Might I say Odell Lake Resort is one of the best destinations I've traveled to! From the moment of accidentally stumbling upon the east side of the resort, I knew it was a place I needed to stay. My friend and I were warmly welcomed by owner, Bruce with detailed instructions to our camping spot and delightful conversation. Not only was the guest experience wonderful, but the comfortability and amenities of the resort really sealed the experience. Our personal favorite was the Lakeside sauna, sitting at a perfect 160° with the most breathtaking view of the lake and mountains. Additionally, the resort had the most adorable renovated camp trailer that was turned into perfectly cleaned bathrooms for a comfortable wind down before settling into our camping site. While we LOVED our camp spot, we will definitely be choosing one of their quaint cabins that overlooks the lake next time or even possibly one of their lodge rooms. The resort has plenty of accessible trails nearby for a breezy morning hike, and if you need further instructions, Bruce or any of the coworkers there are happy to help! We had an unforgettable stay at Odell Lake Resort. Bruce and Liz, were kind, relaxed, and welcoming. The kitchen staff were also friendly and fun, and it truly felt like a full vacation in three days. Friday morning, we reserved a pontoon boat. The lake was glassy and calm until about 11 a.m., and we had a wonderful time swimming and fishing. Later, when the wind picked up and we struggled to dock the pontoon boat, Bruce saw us and immediately came over to help. He was calm and reassuring and helped us dock without any trouble. Friday evening there was live music outside while guests ate, drank and called out song requests, and kite surfers flew across the lake in the background. The homemade chicken corn chowder was especially good. It had the perfect amount of spice, and I honestly could have eaten three bowls. One of the servers suggested that we check out the quiet day-use area behind the resort. It has picnic tables, a picturesque creek, and a nearby hiking trail. We spent time stargazing, sitting by the dock, and playing cards inside at night. At times, it felt like we had the whole lodge to ourselves. To start off, the staff is incredibly nice and knowledgeable. The lodge rooms are nice, clean, and well worth the price. The café is good too. They have a variety of food from burgers to steaks, whatever your heart desires. I have also stayed at the campsites. They are clean, offer some privacy (not stacked on top of each other), and affordable. There are several sites right on the lake, while others are dispersed throughout the trees. The downside is there is no electricity, the toilets are not flushabe and there is only 1 water spigot for the whole campground. read more

Odell's was the most amazing place to stay during my PCT hike. I was very comfortable, cared for and well fed. The room at the lodge was the perfect mix of cozy-meets-modern. Staff were so kind to me and catered to my unique thru-hiker needs. They even shuttled me around because I was traveling on foot! This was the PERFECT place to recover after being caught in a multi-day snow storm on the mountain. The owners are outdoor enthusiasts, so they are genuinely interested in helping everyone enjoy the outdoors. Very hiker friendly! Great atmosphere. Caring staff. Cozy rooms. Stunning views. Odell Lake was amazing! Stayed for 4 nights with my best friend and we had a blast. Our neighbors in the next campsite were atrocious but Liz and Bruce were extremely kind and accommodating. They offered to move our campsite away from the noise - reminder no one really wants to hear your music in the outdoors/nature and not at an ear splitting volume at 930p (or anytime of day really). We had a lake front site so the noise from the lake and the afternoon breeze was delightful. 10/10 would recommend and Bruce and Liz easily make it a 12/10!! read more

The nearby campgrounds we were targeting were closed for the season, so we turned around and headed back to Odell hoping they had a spot. Happy accident! Warm lodge, lovely cabins, and nice camping spots along the lake. We ended up grabbing a spot and heading to the lodge for both dinner and breakfast the next morning. Although the staff was very friendly, the room they put us in was absolutely filthy with holes in the sheets, the portable fan was filthy. There were no tables to place anything on. The Windows had large cracks in them and the screens had holes in them as well. We would have immediately checked out, but it was unfortunately the last room they had and no place else to go. Really bad experience but for the fact it was a beautiful location. Not a place I would recommend. They really need to bring their standards up. read more

