you compare it to going to a show at say, SPAC these days it was actually a few bucks cheaper per-drink. We started the night at The Eleven, the bar attached to the venue which was also very nice. My girlfriend had one of their signature cocktails, the coffee based one (can't remember the name) and I tasted it and thought it was great. I was a bit disappointed by their whiskey selection, but they had the basics which worked fine. Overall, we had an amazing time and I will definitely be going back to check out more live music here.
