I…read morespoke with Midstate jumpers this morning and we agreed they would show up at 9:30 so they were set up before guests arrived. They did not show up until 5 minutes after ten. We even had guests asking if they had messed up on the correct time for the party to start. The bounce house itself was nice enough and clean enough. The delivery drivers were nice and efficient. My major issue with this company is the delivery fee of $40.00 that I was charged. At no time during any of the three phone conversation I had with the owner Bill, was a delivery fee mentioned. The website has a FAQ page in which it is stated that a delivery fee MAY be charged for areas further out, but it does not specify. On another page of their website it specifically says they deliver to Bend (where the party was) and again, does not mention a delivery fee. When I contacted the owner regarding this issue, his only response was "Well, then I guess I have to apologize to you. But that's the way things are done" that was it, no desire whatsoever to do the right thing and refund the $40.00. Had I known they were going to charge me that, I would have found a rental place that was closer to Bend. I have a six year old son who's birthday is in March. We will definitely not be getting a bounce house from these people! And whatever you do, don't rent their generators. They have a $50.00 price tag, but we rented a very quiet machine from Central Oregon Rentals for $15.00.

And "beginning to end" is doing a little work here, because our wedding plans changed approximately 47 times. We initially booked with Julie, canceled, changed plans, came back to her with considerably less notice, and generally kept things in a state of flux while we figured out exactly what we were doing. Through all of it, Julie was incredibly accommodating, friendly and helpful. She never made us feel like we were being difficult, even when objectively we probably were. Julie was especially communicative and responsive. She worked with us on short notice, sent pictures when we needed them, and offered a ton of helpful advice when it came time to actually set everything up. She wasn't just renting us stuff- she helped us figure out what we actually needed to make the whole thing work. In the end, the wedding came together beautifully and without a hitch. Events by Design definitely deserves some credit for that. Julie was efficient, flexible, knowledgeable and genuinely pleasant to work with throughout a process that could have easily become much more stressful than it was. If you're planning an event anywhere in this part of Oregon, I would absolutely recommend Events by Design. Julie made a potentially complicated process feel remarkably easy.