I came here for my birthday weekend. It was the PERFECT getaway! The staff is extremely kind and helpful. We stayed in the Lake House cabin which had a beautiful, yet, "at-home" feel to it and is tucked away privately away from everyone else. Its so quiet, and the views of the lake from the living room and master bedroom are epic. I enjoyed sitting inside by the fire and watching outside, it was so peaceful. We ate at the lodge, the food was so yummy. We loved the soups and bread. Perfect after being in the snow. Wes did a phenomenal job serving our table. We also went on a guided snowmobile tour. Candice was our guide and she did fantastic. She made our adventure so much fun!! My cheeks hurt after because I was laughing and smiling so much. We will DEFINITELY be back!!! You want to go!! Quaint historical lodge located in a beautiful setting with incredible views. You will be surprised by how good the food is since you're in the middle of the woods. On the menu tonight, we had the best chicken corn chowder we've ever had, an amazing Authentic Italian style lasagna, and marionberry cobbler. It was super delicious. Portions are large, and prices are great. We also loved our super friendly wait staff. We left with full bellies and big smiles on our faces. Do yourself a favor and eat here. I have just had an enjoyable weekend at the Odell lake lodge and resort. This was chosen as the venue for my daughter's wedding and it turned out to be a great success. Bruce, who is the new owner, has a solid staff that was accommodating and available to our whims of change. Special shout out to Jack and Liz. The movers and shakers that kept this wedding and reception flowing carefree for all guests. It rained before and after the wedding and they took care of table coverages and continued on with dinner services. For our personal wants for privacy, we rented all campsites, lodge rooms and cabins for this wedding. The restaurant food at the lodge was great. Well served with indoor and outdoor dining. Odell Lake is an incredibly serene and peaceful place, home to spectacular trees and impeccable scenery. It is an expanse dedicated to preserving the finest that Oregon offers. It had been about a decade since I stayed here. I didn't have a poor experience way back when, but this recent experience was far superior. Candice and Bruce are the new owners, and they provided me with a truly wonderful trip. They were hustling for the entirety of my multi-day stay, and always doing it in a kind and respectful way. I'm especially fond of their aligned teamwork, and witnessing how they would uplift and speak good of each other when the other was not around. I observed frequent tidying and cleaning, and everything smelled fresh. They happily rearranged furniture to accommodate larger groups when needed. The rooms have undergone some noticeable upgrades, with cozy modernization. I stayed during a time where about 2 feet of snow fell within a very short period of time. I drive a Toyota Corolla, so my ground clearance is abysmal. They had a truck plow the entry road and lot, so aside from me getting stuck once briefly, I was still able to travel safely and freely. They also offered to help me, let me borrow their windshield scraper/brush/snow shovel, and allowed me a 1-hour late checkout. The food prices were very reasonable and with generous portions. Everything was freaking delicious, but the rib eye, Caesar salad, and Gouda breakfast sandwich were my favorites. They were very casual about me taking food and drink from the restaurant up to my room. I also witnessed Bruce custom-make food for a guest who wanted something that wasn't on the menu. Candice was such a sweet and terrific host. She let me use the hot tub on a day where that cabin was vacant, invited me to play Scrabble in the lodge, took me for a ride on the fancy snow tractor, and indulged my wanting to love on their adorable little doggies. Really, the flexibility and graciousness of the owners and staff was very much apparent, and I overheard other guests sharing their own stories and echoing my sentiments as well. This lake is absolutely beautiful, and we have had fun a few times we have went. The lodge is okay....customer service in restaurant could be improved. We stayed in a room. It was okay-not super clean. The biggest issue is that we had to cancel our reservation for Christmas. We called to request refund (They charge a 25.00 'fee') and their "process" is - "We will send out a check"...2nd time I called, 3 weeks later when I didn't receive refund check, they said "give it more time"....We are now 5-6 weeks and no check...called again and they said the "mail is only picked up every 2 weeks"...Still should have received it. Called again and they admitted "there are new owners and the check was sitting there NOT SIGNED by the owners". They owe my friends 551.00 and us 375.00. Oregon Law states they have TEN days to refund deposit otherwise we are entitled to double the amount. IF I don't see the check by next Friday I will be filing a claim through DOJ. read more

The chef prepared excellent food: The chicken sandwich, small side salad, and the soup of the day were very tasty. THE FRENCH FRIES WERE EXCELLENT! I drove down from Waldo Lake to see if I could rent a life jacket (forgot mine). Sierra, you're the best - she trusted me to return it in two days! Wow, really? I observed other folks interacting with the owners and saw how accommodating everyone at this resort is. So nice. Camp spots right next to the water are coveted in the camping world, and this place has them. I saw that and immediately booked a site. I had the wind in my hair, a fabulous view of the lake and the sound of the waves lapping the shore throughout the night. Loved it. My family and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Odell Lake Lodge for two nights last month. We had such a great time, and even though we were there for a wedding we were able to explore enough to know that we can't wait to come back. Our first night, Liz was kind enough to loan us a loaf pan from the kitchen so we could make some banana bread. We felt very taken care of by Jas, who served us breakfast twice during our stay, one of the times of which was very busy, and she handled it all flawlessly. Right before we checked out, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner. He was so kind and really just solidified our experience. I haven't been to the snow in over 20 years and was so relieved to have had a fabulous stay at the lodge. The new owners were fabulous! They and the staff went above and beyond to help my clients have the winter wedding they dreamed to have. This lodge is perfect for that small intimate elopement/wedding. They accommodated 30+ guests effortlessly Keep in mind that this is an old lodge and perhaps a bit dated, but that is what adds to the charm of this place. You'll love the cozy warmth of the lodge room with its big wood burning fireplace, comfy/cozy couches and fabulous view of the lake, a great spot to hang out with your family and friends after a long day of play. Plus, you cannot beat that it sits on a beautiful lake and wow! It is gorgeous in winter! Because of this place, I actually enjoyed the snow! I hope to come back and add photos (we just returned home an hour ago:) because this is a winter wonderland! read more

We ate at the restaurant in the lodge. We were the only people there. The hostess was also the waitress as well as the cook and she was THE best! My friend can't eat cheese and the lady offered to find her a portobello mushroom and grill it for her to make a burger out of it, even if it wasn't on the menu. She added some guacamole and garlic, delicious! And I had a regular burger with fries. The burger was ok. The fries were greasy and limp. I am the most impressed with her service, going the extra mile to make something suitable for my friend for (late) lunch. The lodge itself now starting to show its age and wear and tear. It sure needs some love and care. Not the cleanest in places. Not a place I would like to overnight in. But some of the cute cabins around the lake look much more inviting, if you are into solitude. However, if you want excitement, you are in the wrong place! And Verizon service has just one sporadic bar service. T-Mobile has none, there is no wifi.... read more

The food is terrible. Go to Walmart, buy a package of fish and deep fat fry it. Get a bag of salad and cover it in generic ranch. That's essentially the quality. Our server was solo and doing almost everything and seemed like she was kind of done with customer service for the day. On the other hand, front desk staff when we paid the bill was friendly and there was a roaring fire in a very cozy room to just go chill in. The Clydesdales were fun to look at and let us pet them. It's rural and kind of remote so you get what you get and you don't throw a fit. Go for the rustic experience and convenience if you're hungry at lunch time. read more

5 stars even though not a 5 star resort. Beautiful lake setting... The place has a resteraunt, lodge rooms, cabins, and campgrounds. I first stayed in the campground for 5 nights and its appropriately priced at 14 to 20 dollars per site. The sunsets can be amazing. The resteraunt makes a great breakfast and the staff is helpful. The mosquitos can be a bit much so bring long sleeves and deet in the summer. If you are a fisherman this place has loads of koakane and some big mackinaws. Back in the 1980s there was a fun early video game called Odell Lake where you were a big fish that would attack other fish... The game was set on this lake. Rustic feeling but still relatively refined and adequately priced. Will be back. 5 stars!! read more

Stayed at the Lodge recently and had a blast! The staff was super friendly and helpful and great hosts. The room had comfortable beds with cozy blankets. There was a view of the gorgeous lake. Floors are hardwood and there was a wall heater in the room and bathroom. Bathroom had awesome hot water! Updated decor. Room was clean, as was the rest of the lodge. The TV had Dish network. Internet signal was really the best down in the living room, which was actually awesome (to unplug). The dining room has a nice fireplace and plenty of menu options. The food was great and we ate it all! The Lodge living room has a huge fireplace, plenty of seating, and games and puzzles along with a TV. This was the area with best WiFi signal if you need it. We went horseback riding and our guide, John was awesome. John was the cook and the host and the entertainment! (It was a slow few days as season had changed). There is tons to do and nature all around. Totally recommend and we will be back! read more

We had a fabulous weekend at Odell Lake Lodge! This place is a hidden secret! It has both small rustic cabins as well as larger newer cabins. Each give you a different perspective and feel. The food at the lodge is amazing, we had the best prime rib dinner! We took a carriage ride pulled by a beautiful clydesdale horse and walked along the lake. The best part... The staff!
